Oh PK, wishing you, and those around you, comfort and strength.

A friend has had a second dislocation of a hip, while recovering from a first, and has been operated on this morning. Again, a reminder that not everything, and everyone stops for Christmas.

  • Thank you for the support on here and kind replies, there have to be pleasures..

Waking up to lovely texts from DF’s neighbours as the various cars took up most of the road yesterday, but they weren’t complaining obviously.

I know it’s a bit of a morose pleasure, but the ease of the emergency services, police, and coroners at being open through Christmas eve evening to Christmas day.

DH covered cooking Christmas dinner, it was amazing, we didn’t over eat and we won’t need to cook for about a week now.

There were gifts, playing and even a bit of laughter.

The animals enjoying playing in the wrapping.

Our plans are still going ahead to go out tomorrow as there will be too much to deal with after that.
  • PK hugs. Thinking of you at this time. Hugs xx
  • Just popping in to send (((hugs))) to you PK. Sorry to hear about your father. Thinking of you x

Hope you are doing OK, PK, and I'm glad neighbours and various services were helpful.

    Pleasures for today (Christmas Day).

    1) Good to get up after almost no sleep!

    2) Hens well.

    3) The stocking fillers were a success - hoorah! The favourite items were a (free!) DVD of smaller son's football team's goals last season and for bigger son a new origami book.

    4) Dinner went OK though I forgot about the Yorkshire puddings (cooked them then left them on the side) and they were discovered by bigger son going in to get seconds! Had a little rest before the Christmas pudding.

    5) Mum, dad and brother came over briefly to exchange presents.

    6) Sons went to their father's where they are supposed to remain until the evening of the 30th - more on that later... So I did the washing up mountain, a load of washing, cleaned the fridge out, watched plenty of television and rather enjoyed the #joinin thing on Twitter for people by themselves.

    7) Spoke to my school friend and we are meeting up halfway between both our houses on the 28th.

    8) Lots of messages flying over from smaller son. He left here at 3pm and was back by about 9.30. The ex Mr Frith being ridiculous. He had gone out to pick bigger son up from nearest town so I got another text to "pick me up NOW while he is gone" and smaller son was shaking as I picked him up from the lane in case his father returned speedily and saw he was trying to leave. I feel bad for bigger son who is still stuck there but he can phone at any time and has his motorbike so can just drive off.

    9) Smaller son now talking and laughing with his best friend on the playstation and eating Quality Street so all is well.

    10) In bed with 1 hwb and will find something soothing to listen to on the radio.
