5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

I was really upset for about 2 minutes.  I am learning to cut my emotions in their track.  So now just vestiges left.

Am decluttering so picked up big box of stuff and put it in front room to sort through.  Within 2 minutes he was rooting through it and retrieved a big pack of dog treats that he had hidden.  I am desperately trying (and have been for years) to get Tiggy to a healthy weight.  Doesn't matter how many times I explain I am just ignored.  Is my upset unreasonable ?

Hello. Just in from cutting the grass, I’ve been saying everyday for a week I must  cut the grass today so the pleasure is it’s done! 

Up early ...just because that’s when I wake up , watched another beautiful sunrise all shiny and silver against the grey of the clouds. 

Quick doggy walk. 

Then down to seaside town and we took great nephew out for a few hours. He slept. We charity shopped. I got 2 lightweight jumpers, 2 stripy tops ( it’s my thing!), a dress, a pair of jeans for DD2. 

We walked up to the sea and watched that and then GN woke up so had a play at the park. Met his mummy for some lunch which was so awful it was almost laughable! Certainly won’t be back in a hurry! 

Stopped at other beach on way home , quick chat with someone I’ve known for hundreds of years, then quick photo ( was photo bombed by a wee doggy!) and then back into the warmth of the car and home. 

Quick snoozette.

Then grass cut and garden watered. We need some proper rain!

Happy Anniversary Vjsmum & oh.

I’m feeling fed up, completed the job application and got a jobs closed in return, but it let me fill out the application in full before telling me!

1 Groceries delivered a luxurious pleasure, which also meant lovely fresh bread for lunch with egg and cress.

2 I swept and tidied rather than hoovering today, feeling a bit delicate from yesterday’s pain flare.

3 Watching the 2 woodpeckers feeding, and also being very still and watching the crow bring down various things to soak in the bird bath.

4 I walked up to the local post office to return 2 items of clothes I ordered, tried on, returns sorted, and picked up an item I ordered for DH’s birthday, a ferret top of course.

5 Sent an email to the solicitors, asking for a quote for work before we even think about going further seems sensible and scary.

I’m impressed I wasn’t expecting to get to 5 today.

Quick pleasures for today (Wednesday)

1) Not a bad sleep.

2) Smaller son has done 3 days at college in a row. He came home with spaghetti with tomato sauce that he made this afternoon.

3) The air source heat pump man called round (hereafter ASHP). He measured up for heat loss so he could choose the right sized radiators. I have never lived in a house with central heating so he has to start from scratch. He will return to do the work in August. 

4) Hens OK.

5) Spent a good half hour or so working on the floor tiles where the piano used to stand. They had general ingrained dirt plus paint flecks that had built up over the years. A bit of bicarb and a scourer has started to shift it. 

6) Was making a complex tea (well, not that complex but required 3 rings on at the same time) and was using milk to top up the cheese sauce when I knocked the carton over and fried about a pint on to the hot rings! The broccoli and pasta cheese was nice, with bacon and mushroom bits. Also made brownies which we had still warm with a bit of cream. 

7) Bigger son appeared! He hadn't been home for 3 weeks. He was not stopping, but on the way to camping with his colleagues that he lives with. He was very jolly.

8) Watched Great British Sewing Be. 

If your lights dim tomorrow afternoon, its because smaller son will be getting his first professional haircut in over a year... Fire up the clippers!

For yesterday,

Capt S like a kid at Christmas, his pressie from me was a trail cam and he was so excited to see what had happened overnight, tbh it was mainly rabbits but it did capture the wing tips of what we think was an owl at 2am.

Over to the yard as madam had the farrier coming, she doesn’t mind having her feet trimmed at all and kept blowing kisses in the face of his apprentice, such a flirt!

Had the second dose of vaccine.

Eldest DSS popped in and went away with cake.

Very very tired in evening so early night.

Frith what a huge jump of success for smaller son.  When my brother was here I would try when I could to place a little something nice on his desk, for him to wake up to.  Can you imagine how I felt one morning when I woke up to a lovely surprise he had left me.  It really is about the small steps that somehow are really huge.
