Thanks ever so for letting us know Ampersand.8

Thanks for contacting dd ampersand, you're such a a lovely person, always helping other people. I've been quietly worried too. Seeing as I'm here I'll give you my pleasures for yesterday.....
Sunshine (won't be seeing much more of it according to the weather guess)
The HT went to school dreading his exams and came home beaming because he could answer the questions.
I painted my friend's living room and it looks much better than it did
Ice cold mixed fruits cider from the fridge once I'd taken my looked after person home - yum
Doing crosswords with best friend when we stopped for lunch (I was painting, he was cleaning).
Take care all of you12 -
Pleasures today...
Coming home after a night shift, knowing I have a few days off.
Decorator doing kitchen and dining room has finished the job in just two days and I am very pleased with the result.
Playing "house" after he'd gone, deciding where and how to arrange things.
Short walk with dog, she found a couple of good sticks to play with.
Watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail on Netflix, still funny after many years.
Early night, hot chocolate with a dash of Baileys. One life - your life - live it!14 -
Nargleblast, Hot chocolate and Baileys sounds like a great idea.
1 We gave away a pine corner unit to a local furniture project, the phone call went along the lines of we are your neighbours, ohh yes the ferrets, we popped it outside and they took it away to sell.
2 -5 Both happy and nervous we have booked in a viewing at a place that is interesting but comes with a lot of issues so going along to check it out. DH is rather smitten already but if we can’t get water to it, its got to be a no go.
6 Finished a job application, I don’t hold out much help, I applied with the usual cover and C.V. now they want a very convoluted internal application filled which is basically the same. I tend to find that the companies who are like this just don’t tend to bother, or its an immediate reject after a lot of effort. Oh well I hope to be proven wrong.
7 More food from the freezer today, and I fitted the rest into our freezer as the animal food is delivered tomorrow.
8 Dug up yet more dandelions, I left a lot for food, but now they are taking over literally.
9 Able to take it a little easy as just not feeling on par, I think it’s just I’m not sleeping well, but it feels like I could do with my anaemia jab a month early12 -
Good to hear news of DD 😊
Tasty 😋 looking cakes Lainey, happy birthday 🥳 to Capt S.
Recent pleasures:
Mini shopping trip on Monday , I haven’t really been shopping so it was nice to feel normalish, might even try a supermarket soon!
Friend and I went heron watching today.
Thete weren’t many herons but we sat in the sunshine ☀️ with a picnic roll and pastry from our favourite riverside cafe.
We saw a swan nesting and our first baby coots (apparently called cooties, how cute).
it was a good day 😊
I’ve got my second jab at the hospital tomorrow, will be good to get that done.
Night all 💤

Thanks for letting us know about DD, Ampersand. This lockdown has been tougher than the others.
1. Work over -text messages with retired colleague. Helped get through the day.
2. Did some watering in the garden - needs to be done but water butts are virtually empty now.
3. Glass of wine in the garden.
4. Chat with DS1 - he had a question about cooking.
5. Chat with neighbour.11 -
Morning all
Fab photos all
Thanks for the DD update, ampersand - come back DD we miss you.
Pleasures for Monday
1. A fast drive to Yorkshire and a slow pootle once we got off the motorway. We've come away for a few days. It felt like going abroad!
2. Stopped for lunch at Brinham Rocks and had a walk round - stunning
3. Found our holiday accommodation - it's immaculate and just off the town square
4. Sat outside eating some of the fresh bread provided by our host. Decided we'd have a tea of that bread, olives, pate, cheese. There's a REALLY posh (read expensive) supermarket here so we went there to stock up.
5. Watched Promising Young Woman - fabulous film
And yesterday
1. Our 30th wedding anniversary - how in heck did that happen? 😳Lots of lovely messages on FB
2. Unfortunately i still had to teach, so OH went to Ripon for the morning (he had coffee and went for a bit of a shop - while i worked 😆bit of role reversal!). Teaching went ok though and luckily the 'teams' outage didn't really affect me. Though it did enable me to justify finishing early.
3. A walk at lunchtime round the village / town and a bit of countryside.
4. After i finished (early) we drove to Aysgarth falls and went for a bit of a walk - after seeing the falls of course.
5. OH cooked a fillet steak tea - it was lish.
Have a great day all - we're off walking in the Dales.
I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Aw, love the cooties PH
Happy Anniversary to VJS and her Mr.
For yesterday,
Treat breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs as beloved opened his card and pressies.
Unfortunately no day off as he finishing up year-end accounts with an auditors visit looming next week but we will do something special when all that is finished.
Over at the yard, girlie was very teenage-esk, I blame springtime.
Home for coffee and cake plus we did get in a nice evening walk with small dog.
Snacky tea of charcuterie, cheese and olives, we opened a bottle of wine and played Yahtzee which got sillier as the level on the bottle went down 😉13 -
Hello there
Ampersand - thanks for being in touch with DD
D Doll - if you're reading along, please come back. My bubble friend, who was widowed about 3 months before lockdown 1, has managed wonderfully until about a month ago when, in her words, she fell to pieces. She thinks it's because everything was put on hold, but now we're coming out of the pandemic status, all the unprocessed grief comes flooding in. I suspect she's right. It's going to hit a lot of people that way.
Bala - any LoD spoilers from me would be more likely to be red herrings! I'm still not 100% sure of what's going on!
VJ's mum - Brimham Rocks was a favourite day out when we were children . In those days we were allowed, even encouraged, to climb all over the rocks. It's a fabulous place. And Aysgarth too. I hope you sang 'Everything I do...'
Paulie - cooties. Love it, and them!
Been to see bubble friend today. She's struggling but trying hard to be positive.
Loving my P D James book. Have read them all before, but years ago. Love her style of writing.
Altering a new dress. I think it's meant to be a maxi dress but I'm too tall so it's, as my dad would have said, nowt nor summat! I'm shortening it to just below the knee. I'm not a giant ( 5'8" ) but it's the easiest way to buy dresses that are long enough
And it's sunny again, though chilly
Happy Wednesday everyone10
