Cup of tea and toasted tea cake in the sun 🌞 before returning back along the river.
Visit to a charity shop where we had our tea cake, resulting in me having to carry a china bowl all the way back 🤣
Sunny day yesterday so OH pressure washed the back patio whilst I potted on some tomato 🍅 seedlings and did a some weeding and planted aubretia in a couple of bare patches.
Spicy meatballs and veggie rice for dinner.
Have a good Friday 😊11 -

catching up as been without internet for a while ,it kept coming and going ,then killed the tv so completely that Sky had to send a man!
turned out it wasn’t my fault ,WiFi has played up so much that router and box had refused to talk to each other .
nice chap sorted so DH had tv on again, but then OpeReach had to find fault,I have tried to sound as if I understand what they say .
pleasures
1 helpful providers esp SKy DH has always sorted tv phone ,broadband so I was struggling, but they understood when I explained situation and will talk to me ,even gave me the old people’s number to ring them ! They get a lot of stick but have been great
2Open Reach kept me informed and reinstated landline overnight3 friends
DH continues to fade slowly, not ‘ Raging at the dying of the night ‘ but offering enormous passive resistance.
Thank you all for your support12 -

Hi Bala. I'm here! We've been at our caravan all week and Wi-Fi there is just silly! Anyway, I decided to give myself a break from the internet, seeing as it's nearly impossible there anyway, as I'm aware I've been wasting too much time on my tablet lately.
So , pleasures for this week
Wall to wall glorious sunshine. Yes, a sea breeze, but nevertheless, very nearly perfect weather.
Puffins!
Lovely lunches outside, usually with a view of the sea.
Fish and chips - always taste better at the seaside.
Seeing DH visibly relax.
Lots of good things to eat. Well we're on holiday! DSM - again!
Back home the garden has survived both the frost and the drought
S Sue - good to hear from you, and that you're still coping so well. You are marvellous.
Have not read back properly yet but did see some lovely pix from Frith, Ampersand and Paulie. Thank you
I would put some pix of puffins on for you, but they wouldn't keep still long enough!I
Happy 🌞 Friday everyone12 -

Hello. I’m posting now. Going out on what can only be classed as gallivanting tonight! Hair deep conditioned and a face mask on! Barbecue with work colleagues so will be too tired to post later! What a day!Alarm went off at 4am so was out with the doggy at 4.20am and it was the most stunning moon and stars...I hadn’t realised how I’ve missed the night sky, I usually just rejoice in the sunrise and daylight but it was such a big, golden moon ( about 3/4 full) blooming cold and had to defrost car.In at work for 4.5 hours! Massive load to do this morning and same again tomorrow! Waaah to late night tonight! Then DD1 and I went a walk and she fell ( dog pulled her over) and then fainted. Clean out! Middle of blooming countryside! And she is a bit of a fainter but usually in the confines of a clinical setting. So that was a bit of a drama. But she’s fine now. Phew.Had a big chat with one of mums nurses...with a can I call you back as we were heading back home from our eventful walk. Then round to hers. Then nipped j to supermarket, bought some flowers to take tonight...then bumped into the recipient...told her to look surprised tonight!Reclined on garden sofa, read for a bit then had a snoozette!I bought a beautiful emerald green dress months and months ago in a charity shop ( next week before they open in Scotland) and have never had the opportunity to wear it and it was a bit tight and now it’s not so it’s getting it’s inaugural outing tonight! It still has its tags on it.Sue big love to you and your husband. Just keep on at keeping on. And remember the saying ‘she believed she could , so she did’ There will be certain roles that were husbandly for no other reason than they were but you can do them too! My lack of knowledge is most things car-sy. He would always deal with them.
When he was given his terminal diagnosis I had an absolute meltdown and my three things were I can’t change a plug ( had never needed to and still haven’t) , couldn’t ( wouldn’t) drive in the city ( Melbourne) and never did and now ...well I don’t live there! But that’s what an excellent public transport system was for. And I couldn’t drive an automatic car...kept trying to find the clutch and would hit the brake! So hey...as it turns out I live in Scotland where most cars are of course manual ( Australian are mostly automatic) and it’s not an issue!I kept saying I needed him to write me a life manual and he didn’t. But I’m managing without one...most days!So take care of you and remember we are all ‘here’ for you x14 -
Mhagster, you reminded me of when my husband died (end of June 2019). The first thing I learnt to do after his death was to change the batteries in the front door lock. I was really proud of myself!
It's a good idea I think to make a note of the routine tasks your OH does and check how he/she does them, then if you are on your own it's not such a big thing. One life - your life - live it!13 -
A beautiful sunny 🌞 day with blue skies as far as the eye could see 😊
As it was so nice I got myself out of bed at a reasonable time and got ready to hit the town!
its not much of a town, just a high street and small precinct but it is market day which I always enjoy.
Bought fruit and a tray of pansies in the market and I actually went into the precinct for a quick look in Bon Marche and Peacocks and a small shop in Sainsbury’s. First time I have done this for ages as I’ve been shopping online and click and collect. I quite enjoyed it and it felt almost normal.
Popped up to 90 year old neighbour with some fruit and a chat in the garden.
Came home and sat in the sunshine for an hour listening to music on my headphones.
Friday night takeaway was kebabs, Very tasty 😋
night all 💤10 -
A few for the past few days.
1 We went to Lidl for the first time in I dread to think how long, the prices really are amazing, in a good way, picked up some rtc fat mince for a ferret treat, its all portioned up and frozen now.
2 Just had a slice of pizza for a simple tea.
3 A friend touched base, always nice to chat, and also chatted with DB.
4 Tidied up the front garden and I’ve started watering the pots to get the soil ready for plants. In the back garden I prepared 2 wall pots with old and new soil for a couple of geraniums.
5 Refilled the birdfeeders always a pleasure.
For today.
1 The house is hoovered and mopped again for 5 mins
2 Meal planning is going well.
3 A load drying on the line in the garden.
4 Barley is in the pond, the uv light is in and working, and DH decided to build a mini waterfall using all the bits we had around.
5 I have found a few bits to order in for a pending birthday little things along side the main thing he has his eye on. It's normally all done and sorted by now as we pick things up when out and about but thats not the case anymore.
