5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) I was quite surprised to receive an email from Green Homes Grant very promptly. My installer had said that lots of vouchers had been issued at once so they wouldn't be able to get round everyone in the 3 month time limit and would I ask for an extension? As it took 5 months and lots of paperwork and chasing to get the original voucher I wasn't hopeful, but they've extended it until the end of October.
The installer is coming out next Wednesday to do some measuring.
3) The dreaded EHCP review meeting was this morning. One chap from college, one lady from County and me (online). The man said, "Well, this is a brand new EHCP so we have nothing to discuss!" 1.5 hours later, I stopped talking... I think County lady said 2 words. Perhaps they are still smarting about being taken to tribunal. No one had sorted out smaller son's in-person OT assessment (of course they hadn't!) so they are sorting it and paying for it. I talked at some length at little things being major things for smaller son so transport not turning up etc is not great. Most of the topics I raised I have phoned, emailed or talked in person to college about before. There was one part where I wanted to laugh so much I had to look out of the window. We were talking about boating and I said smaller son would never get changed where there was the slightest chance someone might see him or accidentally open the door on him. The man said, "Perhaps he could get changed into a wet suit in college?" and it has tickled me all day, the thought of smaller son waddling onto the school minibus then jumping off at the other end like a super hero!
He will (funding permitting) do a final year at college next year then today mention has been made about setting him up with a Mencap assisted internship.
4) Picked smaller son up at 12 and progress has already been made. He had redone some essential paperwork and tomorrow is going for a walk and doing some cooking. He wanted to go to Holland and Barrett for some dried bananas (!) so we did.
5) Hens OK and have been out all day (in the wider allotment) and I put them away at 7.
6) Popped to my parents' to sit in the garden with them and dad's best man, who is always jolly.
7) Voted in the police election. It is the only thing I don't vote for (usually) as I have no knowledge or opinion on the best candidate. However, I saw the Reform UK twerp candidate so thought I should vote for someone else!
8) I had filled in a survey about my washing machine. Currys refused to install it as it is awkward to turn the water off (not THAT awkward) so they refunded my installation fee. I didn't complain, but I did mention it in the survey. They sent me a voucher for £20!
9) Watched Holby.
10) Smaller son has ordered a new case for his desktop so is singing downstairs.
11) I might drive over and have a cup of tea with bigger son tomorrow or Thursday.
Got a day of training tomorrow! It's in museum matters (accreditation, which is like the Ofsted of museums). Unfortunately, it is not training into the bit I'm unsure about but they are always positive and interesting days. No sandwiches handed round at lunchtime, as it is all online.10 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday.......
Took the car to the car wash. I'm too short to reach the top of it so I can't wash it myself. The smut on the back windscreen where a bird dropped a cube of cheese on it's way past has gone now.
Sunshine - such a lovely day for a drive.
Called to see my aunty - I haven't seen her since last summer. As we can now meet in the garden we sat out and had a cuppa (I may have had two) made by my uncle and caught up on all the gossip family and otherwise. The drive home along the prom in the sunshine was glorious.
Work was quiet - my looked after person had his second covid jab yesterday and said he was tired. He was still eating and talking though so all good.
Early to bed and a read of my magazine before putting the lamp off early (11pm) and actually falling asleep more or less straight away
Thank you for all the lovely photos posted recently.
Take care all of you

1. Survived work. It felt like a long day.
2. Raspberry canes had arrived so managed to plant them when I got home.
3. Chat with neighbour
4. Glass of wine in the garden with DH.
5. Messaging a friend11 -
For yesterday,
Out and about early to horsey town to do a food shop, I treated myself to a small bunch of yellow roses, just because.
Two very welcome firsts of the summer, I heard my first cuckoo and saw my first swallow, both over at the yard, well hello my lovelies.
No work for the beautiful grey one but I gave her a good groom and she dozed while I tidied up her mane, tail and legs.I distributed some donated bark chip under the recently cut forsythia which tidied up the area nicely.
Made a Quiche Lorraine and we had that with new pots & salad whilst listening to the footie, Utd are now just one win away from promotion, proper football and a world away from the money driven shenanigans of the muppets in charge of the big clubs.11 -
I’m pleased you like the photos 😊
Tuesday pleasures:
Woke up to sunshine ☀️ after a restless night ☹️
Got a few jobs done whilst waiting in for a parcel to arrive (OH’s new strimmer))
I re-oiled some of the oak worktops, got 2 loads of washing hung out, did the ironing and some paperwork for son.
Parcel arrived so I went round to friends for prearranged lunch in the garden
Homemade moussaka, a couple of glasses 🍷 and tiramisu- very nice it was too 😋
Easy dinner of pie chips and beans for OH and soup for me.
Have a good day 😊

Paulie, I love the photos too but Cranky always gets there before me......sulk, sulk......
Sue, as always, thinking of you both.
PK, glad all is okay. My Dad drove me through Herne Village. Had only been to Herne Bay before. Lovely.
Am miffed. According to a local neighbourhood site, we have in this area, Red Kites, Sparrowhawks and one lone Peacock. Have never seen one of them. And all my crows are gone !
Some good news. Food put out on old wooden rickety table for foxes. Ten minutes later had a visit and watched her eating for a good 5 minutes. Delicate eating habits. Lethal sharp teeth. I swear that because of my furry friends I never see evidence of rodents. Just a theory.
toodle-pip me lovelies
have a soft, gentle day.....if that's what you desire

Morning / afternoon all.
Goodness Frith - the hoops you have to jump through!
Recent pleasures.
1. working on the railway with the gang - lovely to be able to get out and talk to people again. Because it is voluntary work and outside, we are allowed a reasonable sized gang so it was good to catch up. The railway is looking better than it has ever done.
2. Walking by the sea and up a hill
3. OH's birthday has been elongated over several days but i think he's enjoyed it.
4. Teaching went ok - only 3 more left and then i hope to be done with online live teaching for ever!
5. We went to a pub! only for a half but it was such a novelty
6. Wills, trusts and powers of attorney sorted and signed - now to focus on living!
7. warm sunshine
8. DS went to the super league protest yesterday - I think it made a difference and shows that there is some power in protesting.
9. Being in ICT with OH (keep up with the TLAs 🤣) - my favourite person to be there with.
10. the return of Call the Midwife - such a lovely programme that gets overlooked.
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Hello. It’s been a beautiful day here.
Up early, oooft that was a hard wake up alarm and just reset it for the morning! But was home by 7.15am and in the fields with the dog by 7.30am. We had a lovely walk.Home and had a little snoozette. Then back over the fields to do some litter picking, had noticed lots of empty drinks cans and bottles. So the doggy got an extra run!Round to mums. She was at hospital so we did a bit of tidying when she was out and I cut the grass . Had a nice chat with her next door neighbour who I’ve known all my life. One of my favourite people. DD1 did her ironing. Wasn’t great news from hospital so letting that sink in a bit.Home and sat with the patio doors open and the sun was shining on my ankles!Son popped down for a surprise visit so that was nice. Though couldn’t hug and he kept his mask on. Then two out the three of them were all a bit disagreeable and it upset me so I went upstairs for 5 minutes. Think mum news and the surprise and the disagreeable-ness were all too much!Anyway It was nice to see the three of them. Doggy was delighted!11
