5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

1. Work happened. Becoming frustrated with what I'm doing at work. Boss doesn't want us to do anything else regardless of what we want.
2. DH had done some decorating as he had no work.
3. DS1 socially distanced picked up hair clippers and his spare car key. I also have him few bottles of beer that we won't drink.
4. Quick chat with neighbour as I gave her a letter.
5. House is staying much tidier now no sons are here. It is much quieter and I miss them but less housework and ironing!12 -
Hi Bala
I was indeed awake - I often am at that time!
DD is coming home today, hopefully. She seems very positive on our FaceTime chats and the doctors are pleased with her recovery
I hope you are now asleep, or can manage a nap during the day. ( I very rarely can!)10 -
BOP that chicken tikka looks lush - recipe?
Not posted for a few days. I’ve got behind on reading on here as well as I’m trying not to use my iPad in bed to see if it helps my sleep - mixed results 😊
Made soup and beef casserole. Both ok but not my best
Walk with friend to one of our favourite lakes. Used my walking poles for first time, knee didn’t hurt so much so maybe they helped but felt better generally
We see many more herons than we used to
Tackled my sons accounts ready for tax submission. Not really a pleasure as I just have a pile of scruffy receipts and the computer keeps “hiding” invoices I have saved ☹️ Made some headway though and he is thinking of getting a desktop computer if he can share his mates office space so I can email documents to him and he can save them. I will have to get a new laptop though
Did Barbara Currie’s 10 minute yoga yesterday - it’s a start. Going to try to do something on the days I’m not out walking 🚶♂️
Have a good Friday, it’s nearly the weekend!12 -

Sorry to hear that V is still so poorly VJS.
For yesterday,
Ventured out to SM, first time since before Christmas and we were running low on a few essentials, slightly restricted choice on some products but otherwise fine and nicely quiet.
Sunny afternoon and did get over the yard, bit of in hand lateral work with girlie which was good. Nice appropriately distanced chat with fellow livery owner.
Home and took boots off, hmm, foot not so good then as weepy & sore. Cleaned up and Savlon applied.
Stunning sunset and Mr Blackbird sitting on the roof of the old barn serenading us all.
Tasty tea, mushroom and lentil gratin with spinach.

Good morning All,
Yesterday
1. Olio and Good to Go success.....some dog kibble for the hounds and a couple of bags of soup and sandwiches from a posh sandwich shop which we will have for lunch today.
2. Made Mulligatawny soup from wilting veg and scraps of chicken. Very nice, but needed more spice.
3. Admin tasks completed.
4. Watched the last of Staged, and an episode of The Repair Shop, while eating some cheese and biscuits. (Good suggestion BoP).
5. £3 wine in Lidl 🥳
Have a lovely day 👩🏻🎤In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

bala we're moving to a smallholding in the country soon and your post made me so excited to feed wildlife. The previous owners have a sort of bird feeder cage which you can see from the kitchen window to prevent squirrels taking all the food. They often get pheasants and woodpeckers. I'm hoping for nut hatches and treecreepers too as it seems like the right environment.
1) HM chips and vegan nuggets last night. Naughty naughty, but hotter and cheaper than a takeaway and enjoyed by the troops. Gave them leftover crumble after and there's enough left for tonight. My sweet tooth seems to have left me at the moment. I also chopped and peeled spuds for lunch today so that's done.
2) Work is ridiculously stressful at the moment. Highly confidential, high exposure, time pressured...arghhh. I'm so glad my husband is in vaguely the same job as - though I can't actually tell him what I'm doing - he's good to bounce things off. So my pleasure is my husband, I suppose!
3) Really enjoying watching How to Get Away with Murder in my down time. Watched 15 mins at 'lunch' yesterday and 1.5 episodes in the evening. It does make me really miss University and just general normal life with pubs/bars/being outside.
4) It's the 8th and I haven't spent any money on food yet. I can probably eke that out until tomorrow but realistically I'm going to want wine tonight so I may as well go to Tesco tonight to get food rather than getting an overpriced bottle from the wine shop!
5) It's Friiiiiiday!13 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
A decent sleep followed by what counts as a lie-in (after 7am) in this house.
Doctor's appointment at 9am. The pleasure was that I was in and out very quickly and instead of having to make an appointment for blood tests they were done on the spot. Results later today hopefully.
I finished my book. I need to decide which of my "to read" stack to pick up next.
Small chat with my sister who gets her new knee today (not UK)
My warm and comfortable house. It's my favourite place to be when it's cold and wet outside.
Take care all of you15
