For today,
Up and at em to be at the farm shop for 8am as that was our collection slot for turkey, well managed as always and friendly staff, I had saved up my loyalty points to get a decent amount off the cost.
Breakfast then busy in the kitchen, first iced the cake as I prefer Royal to Fondant, then made a batch of rye bread with treacle and cumin, then whilst that was proving I used my DM’s recipe for sweet shortcrust and made the mince pies. Beloved meanwhile was wielding the hoover and changing the bed.
Quick lunch then over to see my equine girlie, she munched on the biggest parsnip known to mankind and enjoyed her human slave grooming every inch.
Driving home from the yard and listening to R4 live with the Carols and Lessons from Kings.
We have just enjoyed a seafood platter with said rye bread and I’m nursing the biggest G&T ever!
Happy Christmas to all my fellow 5 Ospers x15 -
A busy in a good way day.
1 Spent a good hour on the phone with DB catching up.
2 A lovely brekkie of croissants.
3 Wrapped DH’s pressies, and now need to go back up and wrap one I missed ops.
4 Popped to the pharmacy to pick our meds and usual, and gave them a box of chocs and card, they were so happy and grateful.
5 Numerous candles alight, a cosy feel.
Happy Christmas to all.

Pleasures for today (Christmas Eve)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Tidied up, cleared the shed out and decorated it with fairy lights and candles for...
3) Dad's first visit since he started sheltering in February. He sat on a chair in the shed. We stood outside.
4) Bacon sandwiches for lunch.
5) Cleaned the hens bedding area. It gets dirty much quicker now they are living on one level, rather than in the raised bedding box in their proper pen.
6) My school friend visited - first visit since Jan 1st!! - and we stood in the garden.
7) Played Settlers of Catan and had cheese and biscuits.
8) Father Christmas is pondering how to stay up later than sons to sort the stocking out...
9) In bed with 1 hwb and will watch some TV in a minute.15 -
1) a wonderfully quiet day - dd2 out with the dogs, ds out
2) so i did cleaning and it was lovely
3) 3pm carols from kings
4) supper with dd2 and ds and mum - lovely
5) a whatsapp video with dd1 at 11pm cos she's in holland so an hour ahead
and now midnight mass online and ds and dd2 are filling stockings and the cat has catnip in his stocking and is going a bit crazy
Happy Christmas everyone xxx

Merry Christmas everyone. I’m up early as I think I’ve just got used to waking up for work! But will try and snuggle down for a bit longer. Rather crashed out last night.Had a 2am alarm yesterday and was in at work at 3am but finished by 7am. DD1 came in too. Much catering needing to be done! Boss came in and we all just chattered and sang along to the Christmas music. Was nice.Had a snooze but set alarm clock so I didn’t sleep all morning! Then it was time to be up and at ‘em! Much to be done. Made a pavlova, pastry for mince pies which we made later and made a brownie ( of sorts as just had to make up my own ratios with what I had. Not enough chocolate and someone had all but finished the baking cocoa . Anyway crushed up some candy canes and it tasted nice. It was for a gift so I’m glad it was nice!Nice big walk with doggy. We had such a hard frost but the most beautiful of blue skies and of course a star filled one when it was dark. Picked some ivy when I was out.
Then it was time to catch up with the niecelys. Met at our local country park where lots of people had a similar idea! Much exchanging of gifts from car boot to car boot! Had a lovely walk and chatter and a cuddle with my little people. Baby not so baby anymore and GN has just stretched ! So tall! And so excited for Santa coming! We talk on the phone and my niece sends photos and messages every week but it’s not the same as seeing them! Then home and time to make mince pies. Then girls went round to mums and dropped off stuff at Godparents. ( thank goodness for children with their own cars!)
Quick chat to friend whilst they were out.
I got as far as extending the table and putting a table runner on it! And plates for breakfast! We had a Christmas Eve box so sat with our moisturiser socks on and played Jenga and dominoes and cards ( all lovely sets bought very cheaply in HB) much hooting of laughter then I just had to go to bed!Stockings still need filled but that won’t take long!So a nice Christmas Eve ( especially spending time with GN and GN) and a few days off work which I’m looking forward to! Just time with my little family.Have a lovely day. I’ll be back later with tales of today! Not that it’s a big surprise but I’d asked for a greenhouse (small shelfy kind) so I wasn’t supposed to see it but almost walked in to it when I went in to lounge to close curtains!13 -
Have just fed my foxes bread soaked in tuna & tuna juice. Second course will be the chicken skins and bones that are cooking now. Tiggy gets the meat and veg. Then onto my birds. Well, if I cannot spoil them all today, then when ?

❤️ Festive greetings! ❤️
I hope everyone has the best day possible.
Recent Pleasures.....
1. Collected a tumble drier yesterday, bought on The Bay. Our tumble drier was working, but this dries twice as fast, and there is no condensation running down the walls!2. The weather yesterday was beautiful, but cold.
3. We have a family Christmas Eve tradition of going to the cinema. We have done it even before everyone else caught on, and there have been times when we have had a screening to ourselves! ......In the absence of cinemas, we voted to watch 'Die Hard' as our Christmas film. I have never seen it, but enjoyed it. 🤣
5. DD has shaved one side of her head. 😮 ........The pleasure being that she is very happy with it.6. Did I mention my pink hair?.......it is still a pleasure. 🙂
Have a lovely Christmas Day 🥳In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

Happy Christmas 🎄 everyone 😊
we went for a walk in our beautiful local park yesterday morning. It was a beautiful day, sunny ☀️ but very cold 🥶
doorstop swap of presents with friend. She text me later that the table arrangement with the beautiful candle was lovely. She’s quite hard to please so I was happy 😃
OH and I had our now traditional Christmas Eve dinner of roast gammon and watched his favourite old version of a Christmas Carol
Just opened our presents 🎁 to each other in bed
Got to get up soon as cooking Christmas dinner for 6 even though there’s only 2 of us here 😃 OH taking dinner up to his 88 years old mum and dad, I’m delivering dinner to my 90 year neighbour and I’m hoping my son may pop in for his dinner! What a strange year ☹️
Hope you all have a good day 😊14 -
