Hello. And once again a workety work kind of day. In from 7.30 as I’d a load of catering to do first before the day to day stuff. A good day that went by quickly enough. Good company in the kitchen which makes a big difference.Oh hello boy( doggy) I know I know I’ve missed you too! Longest he’s been left for a while ( DD2 working in afternoon ) but he was of course fine just needed a huge wee and his dinner and a cuddle! In that order 😄
Hot shower and jammies on and whilst that was happening chicken Kiev is cooking and I’ve leftover from work salad.13 -
Thinking of you SSue, and glad you have family visiting.
1 Upstairs hoovered, some bits cleared out, tackled an inherited box of paperwork, (one of a few) and shredded most of it.
2 I need to do the next lot of meal planning, but hadn’t done today, I had no idea what to make so I rummaged around and ended up with corned beef hash.
3 A beautiful moon view from the sofa tonight, apparently it “looks full” but isn’t.
4 DH and I saw the woodpecker for the first time this year on the feeders stuffing itself, really pleased.

The moon will be full at 09:29 U.K. time tomorrow, in the sign of Gemini.
Suffolk Sue, my OH used to get the Russian brides emails. I had one recently I think it was from Melania Trump telling me that authorisation has been given for funds totalling several millions of US dollars to be released into my bank account, I just need to contact her using the link she posted to sort out the finer details. Must do that sometime when I have a moment.
(As if)One life - your life - live it!15 -
pk i have heard one but yet to spot a woodpecker
dfv yep canoeing, and an increasing number of my friends are going open air swimming. in the sea, on the east coast of scotland. brrrrrrrrrr
suffolksue sending hugs
1) the sight of bare trees against the sun coming through the mist - very beautiful
2) the smell of spices and herbs in the zero waste wholefood shop
3) the taste of haggis stovies at the botanics - very yummy
4) the feel of a warm radiator on a chilly evening on arriving at church for
5) the sound of a lone chorister singing o come o come Emmanuel at the candle-lit advent carols. my very favourite hymn.

Epic post DforV - a re-fused kettle is a blessed thing and hugs for you in prepping for one of your last 'firsts'.
Hope recovery is continuing, Ampersand
Bala - my DD is aspergers and we did not realise until she was nearly 18. When i did work it out, i was rather terrified of seeing her but, of course, once she came home, she was just the same 'her'. The label has made everything better because we all understand her ways more and she deals with it all so much better - she is now 24. We now say "how can we not have realised".
Love the sound of the chorister, DD
Anyhoo Pleasures for saturday
1. I was bored - which is not a pleasure but at least i know that i'm not the hibernator i thought i was. More planning required.
2. Boredom did inspire me to make flapjack however
3. we watched many episodes of the Crown
4. made saag paneer as part of tea - was very yom
5. banked
And yesterday
1. a more active day - i'm happier active. HOwever, i started the day quietly.
2. Put the fruit in to soak for the christmas cake. Haven't made one the last couple of years cos we eat it ( )! This year we are eating cake anyway and i like christmas cake, so there.
3. Spent the afternoon chopping wood into logs - well himself did with the chainsaw. i rode shotgun to check he would still have all his limbs when he'd finished. I also sorted logs and got to play with my new moisture meter.
4. Tea and flapjack afterwards
5. A gammon and salmon tea (gammon for boys and salmon for girls - same trimmings).
6. Made a good start on the christmas (online) shopping. For someone who loathes shopping, this online lark is a godsend. Have scaled it right back this year though due to not wanting to go in shops and problems in getting others' pressies to them.
Have a nice day allI wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
1. Visit to Wisley. Great walking round there
2. Chat with neighbour
3. Time in the garden
4. DH did some painting bonfire
5. Had a bonfire14 -
Good morning VJM
Was only thinking at about 5am...........'how did I not realise ?'. Once I started researching Aspergers so many things clicked into place. His total lack of interest in others, his choice of 50 years of work (working alone on things that required waiting for a machine to finish a job), not taking responsibility, his need for everything to stay exactly the same etc.
But amongst that there are kindnesses, generosity, personality etc. You can get used to a person and not realise that because of coping strategies they have instinctively developed, their condition is masked.
I could kick myself !
So glad that as a family your understanding of your daughter is heightened. And her understanding of herself. It makes a massive difference.

Hope you enjoyed your family visitors SSue.
We get the white, black and red woodpecker on the feeders PK, I always forget which one that is.
For yesterday,
A nice long soak in the bath, threw all the products at it ☺️Some time spent in the garden, tidying up and generally mooching.
Tasty lunch of steak pie and veg, my pastry was very short and crumbly but nice all the same. There was a temptation to slump on the sofa after the above but we went for a long walk instead, glad we did and small dog met a chocolate labrador who obviously reminded her of our Rosie, she was giddy with excitement and they had a good game together.
Watched a couple of programmes from the Arts channels of music videos from the 80’s & 90’s, lots of memories.15 -
