Extraordinary up front?
Fly me too the Moon and Harvest pub please!
Rum weigh to treat the Raspberries! Donuts! Jacket Spuds Proper foods!Around the Park!
DD them donuts reminds BoP of working inn the arcade in the 70's. We also made the fresh donuts on the machine, always fresh, not the carp seen inn the emporiums. The smell was of the ozone in the sea air. We also did the candy floss, that is made in the same weigh you made fibreglass! Now thats putt you of the candy floss! Kitty was useless yesterday on everything! I cannot weight for FiL to remind us of the 1956 photo of the Posh!
Well, enuffs of that now watching the cricket. Watching the gullible alter the prices too much, just need a Engerland to place.
Had the usual; chick bits from the oven last nite, with the bitsers from the refrigerator. Nice and wasty. Wobbleades and cheeses were consumed. Court up the challenge of the uni and then watched Cannonball Run II. Another film they would not make today?
Now watching the cricket on the ogle box!
Keep SafeA Smarter Weigh to your day!
Ooops, I forgots, that will ...

A very grey day.
S Sue - lovely to see you. So glad you are seeing your son soon.
Had a zoom craft session with DGD . We made melted snowman cards, but really it was good to have that connection, even through a screen. Roll on Boxing Day!
Am making some decorations but resisting putting them up just yet. It's too ear!y to put a tree up anyway so I'll wait a bit longer.
Sausage and mash for tea. I don't really like either very much but it's one of DH's favourites so I have to be fair!
Time for my daily call to my friend. She lives alone so I said at the beginning of lockdown 1 I'd ring every day for a chat. Who knew I'd still be doing it 8 months later!! But we both enjoy a natter.
Happy grey day everyone12 -
Blinking RL! So much for this almost daily - must try harder!. To everyone I don't namecheck, mea culpa & thank you for posting even as I get distractedmhagster - giving away a Christmas treee already?! Hurrah fire skills sharpening. Hunting a Fridge through BF- it's effortful. Boy shuttling with laden vehicle - yes, that I recall. Photoshoot & a white wig?!DundeeDoll - right with you time is playing dice with us. There are people canoeing in this weather? Truly the God Lord has indeed made us all different.PaulieHerts - I love it when New Things reveal themselves!balabooberlies - every escape from isolation to health is a triumph. Brother fell over? It's dreadful, but at least you're under the same roof. May sound daft but since a diagnosis is not going to change a thing, it sometimes helps to just love the blighter anyway. Trying to divide him up may not help. Love a table that, despite scrubbing, keeps trying to grow.villagelife - well done you reaching out to lonesome colleague. Clearing cupboard under stairs?! Applauds effort & courage required. Hoping new neighbours are (a) nice & (b) soon.LaineyT - your "throw together" meals sound delicious. Respectful awe at your seasonal organisation. I can almost see noses popping over doors as a wheelbarrow of carrots rolls past...BoP - seriously, KHP has still refused to flap despite the nip?! Truly the ways of felines are Utter Mysteries some days. Share your bemusement at the folly of some Tractor drivers. They might reboot Cannonball but the surgical removal of all not politically correct humour would leave it insipid. (Animaniacs lost "Hello Nurse!" and most of it's bite.)Purple kitten - aw pets that trigger gentle bell chiming!Cranky - gosh yes some weeks off are more equal than others & tend to live on the Profoundly Unlikely shelf. May I suggest including a hot drink when in hot bath? Work both outside in & inside out.VJsmum - The Peanut Butter Falcon sounds loads of fun but National Trust tables with you own food sounds brilliant!ampersand - please accept the help around you - we all know you are no damsel in distress but a competent autonomous being. but right now please allow various would-be knights in shining armour their moments of glory, & avoid risking the surgeons wrath? Gosh, France from another angle indeed.Happycas - someone else's toddlers are gifts that keep on giving. Zoom can be wonderful & maddening but it knocks the socks off the alternatives.Nargleblast - an online butcher - delivery just Such a pleasure!SuffolkSue - truly junk mail is remarkable - and what a relief it is all electrons. Hugs to all your menfolk!Frith, Broomstick, Sparrer & others - hoping all is mostly well with you.
OS Pleasures recentlyTop Pleasure, mum is much better & coping on paracetamol alone. (Us daughters seeking out & contemplating aids for living knowing that unless they are beautiful as well as functional, then as soon as possible they will be consigned to the garden shed.)I was presented with a bacon sandwich at my desk, in hoped for exchange for a can of spam. Seems my Costco spam slab has slipped into hiding somewhere, dashit. (Happily no one demanding bacon sandwich back.)Aw, scouts decorating Yule logs (evidence online) - some remembered to roll the lump of red icing into a berry shape & some did not. Still, parents & siblings watching in happy anticipation - Scouts for the win!Artist in residence painted a card for mum, his brother is taking fierce umbrage at having to think of his own words... [Finally posted!]I say, the Cricket Tea is at risk? I understand that in times of Covid many civilised habits have had to be shelved but I had hoped the Cricket Tea was relatively safe. The exercise bands arrived during the family zoom - some bemusement some belly laughs as my parents struggled with the idea of varied resistance elastic bands to play with. The scantily clad model doing leg exercises - us daughters promptly told dad we expected to see him doing this.(When I don’t think Any of us are that flexible at present!) [Parents photobombed by cat who entered, hopped onto table behind them & sat watching as us daughters roared with laughter & parents blinked bemused."Look Behind You!"]In my aim to find that once & done biro, I have ordered something milled out of brass that takes either Parker or Fischer refills. The down side is it should arrive 26/12/20. Patience required!Lad doing the lugging wanted sausage roll for breakfast, so I tried to get them cooking in the little Belling - to have husband & son rise with laughter as I managed to grill them not bake them. My “rouleau de saucisse grillée” has, ahem, acquired reknown.Mum has unwillingly asked for painkillers & the stuff she was prescribed is alas causing nausea. My sisters at zoom: “mum, you look Really Awful, go to bed!” “said with great love...” [She’s back on paracetamol & “anyway the pain is less” but happily there’s none when she’s in bed with the electric blanket & a HWB - just she won’t spend long there unless asleep as she gets bored!]I went shopping “with the wrong phone” so youngest not only did all the lugging, he had to pay! (Fully refunded, but I was wholly reasonably chided for being a wazzock!)The bathroom is beginning to emerge from the masking tape & newspaper into its fully painted glory. The finish line is in sight (but the timeline isn’t!) It’ll be wonderful eventually & is meantime largely functional.A little festive brooch I ordered from eBay has arrived & I will start wearing it as part of Advent. Some days it helps to have a token against the cold & cloud & feeling a long way from everything joyful. It’s not great art but I hope to use it as an aid out of gloom.Son brought a couple of sheets of Christmas stamps in. Can’t help but love the classic Virgin & Child, this year the stained glass window from St.Andrew’s, Coln Rogers Gloucester. (Not that you escape the Saint even using 2nd class, just he’s celebrated in East Lexham, Norfolk.) [Yes, philately geek Too!]I do love to hear my chaps bickering over the pool table - half circle, semicircle & other such technicalities plus “well at least I hit Something!” As well as mumbling about having to move the spinning wheel before someone could break...A program on Italy “your woman has been cheating!” “At cards, pool?” Himself taking a refreshingly not-at-all Italian response....Some days things look a bit startling - the kettle stopped mid-brew! A good fuse is a good friend - new one in & kettle boiling again.A bit foozled by news as to me, Tigray is Caroline Bradley’s Tigre - an amazing showjumping double act of my youth.Ah Hornblower: “put the chicken back, Stiles” in tones near maternal, correcting errant child.Ye Gods, BF is triggering flashbacks - knowing exactly where & when I bought the lad's whizzy Samsung tablet made it one if the easiest bits of kit to get put back into use. His desktop is still baffling me. (I really must write the annual epistle & get it sent, in case anyone on my mailing list Doesn't Know.) Youngest got Black Friday fever, wanting a new monitor & some of his picks do not meet my requirements for a good art/graphic design tool but bless him he asked for my advice & so far is listening. Then agreed! He is happily anticipating his new monitor.Box of tiny model spaceships arrived & Himself gleefully unpacking & then naming them. My Google Search History looking very startled, but there's a happy man, and a well supported small business.Right. Health Strength Love & Courage to all as have need, painkillers that work without nausea, clear glass & bright lights to all (foggy round here) & HWBs likewise.12 -

Hello Dig
am just one of those people that has to take everything apart, turn it upside down, inside out, shake it a bit, stare at it for a very very long time............until I am happy that I 'get' it. (Mentally that is, totally useless with hands).
It has already helped because I keep telling myself that he cannot help it. I feel less stressed.
My sister used to call me 'The Why Girl'. It still makes me laugh when I remember a certain phone call. She had spent the day on the beach having her first (and last) 'Why ?' day. She did not enjoy it !
Pleased your Mum is recovering, glad you are well............and thanks for the great post.

bala excuse my butting in on the thread! There's a website called "Different Together" which you might find helpful. It has some videos and also a forum. I've been married 47 years and realised last year that OH is "on the spectrum",. I asked our children if they thought he was, they laughed and said they'd realised a long time ago but hadn't wanted to upset me.

ivyleaf..............you are lovely to post with advice.
Have a host of jobs (which I really must get on and do) but this evening will have a look. Aren't your children kind. I will not tell him as he is in his 70's and very proud. But I will adjust my thinking. I try to be loving and kind. Have a feeling that with my understanding things more, everything can only get better.
