1 Sitting on the sofa, animals playing with they toys, lovely that they are being used, balls that make noise when rolled around.
2 Watching a couple of proper old films on the talking tv channel, some are rather charming.
3 I admit I snaffled away into the fabulous book today for an hour it really is amazingly written, tempted to try another one of his books when I’ve finished this, but high expectations.
4 Cleaned the bedroom, ferret bedding all done, our bedding all done.
5 Fakeaway, cba that sort of thing, oven pizza was tea, saved by not ordering in, or along the lines of I’m not paying full price I’ve not got a voucher.

Sigh! Who knew trying to buy a blooming fridge would be so difficult! Of course it’s Black Friday which is a pain as we just need a fridge for boyo! Giving up tonight and shall try again tomorrow. Sigh!Another day another early start. Wide awake at 4am with alarm due to go off at 5am so just stayed awake. In and out by 7.30am. Same again tomorrow. So at 10am I dozed off for 15 minutes watching something! Early mornings catching up I think! Was just me and my doggy out walking after 5am...us and the robins and blackbirds.Did my supermarket shop before they put the bright lights on.Went for petrol so went into supermarket attached to that to get mums shopping ( she sent the list after I’d done mine though I’d hoped to have had it before then. Anyway...that supermarket was overcrowded and no sense of social distancing at all. Bah! Did get some primroses and cyclamen though so will plant them tomorrow, it started raining when I went to do them earlier.Went to mums who was fairly chatty ( in a moany kind of way!) hoovered and washed floors and took a huge pile of a paper out to recycle.Home. Hello dog. I’ve missed you too.Chat to friend on phone,
My boy came home ...just for an overnight as he needs to start his move tomorrow. He couldn’t get a van to hire so shall just need to do a few runs which will eat up most of his Saturday. Then has to wait in for a washing machine on Sunday ( though will get a 4 hour window) . He’s had a good first week at work. Fifteen minute drive to his new home! Makes a change from stuck in motorway traffic for an hour.Anyway he made dinner and lit the fire. I just got annoyed at the iPad and being stuck in a ‘queue’ with 50000 other people! And seriously who pays an extra £25 on top of a £30 delivery to get your ‘window’ when you can get free ‘all day ‘delivery yet they still text your’window’? So we are now going for a click and collect ...for tomorrow but it’s now saying today! Grrrr!12 -
Good evening all, just finished gaming so pleasures for yesterday...
A long chat with my sister....mostly about bucket lists and our Scottish ancestry. I've worked back as far as the Isle of Iona on my gran's side and I'd like to go there.
A chat over the fence (suitably distanced) with my next door neighbour who understood me completely when I told her that I'd like a week off from my life instead of a holiday. I've been a solo parent since the HT was 4 and sometimes the responsibilties weigh heavy. A week without thinking "I must do this" or "I need to make sure that is done" would be better than a week away
Being able to collect the HT from school. My new job means I can collect him every evening so his joints are hopefully less painful than if he had to walk home.
The HT wanted pizza for dinner so I had porridge. Quick and easy.
I'm fairly sure the Christmas shopping is all done. I ordered a book on line that I think that one of my very good friends will like. It's good to find something that fits the person.
Take care all of you12 -
1. DS1 bedroom cleared and cleaned!
2. Contents of what was cupboard under the stairs have been moved upstairs - some to permanent homes but the rest out in DAy bedroom so it still looks tidy .
3. Chat with people who live down the road when I went for a walk. People are on the whole very friendly.
4. Admiring the road it looks very pretty.
5. Steak for tea which DS2 cooked.11 -
Gosh Cranky
I totally get it. Brother took nasty fall this week. He is not only LD but full Ehlers Danlos. Have been in mild shock since then. Nothing broken thank goodness. Looking after him through this and these months that he has been here, realise more and more how much 'child' is in him. I could weep for him some days.
You're doing a grand job.

Hugs Cranky - my SiL is in the same situation as you. She was widowed just over 10 years ago when her two were 6 and 8. She also would like to take a break from her life - except, in her case, she can't take a break from herself and she's her own worst enemy...
Pleasures for Thursday
1. A walk in the park with my friend who has been in France since July. Glorious day
2. Gorgeous drive in to the park too - mist, frost, sparkly trees, blue sky
3. A cooking afternoon - someone who may or may not have been me* left the freezer door slightly open and some contents had defrosted. So i had to cook them up - made butter chicken curry and lasagne.
4. Did a big burn up in the wood burner - the CO alarm keeps triggering so we thought we'd burn any residue.
5. Family film night - my choice "The Peanut Butter Falcon". Corny but nice
(*it was me)
And yesterday
1. DS, OH and i drove into Derbyshire to go for a walk in the hills
2. Found a national trust cafe open so had lunch on their picnic tables having bought drinks and cake
3. DD had made biscuits when we got home
4. Watched the Crown and Virgin River.
5. Lamb shanks for tea as part of the great defrost...
Have a great weekend all - miserable here.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Sorry to hear about your brother Bala and glad that nothing is broken, thank goodness he has such a good sister to care for him x
For yesterday,
It stayed foggy all day, so thick at times it seemed to be pressing up against the windows so a good day to be at home.
Most of the presents ordered and on their way now, no BF bargains but made a couple of purchases from smaller retailers who make charitable donations instead, passing it on.
I did get out at one point to pick up some nets of horse carrots for the yard and a bag of peanuts for the birds, it seems to be the most popular food at the moment.
Lovely friend came with her mobile dog grooming parlour and gave small dog a clip & general spruce up. We also had a socially distanced catch up.
An Eccles cake with my afternoon cuppa,12 -
Thanks Lainey
Been a tough week. After 25 years and recently much research am convinced OH is Aspergers. So everything I have felt due to lack of remorse, 24/7 negativity, bad driving, etc was based on NOT understanding. I don't know what to feel anymore.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

Yesterday Addenbrookes-dominated again. Little change, Sister's med.pic:
Such care, such time taken. Incredible and kind. Twice weekly appts continue>2nd op. 22/12, 3rd op to remove k-wires, 11 Jan. Further late phonecalls from Sister who saw mixed msgs. & is so, so fortunate. At last understand work was 'major surgery', if only on thumb. Don't want permanent inner metal wing to snap by misusing during slow bone re-build/rejoin/heal. Now understand this would be curtains for thumb. So, re-done splint stays till Jan - wait and see after.

1. Freezing fog, car temp -2.5⁰C. Long slow gloomy drive to P&R. Cold, foul, damp all day, inc. 4 buses. Osp aspect, being able to do so:-), A* world-class care:-) also clocking just over 1 mile indoor corridor walking each way:-)
2. In pitch dark, young people from down the way(also targeted in asb) came along and emptied car for &, unlocked gate(tricky atm) and brought everything in, inc. 16kg birdy munch into fliptop bin.
3. Handcream - skin's been suffering, told to use now, carefully. Hooray.
4. Lush late supper - Emporium saumon en croûte+quick m/w combi of courgette, mushrooms, all rtc.
5. Sparked by posts here, & treated self. 'Christmas Chronicles' arrived yesterday. Love the end papers+boards even before reading. Yes, a treasure. Another postie card says sthg waiting - the new Sandi Toksvig:-) Grauniad gift book also en route - & supports dear grauniad in small £oap way.
I value their guiding ethics and principles+not murdoch. Have spent a happy hour early this morning reading this and, definitely, ALL the comments:-) -

6. Listening to ladies' cricket final, Sydney, on r5x. Interesting hearing Oz news bulletins during innings breaks, as right now. Also trying to check Oz connections, S.A. and W.A., via grauniad Australia links to fire alerts. 350 acres Adelaide hill grasslands went up near C's yesterday, during 42⁰-45⁰ heatwave. Just hearing warnings reiterated for Melbourne, mhags.

Noting all the growing up changes in osp households:-) Noting also the need and care concerns so prominent in others' - Cranky, bala, house elf, Frith, PK, bop+bopsie, nargle, salad, all who lurk, or post and omit these feelings.
Thinking of you, Suffolk Sue.
Special thanks to Frith, who linked this elsewhere. It's fantastic! Watched and listened twice, thinking of mr piano and you, DD, when seeing the NY organist's closing flourish:-) Ely's there, too. In earliest months of Northern hemisphere arrival, with Danish Great-Uncle Axel, & heard the incredible reverberating Buxtehude. Unforgettable.

And of course & is keeping up, patchily but ok, with the final tri-nations. 10-0 at halftime, should be more. 2nd half, we are going great guns, at last: 31- 0. WIll Jordan - 2 brilliant tries in 2 minutes, off the bench in the 2nd half. We've been screaming at useless Foster to put him on all season.
