Oh ampersand! But when DH was ill our kind vicar told me " People want to help. You are being kind to them if you let them" I bet Coach was pleased he could help you. And others will be.
DS rang on his way to work. He was grumpy.
DH was going to meet his friend in the park. He was grumpy because it was raining.
So it was a relief when my non-grumpy bubble friend called in for coffee. We had a good natter and tried to get our heads round the Christmas bubble system.
DH came home and wasn't grumpy anymore. He hadn't dissolved in the rain.
Pork steaks followed by blackberry and apple crumble for tea. I love crumble, and it's so easy to make.
Happy ☔day everyone

Hello.was up and out early this morning to do catering and to get full use of kitchen before others come in. Nice in the peace and quiet.Pottered around quietly as DD2 was doing an online exam. Cleaned downstairs windows inside. Washed patio doors outside.
Hoovered car. And re sorted seats as I’d had the seats down the other day and hadn’t put them up ( mainly because it’s been constantly pouring! However today we had dry! Hurrah!
Son called me on his lunch break so had a very quick chat.Did about 10 minutes in the garden picking up leaves.Just had soup for tea.14 -
Evening all
Take care Ampersand
Happycas - does that mean you have a grumpy bubble friend?
Pleasures for today
1. No work - though i did a small bit of paperwork but t'was only 10 minutes
2. Had a kitchen potter this morning - made 7 jars of marmalade (from the mamade tin) and a batch of spicy carrot and lentil soup.
3. had a soak in the bath with my thoughts and my book
4. yoga
5. just had sausages for tea - nicely spicy cumberland sausages.
Have a lovely evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
1 A dreadful nights “sleep”, 2 hours sleep and up, washing loads cycled around, managed 2 lots.
2 Ferret areas deep cleaned.
3 Moved the meal plan by a day to use up sausages and followed”ish” a hairy biker recipe for sausage casserole, added dumplings to make it a one stop pot.
4 I found a few things I was looking for easily, thanks to clearing some bits down, but I have still lost my previous book which had a great book mark in. I know I’ve seen it, if only I knew where.
5 I’ve managed to pick up something for DH on a BF offer, it’s some money off something that I have been going to get him for 2 years now. So that’s good it will be snaffled away for I’m not sure if it will be his op or for Christmas yet.
6 Checked on our finances and cancelled our online shop next week as we still have plenty in the freezers, and found some long life oat milk I’m going to try and use up in the porridge.

1. Slept fairly well for me.
2. Work at a different site so was an improvement. Had a laugh at lunch time with a very random conversation which everyone is involved in. At my normal workplace there is no normal conversation but dominated by a couple of people and false laughter.
3. Not a pleasure but it is now five-year filled in application to change the new garden we have to garden status rather than agricultural. Not hard to do but costs £472 plus admin fee!! It says on the form it may require a site visit it better do for that price!
4. DS2 cooked stirfry which was good. Very tasty but as DH not keen he had our and mash.
5. Started writing Christmas cards. Pleased to have started.
Waiting to hear which tier we will be in - should be tied 3 here but who knows.12 -
For yesterday,
The fresh, clean smell of eucalyptus and mint after I had cleaned the bathrooms.
A tiny wren in my pot of succulents obviously looking for insects, often heard in the garden but rarely seen.
A big bowl of veggie soup with still warm bread for lunch.
Am still persevering with current book but hardly engaging at all, pleasure will be when it’s finished.
Technically it was today but woke up at 2.50am for loo break and saw a three quarter moon setting on the horizon, coloured pink from the sun on other side of our planet, stunning.

Agreed, re: Jenny Wren, Lainey. Saw current regular one this morning as I ate brekkie orange - osp, definitely:-) They have a huge song out of all proportion to their tiny size.
1. Managed to grind new coffee beans with stick blender.
2. Reading Steve Burrows' 'A Siege of Bitterns', signed pb, bought from that excellent Scotsdales' shelf at some point this year :-)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Burrows
3. Seeing+hearing online some wonderful swearings-in of new NZ Labour MPs. Hope and promise.
4. Bop's b/w pics. & completely lacks camera affinity or skill. Martin Bond's 'A Cambridge Diary' is wonderful and generous - a daily Cambridge pic, rich tree with many branches. Recommend. Then, seeing many pics from NZ friends(F - professional photographer and Lecturer, ex RNZAF) in Turkey a week now, taken aback by rubbish, filth, mess on land, in watercourses, pollution everywhere. Both are disheartened by it, when they're meeting good people and just can't square an obdurate circle.
5. Listening, all sorts. Radio. Outside. Right now, Sir David Attenborough on the largest bird egg known, from Madagascar....as is London friend, so will alert him to it. Includes NZ moas, too - wiped out by the 17th century.
6. Amazing sunsets since last week.

Good afternoon all. On first read I though PK was making porridge with long life cat milk. I must wear my reading glasses
Sorry that I've been MIA, I was a bit under the weather for a week but I'm ok now.
Yesterday's pleasures...
Feeling so much better than I have been (not covid, I think I have an ulcer, I've had to stop my arthritis medication).
Home made gingerbread biscuits, yum.
I took my pc apart and cleaned the inside because the fan was running constantly. Then I did the HT's pc too. He has a big gaming rig and there was part of a spider web in it! The pleasure is beng confident enough to do the small jobs like this myself.
Online gaming with best friend who is not at work this week so was available mid week. Also yay. The HT played with us too. Even bigger yay!
Asda had cat litter. My delivery said there was none available so I went to the small local Asda and luckily they had some. There are lots of things that this household could survive without. Cat litter for the HT's 11 year old cat is not one of them.
Take care all of you and rest that hand &13 -
Oh I forgot sorry....DfV I hope your mum is OK? A hug for anyone else who needs one too. I don't usually go far from home or see many people anyway but I'm fed up not being able to see the ones that I do call on if you know what I mean.12
