Happy birthday for yesterday, PK - better finish off that cake, wouldn't want it to get stale!
Pleasure for today (Wednesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK and I took them some porridge.
3) Did lots of washing and cleaned the bathroom.
4) Bigger son came home just after lunch.
5) We went into town to get smaller son's eczema prescription and had a look round the charity shops - didn't buy anything.
6) Chops for tea with roast vegetables and gravy.
7) All watched I'm a Celebrity.
8) Smaller son got his homework done including 2 nasty questions that took us a while!
Got to be up early tomorrow to double check smaller son's cookery stuff is packed (Chelsea buns) then go as quick as possible to Autism West Midlands for a course there. Sadly not enough time to get from there to the Christmas market as I need to be back for parent evening.
Talking of checking school/college equipment - I waved to bigger son as he drove to college the other morning and ended up banging on the window and gesticulating (he couldn't hear). He got down the lane, tried to shut his visor - and had forgotten to put his helmet on!0 -

Happy birthday PK
1. Had a mammogram. In and out within 5 minutes and arrived back at work and boss told me to go for it. The pleasure was it was quick, the van is 20 seconds from work and a gives me peace of mind as my sister and my Mum have both had breast cancer.
2. Had a tasty, healthy lunch of couscous salad. Chocolate came to follow as someone's birthday - not as healthy.
3. Chat with old friend at work. I only see her rarely about once every three months but always good to see her. We work in the same building and live in the same village and meet bump into each other in London, at airports and in other random places.
4. Feeling cosy indoors while listening to the wind and rain outside.
5. Reading my book.0 -
1) Massive pot of mushroom and lentil curry in the fridge, no cooking tonight (just doing basmati in the instantpot). Also have soup in the freezer for lunch tomorrow and Fri night will be more curry. Hoping I won't have to cook til Saturday eve now - yay!
2) Going for a 5k run with work friend at lunch today
3) Looking forward to my salad today. I have romanesco in vinaigrette, hummus, olives, pickled cabbage, toms, cuc, lettuce. Yummo!
4) French class tonight. Skipped last week, so must go. I have done 1/2 my homework - should get other 1/2 done tonight!
5) It's Thuuuursday. It's also DHs paydayNice that they are 1 week apart as I get two days to budget all the money every month!

Belated Birthday wishes to PK
MandM that salad sounds yum
Wednesday pleasures,
Lulu had the farrier, she was reasonably good despite how windy it was and stood still. Interesting conversation with farrier, he travels the world with one of the big racing yards and has many  tales to tell!
Home and the washing machine had been delivered :j at last can start to tackle the washing pile, it plays a tune when it's finished but suspect the novelty will very quickly wear off
Tried to do some tidying in the garden but the strong wind soon sent me back in, ended up watching old film and drinking Ovaltine.
Mid-week roast of pork belly with roast parsnips and a pile of veg, no inclination for pots.
Went to bed leaving Capt S downstairs awaiting start of the cricket.0 -
Belated birthday wishes to PK.
Welcome back Frith
I think i am in a minority re Enid Blyton...:( She's not as bad as Beatrix Potter though, i really can't stick her.. :rotfl:
Pleasures for Tuesday
1. Made banana bread, to use up some over ripe nanas. And my boy was coming home so it'd get eaten :rotfl:
2. DD and I had breaded fish and chips for tea. Nice and easy. OH was at footie with DS
3. Boy came home for the night - he couldn't get back to Liverpool after the footie.
4. Getting the hang of voice recognition to transcribe my interviews - though some of the things it comes up with are :rotfl:
5. Washing was blowing on the line - it didn't dry but I do like to give it a blow.
And yesterday
1. went out for lunch with friend. Haven't seen her since i left her house in France in August. She is back for the winter, so hopefully regular lunches.
2. then 'second lunch' with DS before he went back to L'Pool. He is having 'girl trouble' and it's nice to talk it through with him. She is stringing him along, I think.
3. Walks to and from station - i know it is unseasonably mild, but i loathe the cold so that I am rejoicing.
4. Did the ironing watching 'Endeavour'. I have missed out on this, and have started from season 1 episode 1 - this was episode 2. And OH now has decent shirts for work.
5. As i was so stuffed from 2 lunches, I didn't want tea. DD was (mockingly) outraged that she had to cook her own....
I am on the train to London for a late lecture - am hoping to buy lunch at the street market..... have a nice day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1 Galaxy Birthday cake was a starter tonight <goes off whistling>…
2 Day in the office all done, I ran a workshop I was very nervous but apparently it went well.
3 Visit to dad who was on remarkably good form, despite his calls to me at midnight, 1am, 2am and 4am last night ho-hum..
4 I looked at black Friday deals for things we want and couldn’t find anything!
5 We were supposed to go out food shopping tonight as the fridge is sad, but we didn’t, kind of moneysaving.
6 The poor diet, chocolate cake, chocolate gelati, tomorrow holds a take away also but they are still a pleasure0 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) A training course at Autism West Midlands in Brum which was good and the drive there not too taxing (not so the parking which is a shambles).
4) Smaller son's parent evening. A rare triumph amongst parent evenings! All OK and they want him to do the higher level maths paper - the only member of the Frith family, both immediate and more distant, to attempt to get more than a C! (Or a 5, as we must call it now).
5) Had an explore beforehand including the abandoned fives courts!
6) Watched I'm a Celebrity and ate the Chelsea buns that smaller son had cooked at school.
7) Bigger son went out to a games night with my brother and brother in law and has just got back.
A busy day again tomorrow as I am going to see my great aunt and try and help her sort her finances out a bit. :-/ She has not kept on top of them (and other matters) recently.0 -
Thanksgiving is a really big deal in the States and this year we were looking at not having much of a celebration because I am still non weight bearing on my foot and in a wheel chair. My son happened to see an old work colleague at the grocery store and told her he was helping care for me these last 4 weeks. She ask about Thanksgiving plans and of course there were none. Last night she surprised us with an entire home cooked turkey with all the trimmings plus a pumpkin and pecan pies. We were blessed beyond belief at her generosity and kindness. And we have delicious leftovers for many days to come!Overprepare, then go with the flow.
