Wow DfV. I've heard of three part novels, but yours ran to four!! Am now in awe of yr typing skills as well as yr organisation. Happy birthday, belatedly. Sorry it caused a wobble, but unfortunately that always seems to happen at special times.
The cafetiere is from Ama#on. It's a nice chunky design and ,as DrVJ says, keeps the coffee warm. Brand name is Kichly. We like it.
Been feeling sorry for myself here about being in tier 2. I don't mind almost any restrictions but I hate being unable to see family. Anyway, I gave myself a strict talking to, counted my many blessings and am ok now! This too will pass.
Yoga was still on today so that helped. Then went with friend to garden centre and sat outside with coffee and cake. Was a bit chilly but we'd both wrapped up well so it was fine. And it didn't rain either.
Hope everyone is well.
Happy what's left of Wednesday everyone

I feel for you. Am sure it will be me next judging by the amount of people that can't be bothered to wear a mask. Glad you had a good day in spite of everything.

Evening all.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Teaching was OK - definitely need to start mixing it up more. 'Whiteboard' on 'Teams' worked quite well however
2. Finishing early due to how i'd arranged the sessions
3. leftovers for lunch - my favourite meal (as in leftovers per se, not especially the sausage and cauli cheese i'd had from the night before)
4. OH cooked a stir fry that i didn't want but quite enjoyed (damning with faint praise!). it used stuff up too.
5. Family film night - DS's choice. A pretty violent but watchable film about the Krays
And today
1. Reading DforV's epic post.
2. Meeting friends and their puppy for a walk and a picnic. One friend made delicious sausage rolls. Yum. they got a jar of chutney in exchange
3. Yoga
4. Cleaned the bedroom and changed the bed - clean sheets to look forward to.
5. OH is cooking dinner - they're having lamb which i've gone right off. I'm having a halloumi burger with the same trimmings..
Have a good evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Hello. Bedtime! Hurrah! Was a day that went on for blooming ever! Did an extra shift at work ( that shall pay for one new tyre) and it was a tad busy and we were one staff down. Anyway done until tomorrow when I’m going in for a quick (I hope) hour to do some catering.
Anyway. Nice doggy walk first thing. Still dark. Wooly hat on. Chat with someone I used to dog walk with.Washing hung out. Stayed dry till just as I pulled up in driveway.
Some more tips to add to the jars...though not proportionate to how busy we were! But every little helps.Home...aaaah ( and a boo by the son) hello doggy. Hello hot shower and jammies and hello fire.Chat to DD1 on phone.
then chat to DD2 when she came in from work.13 -
1 We got stuck over the bridge, it was gridlock, we couldn’t even get out of the car park so we didn’t try, instead we walked across to the Range haven’t been in one since Feb now, and sat and had a cup of tea and toastie meal deal. Nice not to worry but made the day a lot longer.
2 We were pleased to get home and the animals happy to see us, our little humbug is on meds and looks all mournful as if we are late on purpose.
3 Went to a zoom workshop about Psychiatry and it was fascinating, I’m really glad I went.
4 I have an animal snuggled right into my left side so all is well, he’s like a little hot water bottle.
5 I might be watching a Christmas movie.

Went down memory lane today for our mum. My brother and I met our sister and Mum to go to a place her father took her 66 years ago just before he died. It is still a tea-shop/restaurant in Kew. She was very close to her father so we were more than happy to do this.
Mum and sister had Cream teas, tiny sandwiches (including cucumber) and scones. I had ploughman's (half of which came home with me) and my brother had a steak pie with all the trimmings. It was good. I was glad to get us out of the house because both of us prefer staying home for various reasons. He still remains slightly tense and will not go anywhere near people that are not wearing masks. I am glad in a way because it means that I don't have to worry as to whether he has understood the seriousness of this virus.
Tiggy hadn't eaten (she won't eat for 8 to 12 hours when I am not at home) and as soon as I came through the door she went potty and wee-weed on the floor. Thankfully on the tiles in the kitchen and not on a carpet. We were out for about 5 hours. You would think I had been gone for weeks. She is snuggled up to me glued to my side. I love her so much.
My Uncle still in hospital. Catheter causing discomfort/pain. I am just relieved that he got through the operation. He is so thin. He is good at keeping in contact.
Suffolk Sue you have been on my mind today. No rhyme or reason but hope you are still reading this thread.
Cranky, hope you too are well.

Not posted for a couple of days. Here are some in no particular order.
1. Free lunches at work. Especially needed this month as been expensive so far!
2. Work has been busy so easier to ignore people. Today is my last day for a week.
3. Went for a walk to collect chestnuts. Very sociable as talked to 4 people a couple of whom I hadn't seen in ages. It was good catching up on some news. It was also good being in the fresh air.
4. Managed to drive down my road without having to reverse. The main road in the village is closed for water leaks. I live on a narrow road with passing places and so many people can't reverse especially people with big cars. It amazes me that people in 4x4s won't go on the mud but expect me to. I have nearly got stuck in the past.
5. Been using good from the freezer and veg from the garden where possible and some good meals.
6. DS1 still at home but happily is accepting the delay so far. Think it helps with a new girlfriend.

For yesterday,
Text chat with DB and DSIL, tentative plans made to meet up for lunch next week, tier dependent of course!
Worked equine girlie in the school, she was a tad lethargic but that can happen this time of year when winter coats are coming through.
Busy afternoon which included making a loaf and filling the cake tin with ginger cake, beloved’s favourite.
The renaming of a Liverpool pub, will leave it there!
Mid week mini roast of stuffed chicken thighs with root veg mash.14 -
Bala - sounds like a good trip out. You're very wise to go while you can!
Lainey - hope you're able to meet yr DB and SIL next week
Today
Happy haircut day. Only the second time this year. Still very plasticky but a little more relaxed feel to it all. He says they are nowhere near back to the numbers they were pre lockdown. I've been going there for ages and am sad to see them struggling.
Bought lots of bits and bobs while in town. Who knows if I'll be able to go next week?
DH friend coming round this evening to sit in the garden and chat. I shall join them for a few minutes but I know I'll soon be too cold! I'm nesh!
Watched the new David Copperfield last night. Was good fun, but probably better if you hadn't read the book. A cheerful bit of escapism though, and nothing wrong with that!
Happy Thursday nearly teatime everyone
