Mhags pleased DD2 is negative.
1. Went to Wisley for the morning. We walked a different route there which I enjoyed. Managed to stop DH buying a coffee.
2. At home spent time in the garden. Weeded in the area under the trade-off getting rid of dock leaves and dandelions mainly.
3. Text conversation with a friend.
4. The double glazed doors that next door had delivered o out in at front of house have gone. They wanted to put them in at the front of the house. Hoping that an offer has been made in the house.
5. DS2 finished cooking tea. I had marinated the chucked drumsticks.15 -
Pleasures yesterday.....
Usual walk with dog, very quiet in the park. Dog with tennis ball in mouth ran down into little stream, came out a few moments later wet through and minus her ball. I was about 50 yards away from her and I shouted "where's your ball?" whilst having my arms wide open in an exaggerated, exasperated gesture. She turned round, went back into the stream and retrieved her ball. Clever girl!
Managed with son's help to remove old front door bell and fix new one which actually works. Sons are handy when you encounter tiny little screws that just won't play nicely.
Tasty lunch of sausages, Yorkshire puds, veg and gravy, followed by strawberries and cream.
Bit of gentle pruning in the garden, because garden waste bin gets emptied today. I have paid for garden waste collections so I am damn well going to use them.
Enjoyable practice singing choir songs. I can't wait for us to get back to proper physical rehearsals and doing performances.
Time spent in neighbours' house in the afternoon, having a good old "put the world to rights" session. Their older daughter was 15 yesterday, and really delighted with the prezzies I gave her. Some lemongrass and ginger body wash, a little perfume spray, two packs of fancy chocolate cookies, a set of scented candles and a little plaque saying "Time to make your soul happy." All in a pretty cloth bag. I wrap birthday gifts in tissue paper and put in a reuseable bag.
Time to to myself in the evening as son went out. Watched a programme about canal boats, very idyllic sounding but the reality can mean hard work at times.
Hearing a friend who had an operation last week is back home being well cared for by her family.
Hearing from gardener - his chaps coming this morning to tidy up the hedges and bushes, which have grown rampant. One life - your life - live it!16 -
For yesterday,
Bad night sleep wise so up early, took cuppa out into garden and that’s where beloved found me an hour later, cutting back the thyme in pjs.
Bacon butties then Archers omnibus, although wondering why as currently not that entertaining, followed by more pottering in the garden.
Lunch was beef as requested by beloved, only small piece as I’m not keen and that way no leftovers to deal with.
Listened to the first episode of the Boss’s radio programme, very poignant.
Evening walk followed by a lovely hour sitting in the garden, book in one hand, cool drink in other, something to tuck away in memory bank for those long, dark nights.
Watched the Edge, programme about Ashes winning side, Strauss, Cook and all.15 -
Hello everyone
Mhagster - Glad the result was negative
Bop - re yoga - nothing wrong with bendy knees and you get a nice little lie down at the end !
Good day yesterday
Went out for breakfast with DD and her partner. First meal out in forever. All very civilised ( and distanced and screened) and much enjoyed
DS son popped in mid afternoon for a chat and to eat all our biscuits!I
BBQ for tea. No cooking for me, unless you count potato salad and coleslaw, and no kitchen to sort out. A rare treat lately.
Happy 🌞 day everyone

Haven't posted in some while....vvv busy and save catch-up reading here as an osp! This one has been in 2 sittings, past midnight and just now:-)
Some recent & osps -
1. Early a.m London again yesterday, back to friends' church. Had things to take and collect for very current and particular 'birds with broken wings'.
A wonderful day! - drive, being away from asb, weather, real friendship, sharing, gardening in their churchyard after, real conversations, pic together:-), much more.
2. Bop - translated your last post and glad to note our shopping ventures are in accord. Repeat, Axdi jaffa cakes and dark choc wheatens are superior to all other comers, apart from their 27p and 49p attractions. Nice rtc10p on emporium chillis and scotch bonnets were hot stuff on Friday. Saucy & was v.busy making 12 bottles - 6 churchyard plum +6 fiery devils. Talk about labour-intensive! Broke 1 heavy duty scraper mushing stuff through sieve. Each mix took near 2 hours to squidge through! Son of Frith's excellent wooden spoon used when I eventually knew it was the only implement that would cope. Maybe donated several grain layers... but all natural fibres and job done:-)
3. Took 1 of killer firebrand as & challenge to Alma landlord after chat from last week's lock-in chat. Taste approval! D loves tongue on fire:-) Bar staff agreed. As Mrs Alma is due to drop son no.2 in a fortnight, and father said she'll love it, too, effective delivery agent is forecast in case of further high 30⁰C heat.
4. Have relished various droppings in at rugby club in the week. Good people. Good attitudes. Good fun activity - rugby tennis, youngsters' special training fun days, all age families together evenings.
This apart, Scotsdales over the road meant 2 extraordinary 50p rtcs last week - a big net of top notch planting onions AND a ½cwt sack of brilliant Fen Tiger seed potatoes! Have been sorting and sharing since. Must plant my own at some point soon to have h-g taties at crimbo:-) Yes, 7 in churchyard yesterday.
Have just boxed clever and saved post! A rare pleasure - copied and just re-pasted:-)
Will now finish with osp no. 5, 2 more pics.
- 1st 2 ripe figs spotted yesterday, Yum, consumed. &'s self-mocking arty-pharty still life pic on an early D.Sharp signed Rye plate, treasure to those who know/love Studio pottery.
- butterfly to identify. He landed just before I headed to London and was looking+listening in the dawn world I love.

Quite a few times I have watched Flo sitting on the fence eating away and have been bemused as to where she has her stash.
Last night all was revealed (yes, I have become a late night diner ! ).
We have cement posts for our fence panels. She collects from the table and fills the gap in the channel that the panels slot into. She then sits on the fence and eats safely at her leisure.
She has her own PEZ !..................tee-hee

1. OH and i went on our 6 mile circuit across the fields
2. Sorted out the area where the log store is going.
3. Lunch in the garden
4. OH cooked paella for tea
5. Family film night, first one for a couple of weeks. DS's choice "National Treasure" - enjoyable nonsense.
Have a great day allI wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Well spotted Bala and clever Flo to utilise posts for buffet. Thanks for the PEZ memory, had forgotten all about them until you said, they acted as currency at school.13

She is clever Lainey. Have a feeling that she is not that young. Her equanamity when Fluffy is yelling at her for food is a sight to behold. She also keeps putting a 2 pence piece in her water bowl. Then she takes it out again. Must like flavoured water................ ;-)AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
