Dad of Frith is not going to spoil the new dog. She is going to be a sensible, working lurcher.
.
.
.
Also dad of Frith...
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens OK.
3) Not only managed to get a replacement shower from FB marketplace, but the man rushed out to post it and photographed and messaged me with proof of postage.
4) Dad of bigger son's school friend will come out to fit the shower next week.
5) Bigger son completed his video of the museum and I posted it on their FB volunteers page.
6) Went to the garage, where everyone is always chatty and jolly, and the car isn't as bad as I thought. I've managed to break another coil spring (2 in 6 months - thank you, appalling roads of Shropshire) but the worn wheel bearing and everything else can wait until the MOT. He said to leave that as late as possible to the end of the MOT extension (December). The car is 16, so he may decide at that point it is beyond MOTs...
7) Popped to see my parents and my dad's school friend was there. Talked to the puppy a bit.
8) Went to see my neighbour about the planning officer forgetting to give all our complaints to the developer. She is going to phone tomorrow.
9) Roast pork etc for tea.
10) Went out to the foot of the Clee Hills with the drone. Smaller son also came with us and was very happy.

Enjoyable walk at local country park around the lake (old gravel pit). Lots of geese and 🦆
Picked blackberries
Made crumble with above and windfall apples from the garden
Made a chocolate cake (son’s 33rd birthday today). How did that happen!
A nice relax in the hot tub with Rod Stewart (on the headphones 🎧)
enjoy the ☀️13 -
Frith, can't find the words. 'Covetness' would probably cover it. Nothing like a baby sleeping, human or animal. My Murphy was a brindle which is why no-one wanted him. That and his bat ears. The owners even sold him to us cheap when Staffies were going for serious money. We ended up with a dog with the sweetest temperament and the attitude of a sloth. And so so very loving. I will always miss him.
Fed the birds at the crack of dawn............and they were all there within seconds. Am definitely being watched !
Had a good long chat with 2 friends, a married couple. They both phoned me separately on 2 different days. I have known the man since I was 12, the wife the last 20 years. They are such a good match. Both lovely. It was really great to hear from them. Much laughter.
Am taking Tiggy out now before it gets too hot.
Suffolk Sue.........big hug.
Have a wonderful summers day

Good morning
Well, our forecast ' best day of the week ' is actually drizzly!
Lainey, I had to look up your weekend festival ( not going to try to do spell it!). Very interesting. Will pick a small bunch of yellow and orange flowers on Saturday to have inside.
No more hedgehog sightings. I wanted to buy some hedgehog food but DH said if we feed him, he won't eat all our slugs and snails! Meanie! But he does have a point. There seems to be fewer of them around, chomping on the Solomon's seal and hostas.
Finished cushion making. Have to plan next venture. Might be a bag.
Exciting news. Yoga starting again on Monday. Smaller groups, so will cost a bit more but I don't care! Will be glad to be back. It's not just the yoga, it's the hint of normality again.
Happy damp Thursday everyone14 -
Good morning all....busy day yesterday so ran out of time. Pleasures....
1. The weather was a little less like winter so
2. I did my morning exercises and the HT did his, then we had a quick cuppa
3. I did the ironing. Well as much as I could before I ran out of hangers. I do have more but acquiring them from the spare room cupboard means moving stuff. I will do that later as I still have 4 things that need ironing and leaving them lying around will irritate me.
4. That took until lunch time. After lunch I went out in the back garden. Cut the grass and weeded.Back in for exercise session number two and another quick cuppa afterwards.
4. Out in the garden again. I've made a start cutting down all the conifers from next door that are hanging over the fence. If the garden dries from the overnight rain I'll do some more later.
5. Burgers from the butcher with chips and salad for dinner. No fat or weird stuff comes out of these burgers when they're cooked. Yum!
Shower and pjs on and sat and watched some youtube clips of hotels in Memphis. Not going yet but when we do go (after saving up for many months) we'd like to go somewhere else as well. Not New York - we're leaning towards LA. Does anyone else have any ideas?
Bala I love that you're the star feature of "hoomanwatch".
DD Liverpool you say. You'll be able to give me a wave.
Take care all of you15 -
Good stuff HappyCas
For yesterday,
Coffee, good coffee for those days that follow sleepless nights.
Did crack on with cleaning bathrooms and made a pot salad plus hummus for lunch.
Lunged equine girlie, she worked well and was rewarded with several of her favourite blackberry flavoured treats. Love how she smacks her lips in enjoyment.
Saw mama deer and fawn feeding near the hedge in the evening, they must have seen me too as both stared towards the cottage.
Watched and enjoyed the POG dog programme where he caught up on previous stories, the owners all looked so happy you sometimes wonder who rescued who.

Morning all
Pleasures for yesterday.
1. Good sleep - had woken stupidly early (s0dding seagulls) but popped in earplugs and put on an eye mask and got another couple of hours.
2. Went for a stomp round the seafront (it had started to rain). Was planning to go to the wool shop to get some more wool so that i could continue crocheting my blanket - it keeps me awake watching the TV and will come in handy as an extra bed cover on very cold nights. Wool shop was shut but then i found a couple of balls in a cupboard. Also
3. ran into a friend on the sea front who'd brought his partner and her mother down. He hadn't realised i was still here as he knew OH had left. Had a little chat until the rain got too heavy. The only people i spoke to face to face all day.
4. Work is coming on - it is not a pleasure but i am hopeful i've cracked the last bit now.
5. Eating up the fridge and freezer before i leave at the weekend (i want to defrost the freezer). It's led to some tasty but unusual- ish meals. It is also very satisfying that i've barely had to shop - though i did go and buy some fruit and salad.
Have a grand day all - set to be nice this PM so i'm giving myself the afternoon off for a bike ride.
I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
