Hello. Bedtime. Thank goodness. Rubbish sleep last night .Builders be gone! Hurrah, porch done, apart from a bit of plastering to be done where original door was. And need flooring. Have already painted. Done two coats but will have a better idea in morning light if that’s enough. I now have a green door which closes and locks securely. Last door was most certainly on it’s last legs.Son went off on mountainous travels and has just phoned to say hello.DD2 was at work.So just a doggy and I to stay out the way. Had a couple of wet walks. But last one there was at least dry.
Heard and saw ducks overhead and then a very satisfying noise of a sploosh as one landed in the pond.12 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son went to play board games with my brother in law. He wanted to go for a bike ride so he went a very meandering route, turning a 7 mile journey into a trip of 24 miles!
3) I did washing, a mountain of washing up, tidying etc.
4) Popped out to get sacks of muck from the farm. Annoyingly, one split as I hoisted it up into the car and squirted manure water all over me. There was a sad lack of large leaves to wipe my hands with.
5) I watched a Zoom lecture about the Bromsgrove Guild, an Arts and Crafts type craftspeople collective locally.
6) Smaller son and I went into the nearest town for petrol and chocolate.
7) I made a pizza and potato wedges for tea.
8) Made brownies later.
9) Watched Holby City.
10) Ordered my sister's birthday present.
11) Nearly forgot! Still no news from the County Council... but I emailed the GP on Monday to ask for some help. I have never met her, nor indeed seen a GP for 5 years. I didn't expect her to do anything - I don't really expect professionals to be even slightly competent any more. Anyway, not only has she done referrals for smaller son, I had a phone call from CAMHS this afternoon! They were stunned that County has done nothing for so long and can't actually help in our situation but will be sending emails hither and thither and suggesting County pay for private specialised therapy in our house. A really chatty lady, we were having quite a laugh by the end of the call (I was hiding in the garden) and she needs to do the paperwork before smaller son turns 17, so there will be a quick turn around.
4 days until hens arrive.
Bigger son is going bike packing again tomorrow (to the Peak District) so I have made an extra small pizza and there will be a brownie as well. And obviously pasta etc. My brother is going to accompany him for the first 20 miles tomorrow (then he'll turn round and cycle home, which will be a feat as he's never done more than 15 miles). Bigger son has downloaded an app which plans your route along cycle paths, tracks etc and part of it will be following a former railway line in Staffordshire that I used to walk along with my Grandad.12 -
Congratulations Happycas
1. Busy morning work - made it go quickly. Was slightly annoyed with actions of people senior to me. But what's new!
2. Phoned patients in the street- told a joke by one which made me laugh.
3. Retirement presents all wrapped up and used ribbons and I think they look good.
4. Used up breaded fish fillets from freezer- DH brought them at start of lockdown and I wouldn't normally but but tasted ok and more room in freezer.
5. Drinking a coffee while walking round the garden.13 -

Over to the stables and did some ridden schoolwork with girlie, she was an angel.
Received a package in the post containing HM shampoo & soap and sender had included a packet of wildflower seeds.
Youngest DSS and lovely gf cooked us a meal, three courses and all very tasty, came home stuffed.
Small dog came too, had leftovers and enjoyed the company of some of her favourite humans.14 -
Morning all from ICT - Finally!!
Frith, what does DS do about sleeping? My DS and his friend rode the canal to Chester from home a few years back and they slept on a bench! They got the train home though!
Pleasures for Tuesday
1. Work went OK
2. A cheeky midweek gin - have given it up in the week as a rule but felt i deserved it
3. DS came to ICT and got here OK
4. Left over roast dinner for dinner - was nom
5. Me OH and DD watched four episodes of I May Destroy You - enjoyed DD's discomfort at some of the more err graphic scenes (- s'ok she was quite amused by it too)
And yesterday
1. Corrections finished and off to London - this round anyway, i'm sure it won't be it, it.
2. A walk up to my friends to post a card through her door
3. did some tidying and watering in the garden - but now it's on it's own for a week so we'll see how it gets on. (if it were flourishing, I'd have put more effort into getting someone to come in and water it - but it isn't).
4. Drive to ICT - don't often drive. Because we rarely drive anywhere i get very bored in the car, but this was fine. Lovely to see the hills again.
5. The house is OK, a little musty. The garden however  weeds!!
And, true to form, it's raining. Have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Hello
Blackbeard. The cable car museum/ workshop was OH's favourite in SF. Think he'd have spent all day there if I hadn't got bored!
Lainey. What a treat to have a whole meal planned and cooked by someone else!
Haircut at last! Strange plasticky experience - plastic covers instead of gowns, plastic box to put bag and coat in, plastic curtains between each space, weird disposable towels - but at least it's done. Bit shorter than usual too so will last longer!
Iceland order delivered with nothing missing and no substitutions. A first!
Got a new bright pink jacket from the m&s reduced rail. Not really needed but too good a bargain to leave behind.
Happy 🌞haircut day everyone

VJs Mother. Raffles is not responsible for your poor whether!
Now with good thongs in your version of the Life of BoP!
Mes and BoPsie herded into town this morning to have a bags eye around the plaice. Took me wheels for a service and eyeballed a replacement. BoPsie did get excited about a new car, but unfortunately, BoP's wheels that has bin looked well after under the service plan, again is inn good condition. New car can weight! Wheels good for another trip.
Went to the longe and had some snorkers and smoked back. Eggs and tea was drinked. Then walked round. BoPsie popped int the shoes chemist and got some tablets of iron and girl things! BoPsie headed uphill.
Took a trip round the toy shop of models, and they had to has a book on the Sepecat Jaguar. That was unfortunate as BoP refuses anything to do with that kite. He wanted to work on it when he was a little BoP and ended up on a 4 engined thing instead! Still there was a nice toy there!
Headed offs to the wobbleade emporium and gets me a coke and some things while I made mes mind up!
Phone call from man inn garage and car good to go! So decision made, no new car but a new toy! Lancaster B1 City of Lincoln. 1:72 diecast! Now on shelf with the Boulton Paul and the Spitfire. Raffles is not impressed, too big for him! I is impressed as it is now quite good on the BoP shelf! Must weight for the football and finish the Mosquito.
Now watching the cricket with for lemonfizz drink. Diet of curse! Bloomy Rhubarb we is! Asa me dad said, get them into the stocks and ...
There, that is what it is like being BoP.
It cost nothing too look after it!

Hello all, pleasures for yesterday,
Raspberries and blueberries from the garden
The HT went to school without moaning
My sister (in Ireland) told me she'd found sugar free sherbert lemon sweets in Aldi. I thought our local one may not have them but it did. Happy days. While I was there I bought my dad some sugar free liquorice to send to him in a parcel.
I made myself a veg stir fry for dinner and it was lovely. There's obviously been too much beige food on the menu lately
I had a lazy evening with youtube and online jigsaw puzzles. Totally unproductive but enjoyed anyway.
Take care all of you12 -
Cas, Congratulations, to the whole family.
BOP, After life, I’ve heard lots but I’ve not seen it as we don’t have the flix. Ohh diecast
For yesterday
1 Our buddleia is also in bloom, ironically the second beautiful red butterfly I saw landed on our hydrangea bushes.
2 There was definitely a nap involved in today, several if you count waking up and then going back to sleep.
3 I’ve not got an appetite at all recently, but we must eat so today I cooked up a breaded haddock with rice and veg cooked into it.
4 I think this lockdown has awoken a slight prepping side in me, I’m ordering in the healthy things we couldn’t get hold of but in bulk to stash, Brown rice/ brown pasta/tinned goods and clearing a shelf in the freezer for frozen veg. I hope it counts as prepared rather than hoarding but I am not sure where that line is?????
For today
1 Up very early to take our ferret to the vets for investigative ops, the last ferret we took in for a standard neuter, died coming around from the anaesthetic, so it’s fair to say we spent the rest of the day stressed and pacing. There was a nap again.
2 Used the time to watch the recorded Silent Witness films as a distraction.
3 Ordered in using a code, from our local independent.
4 Our ferret has hard masses all around his heart, so we will be giving him a lot of love and care and anything he wants. He has some painkiller just in case to make sure he’s comfy, and he’s now bald. We chatted with the lovely vet, we now have 2 ferrets that are not likely to make the week, but they have had a blast here and we know they had dodgy rescue starts and at least had a lot of fun here.
5 We wore masks today and I had noticeable trouble hearing people, as I think I use faces to read a fair amount now. Its just made it really clear now. A pleasure to take the masks off.
