Hello. A day of not doing terribly much. Bit of weeding and pruning in garden. Bit of binge watching. (Sigh!)
dropped some stuff off at a friends then went a walk round the park local to them with dog and that’s about as exciting as it got!13 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday). A bit of a strange day...
1) A lie in.
2) Spent many an hour contacting anyone I could think of about smaller son's lack of education. I messaged every relevant charity, left a message with the legal aid people to see if I could appoint a solicitor, read the pretty much immediate replies... made a new plan of action. He's been with me 24 hours a day since Jan 2019....
3) About 3pm, in the middle of all this paperwork, I checked my emails. I had emailed my MP for help and his secretary had asked for further information. I had sent that to her, but heard nothing more. Lo and behold, NINE MONTHS after I asked for a review, there was a long and slightly sucky email from County saying the MP had contacted them and they need an online meeting with me immediately to put everything into place. They had even read the professional report and want to put her recommendations in place too!!! Ahahahahahaha!
4) Had another campfire on the allotment.
5) Watched Big Brother.
6) In bed with clean sheets.

Flow the crow came to visit a few times yesterday so I kept putting food out for her. She even stopped for a chat. She had a young one in tow but sent it back home. Probably pointing out a regular food site.
And then..........2 wood pigeons mating on the fence...........thought spring was over............. tee-hee.............
My 'meadow' (read uncut grass) is still as busy as Piccadily Circus with wee birds popping in an out all day. It gladdens the heart.
Cooked Tiggy some chicken and veg only to discover that she loves the combination of broccolli and courgette. She licked the bowl to absolute submission. My new vet has given me hope as far as she is concerned. She has had so many things to deal with since November that I thought the worst. But he seems to think she's a tough old bird. This also gladdens the heart.
All the adverts from all the charities constantly remind me of my blessed life. I give thanks. And a huge round of applause for the young footballer that by using platforms available to him, managed to put the government on the right track. (Over one issue at least). Bravo !
Have a wonderful day

Home to the best news, youngest DSS has only got himself a First for his degree, he has worked so hard for the last four years and we are beyond proud of him.
Lunch was a tomato sandwich, plain and simple with just butter and black pepper.
Had a couple of parcels to send, local post office was blessedly quiet with no queues.

Art'noon
Typing typing today - will it never end... I feel like i am back at the 'rolling round the floor, not knowing what i'm doing' stage once more.
Anyhoo pleasures must be found
1. The government's U turn in response to Marcus Rashford's campaign. I was one of those children once...
2. a walk to the post office, through the peaceful cemetary. I have found at least two West Kent regiment graves - the same one as Great Uncle Charlie, who is lying in a grave in Poperinghe..
3. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for lunch and a delicious hairy biker diet book spicy bean and veg stew for tea.
4. Fabulous storm
5. Finished watching "When they see us" - harrowing, but brilliant
Have a good evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Walk round parklands at 6am with doggy and DD2. ‘Have you got a jacket?’ She asked. ‘Won’t need one‘ said I . Soaked! But it was nice and quiet and nice to ducks and swans and moorhens. Reminded me when I used to walk to work from car park when I worked on uni campus and I would say good morning to the ducks and moorhens as I walked past them.Popped into work on a mission of mercy for DD2...she had a clothing malfunction! Then into supermarket. Met a friend on way out so had a quick chat with her.
And that was as exciting as my day got. Mini storm late afternoon. Was supposed to go to mums but don’t like being out in thunder and lightning so called her instead!Son is on dinner duty.14 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Such funny weather! It has gone hot, cold, overcast, sunny and everywhere around has had flash floods. Not a drop of rain here!
3) Bigger son has gone off on his bike again and is extremely socially isolating somewhere near Portishead. He had to stop in a petrol station as it was flash flooding in Cheltenham and ended up talking to the petrol station man for ages and was given some squash.
4) A college friend of mine, teaching her 2 at home, asked Benjamin Zephaniah for some English Literature help. He replied with an especially made video for my friend's son and his class.
5) Took the empty muck sacks back to the farm. Picked the raspberries and redcurrants off the allotment.
6) Made 4 meal's worth of tomato sauce (6 tins of tomatoes in there).
7) Stewed rhubarb off the allotment and put in the freezer.
8) Made a pizza for tea with some left for tomorrow (a sure sign bigger son is not here).
9) Made some jam tarts with the LO pastry from yesterday.
10) No word from County (quelle surprise) but a nice phone call from a charity that County have phoned today to get help for smaller son. A friendly lady, who paused for a few seconds several times during our chat - she had been told to get smaller son up and running, have chats and get him into work. She said, "Oh, you're getting a lot of support and help with him". No, he's been with me 24 hours a day for 18 months and in that time my brother has taken him out 3 times for a couple of hours. Nothing else. Pause... "He's thinking what job he would like?" No, he is thinking (or I am thinking!) about GCSEs and it may be that he is too autistic to ever have a career. Pause... "So you'd need an autism specialist to help you?" Well, yes, but I am more than willing for you to come out and have a try, or I am entirely alone in helping him. Pause... So she is going to get her nice lady (who has no experience with autism, but will try) to email him and try and build up a rapport. Which is more than the County have done!
11) Had a good tidy around, cleaned the bathroom, dismantled the extractor fan, cleaned it and reassembled it. Didn't knock the screws down the toilet, as I feared I would!
12) Watched Great British Sewing Bee.
