Dundee doll - I watched Goodbye Christopher Robin ( had recorded it so could whizz the adverts). Lovely film. I almost know most of the Winnie the Pooh books by heart but going to go find them now for a reread. Just what is needed at the moment.
Cranky - the last time I gave up sugar I got dreadful withdrawal headaches. I found stopping smoking easier!!
After a cloudy morning, we had a lovely afternoon, so I sat in the garden and sorted my sewing box. Not before time as it was in a bit of a tangle. There are lots of memories in there. Grandma's darning mushroom, cards of my mum's hooks and eyes, wooden cotton bobbins. All still loved and used.I
Happy summer's evening everyone14 -
Still a bit light here and just sitting watching the bats flit and fly outside. This is what I missed in Melbourne summer. Long, light nights. It would go dark at 8pm.Friend forgot she was coming over to pick up something so was here later and very kindly gave me lovely roses! And had a lovely catch up! It’s so nice to see different humans!14

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) Used the lettuce grown in a pot in the garden for the first time. Wraps for lunch.
3) Went to the allotment to spread muck around. Picked raspberries, redcurrants and Alpine strawberries. Watered the courgettes. Still no real rain here - for 12 weeks!
4) Made leek and potato soup for the freezer.
5) Tasty tea of HM fish cakes. Meringue and fruit for pudding.
6) Watched Grand Designs.
7) Bigger son has gone to have a socially distanced disposable BBQ with one friend! There is only one friend (at home) he has seen since January, as he was in France for a while.

1 A daft pleasure, but I’m happy as our local fantastic takeaway is open and delivering.
2 The windows took a couple of cleans to get them glistening but they are clean now, and the floors are mopped so I’m calling the place cleaned.
3 The soundbar has been confusing my ears as it’s flinging music around.
4 A lay in, no rushing up on a Sunday.
5 Started an un put downable book so far, the reviews are mixed, and was sent in from DB saying I must read, The Seven lives of Evelyn Hardcastle?

DFV hope knee is improving
1. Went to visit Hyde Hall a RHS garden - enjoyed it . The roses looked good and the smell of them were superb. It looked lovely.
2. In way home we brought a base for sun umbrella so we could use it for the first time in 4 years!! DH had got too hot the day before.
3. DS2 girlfriend came round and we had another BBQ. It was good seeing her again.
4. Relaxing drink in the garden after finishing some gardening. Got carried away and cut down an elder tree which was growing in a cobnut tree. It does look better and more light in my tree area of the garden.
5. Enjoying my book.14 -
For yesterday,
Most of the day spent in the garden, the bees have discovered that my thyme is now in blossom.
Taking of herbs, gave mine a good sort and feed, also picked and dried rosemary & lemon verbena leaves, kitchen smelt wonderful.
One of the buzzards flew out of a beech tree and low over the garden, silence from the sparrow squadron.
Pulled a carrot up to see how they were getting on, perfectly formed little beauty, chuffed as first have grown!
Walked small dog in relative cool of evening, used my new ball bowler and certainly gave her a good leg stretch.13 -
Weekend pleasures - leaving work Saturday after a 12 hour shift and looking forward to two days off.
Son's credible attempt at Korean fried chicken served with rice, salad and a sweet dipping sauce. He's really getting into cooking.
Productive day yesterday, two loads of washing done and dried on the line. Fence painted, clematis plants planted, new patio area sorted.
Beautiful warm sunshine yesterday as I pottered in the garden.
Singing practice in preparation for today's online rehearsal. I went through Bridge Over Troubled Water, We Are The Champions and Footloose because that's what we're doing this morning.
Roast lamb lunch with a fine Cotes de Rhône. Halves of Galia melon with the seeds hollowed out and a shot of homemade orange, lemon and white currant vodka poured into the hollow, small sweet strawberries on the side. Still doing the fine dining thing at lunchtime, table set with best China and cutlery, two course home cooked meal, music from the CD collection in the background. On warm sunny days lunch is in the garden, it will be on the new patio area from now.
Mange touts, runner beans, courgettes and salad greens looking healthy, the climbing ones now needing to be coaxed around sticks or up fences.
Giggles watching Fawlty Towers (Basil the Rat). Son went out for a while afterwards so I had an uplifting time watching two episodes of Queer Eye.
The company of my cats and dog, and my son, I will miss him when he goes back to London, whenever that is.One life - your life - live it!14 -
Close Inn Counter?
Was Mum BoP's favourite flix. She snook inn to watch it after the war, as she was not too old to see it. Took her sister who was definitely not old enuff! Don't think she went there though!
Mhags. Stamp your foots to get the balance rite. BoP did, they gave out the sweeties thirst, hopping mad you go and not come back! Then I got the proper poppers! Quacks, the lot of 'em!
PK. Take away. We do fake aways at BoP's Pad!
Korean Fried chicken! Is that lick me sticky chicken wings? We need the recipe so it can bee approved!
Now with the version of BoP according to the ...
Had the fake roast last nite, with pan gravy and bits. Does anyone else has the jam with their chicken? BoP does, well you has cranbury sauce with turkey! Tum was rubbed.
Now finished the binge on Das Boot. Has a lot of difficult subjects to put into it, but well scripted again. Minds me of my french colleague, who's father stayed put inn Pas de Calais. June 5th 1944, all were subservient! June 6th 1944, Je suis Maquis! Long series, but very good. Cheese and Wobbleades were consumed.
Raffles, we pay his veterinary bills, has been on his perch removing birds from the flock again. It upsets BoPsie. But he knows no bounds and is propbably the worst one we has had! Three kills today. Bloody thing he is, and what does he do, sit on the sofa arm in the orangery of BoP, as if butter would not lick his paws! He is working though on the BBQ weather, details soon. So we need that Korean Buzzard recipe!
Was up at BoPsie's salt mine this morning as she had some paperwork too do. Stretched me legs and had a small walk, then did the crosswords. All done and correct! Now just the quick quizzes and found a sudoku that loads up on the mirror site as well.
Watching the aussie get thrashed at cricket. Always worth watching. As I was outs this mornings missed me elevenses, but not me chocolate covered wafer thing. Good for you!
Rite, off to make buzzard curry for dinner.- 1lb of buzzard breast!
- Chopped onion, finely! Not every time does it has too be toe nails!
- Sweetcorn.
- Korma sauce, add tom puree and chilli to taste. Why korma, well you then make it as hot as you want, not as the emporium suggest!
That is all,as I need to make sure Raffles starts to think of BBQ weather anbd not climbing into the neighbore's tree! Provisional for Sunday 28th June!
Those who do nothing, achieve nothing and become nothing!

Hello one and all
Have been sitting here for some time flumoxed as to why I couldn't leave thanks. Wasn't signed in !
Tiggy back at vet today to remove stitches from 3 lumps removed, all cancer. Stroke of luck was that I only mentioned the half pea like lump behind her ear when I took her in for the operation. Vet checked it and said it was a mole but as she was going under may as well whip it out. THAT one was melonoma...........and according to him the one, if left, would kill her.
So as stated before........all my pleasures are Tiggy and her good health.
(And reading yours, of course)
Have a wonderful rest of the day

Good evening everyone, my pleasures for yesterday...
I put the cat's medication into the cat without injury to either of us.
A friend called round to pick up some baking that I'd done for his daughter. We had coffee and a chat in the garden.
Managed to cut the grass before it started raining. The back garden needs weeding but there's lots of flowers out so it looks really pretty.
Picked a bowl of raspberries from the bush at the bottom of the garden
Online gaming and a chat with best friend.
Happycas my sewing box belonged to my great aunt. I can remember when I was very young cutting Christmas cards with her pinking shears to make gift tags. I'm fairly sure that they aren't the only thing that is older than me in that box.
Take care all of you16
