Ooh two workouts DD am still just about managing my morning Pilates!
For yesterday,
Much colder, toddled off to pet store for small dog food and found her peanut butter chew sticks which she loves.
Snap on filling up car Frith, remarkably cheap and so treated us to a tub of Mr Sparks choc crispy cakes for the weekend.
More food, this time lunch, salmon burgers and SF veg.
Not a pleasure but high winds and rain put pay to a much anticipated visit from eldest hollow legged one, one very disappointed beloved. We had a few games of Yahtzee and wine may have been opened.
Watched the A word, cracking little series.14 -
Good morning all,
Pleasures for Tuesday....
Rounded up all the plant pots that didn't have anything in them and emptied the soil into a bucket. Mixed it with some unused compost and hey presto - bucket of compost.
Repotted all the root bound plants and everything that looked likely to outgrow it's pot in the next couple of weeks.
Planted some more seeds because I had the pots, the compost and the seeds so why not?
There was hardly any chilli oil left in the tiny bottle of whatever it is from Nando's so I had a rummage in the cupboard. For unknown reasons there were two bottles of garlic oil so I spent a happy ten minutes spooning crushed chillies into the bottle that had been opened. The HT and I take turns to give the bottle a shake every time we go past but the oil is already a pleasing shade of orange
Pleasures for yesterday......
Trip out to Home Bargains for some sweeties to go with a birthday present for the HT's best friend. Bought some stuff that we needed while we were there.
Second shop was "Pests at Home" as it's known in our house. The HT bought a new ornament for the fish tank - it was the promise of the pet shop which lured him out of the house and into a shop for the first time this year. When I say he bought it actually he chose it and I paid for it but never mind.
Cleaned the fish tank, replaced the filter stuff and put the new ornament in. Fish seemed to like it and we watched him being a "fish swimming through caves" for a bit. We're easily pleased.
Third shop was M&S for a ham sandwich for the HT as there wasn't a queue. We went early and it was raining. I realise that I could make him a ham sandwich at home but apparently the ones from M&S are different and as he never asks for sweets, pop etc I have no problem treating him to a £1.50 sandwich now and then. This also meant that I didn't have to cook him any dinner as he wanted his sandwich. He'd saved it for dinner so he could look forward to it all day.
It didn't seem worth cooking for one so I had a cheese and coleslaw sandwich, assembled from the contents of the fridge and bread bin. I may have had some fruit cider to go with it. Lovely easy meal, no cooking and yummy.
Take care all of you

Banjo Day ...
Had to be done proper, best back of for rasher, squirty egg and buttered bread. Note the proper dish for the butter! Rite good and tasty this morning.
And Raffles does lick the egg as well! He is bought up proper,, even though he is not working on the yellow thing this weak! Details on the next BBQ later!
The Unibus moped was designed in 1922! It was developed after the Great war by the aircraft indusrty who were diversifying! A long time before ...
Good job & interpreted the words of Friths, I had visions of ... No singed hairs!
On with the BoPsphere!
Had the Steels takeaway. Proper Fish and Chips, and mushy peas. Proper done. Proper tasty! Got it. No sit down though. Tum was rubbed and distance was social! Good to sea the carp outlets closed for good as well. No greased chicken any more, and the money slot bookies closed as well! I am always glad these carp food places are closed.
Updated me app of authenticity yesterday and gets me locked out of farcebuck. Good job they had me phone and texted that they weres not letting me inn. Back to putah, one that works &, logged inn and sore ted! It said that mes was trying to brake inn and should I repel all boreders! BoPsie's account remains oblivious!
Minded of the time in Hardh. Me and Steve were in getting a new craft knife when local lady walked in saying she had 500 riyals stolen off her. Shopkeeper locked the door and requested assistance of the local gendarmerie. Lady was quite adamant that she knew who had pilthed the money and was remonstrating quite well. Gendarmerie turned up soon and myself and Steve were question politely if we had manged to nick her 500 riyals. A polite no, and the gendarmerie proffered that we could leave! What would happen if ...
Came back and watched the end of the run of Coffees houses, or Comedians in Cars getting Coffee. Wobbelades had been purchased and consumed, as the tax man had corrected his errors earlier yesterday!
We stayed! The Gendarmerie question the shopkeeper and the two other customers, knowing that we were witness to the pantomime! After a brief exchange of dialogue, the kind lady suddenly had a rush of blood to the head and remembered that she had not lost so much money after all! She was given a stern telling by the Gendarmerie and left with her tail between her legs. We, after a quick thank you from the Gendarmerie, were on our way again! Some days later, we met the shop owner, and his colleague, who explained that if we had not been there, they would had taken 500 riyals from the till, used their stick and ... All for around £85 at the time! That was about 1992!
Not everything is what it is, but not everyone can effect a difference. You don't know if your blind indifference would make any change, but knowing that we were the white eyes, justice that day came fair. If we had walked a different justice could had been enacted?
That is all from this BoP notes!
We all count.

More rain today so the washing remains in the wash basket until the sun returns.
Pleasures for today.
1. Watching Mr M clear out the guttering and hearing his mumbling, grumbling and cussing...it’s a bungalow for goodness sake not a 3 storey town house. But gave him coffee and cake so the Victor Meldrew persona has now dissapeared.
2. Lovely chat with DD’s making girly weekend away plans for next year....fingers crossed we will be back to normality by then.
3. Popped into the proper office and Hopefully just in time to save the plant that was looking very sad and wilted. Fortunately it’s a mother in laws tongue plant and virtually indestructible.
4. Dogs walked, just a quick one but avoided the rain. It brightened up for about half an hour about 11am so took advantage for a quick dash around the local park.
5. New windows on order, not exactly a pleasure parting with hard earned cash but they need replacing a number of them have water in between the 2 panes and it looks awful. On the plus side the holiday refund has covered the cost and replacing them has been on the to do list for over a year now.Well Behaved women seldom make history
Early retirement goal... 2026

Hello. A day of much weather today. All sorts. Currently of the lashing down variety.
Up early and went to allotment. Drove part way and walked the rest. Did much weeding about an hour and half’s worth. Nabbed some rhubarb. 2 radishes and some chives. Watched four bunnies, then three ducks waddling through. And what I think was a baby robin on my gate post.Downstairs was tidy...though now both children have managed to dump stuff.Watched MA but dozed off towards the end.Daughter came in after her first day back at work. ( hence the dumping of stuff then straight back out)
Son cooked.Went to supermarket and bought several bunches of RTC flowers and doorstep delivered to four different friends. Nice chatters along the way.
stunning rainbow...followed by heavy rain. Finally got all the excess recycling into bins. We’d been storing it in garage. Hurrah!16 -
1 We had to go out for the first time in 4 weeks, to pick up vet meds and our meds, lovely seeing the rhododendrons out.
2 Pasta bake for dinner
3 A soundbar I have been watching for 9 months now, has an offer on a refurbished one, I am planning on surprising DH with, I’m really pleased and I think he will be over the moon.
4 First dates hotel.
5 Hearing DH on the phone to his DM is also a pleasure.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son has got his bike all loaded up for a long trip tomorrow. There was some tension before the final bag appeared in the post!
3) More number crunching and the electricity/phone switches are going OK. Got some accounts to change also.
4) Turned my attention to smaller son not having had any education for a year. I email every Tuesday but never get any help with it. MP emailed, solicitor contacted, advisor swung into action. Hopefully, getting a phone call tomorrow. I've ignored the stupid email for now. I've asked for nearly a year about GCSE retakes. They agree (County Council) then you hear nothing for 2-3 months, then they suddenly suggest a back to work scheme for disaffected youths. He doesn't need to go "back" to work, he's 16 and hasn't finished school yet! To say nothing of the fact that there are only 4 people in the world he can talk to, he can't answer the phone, can't answer the door and there is a huge list of things the council are supposed to provide for him that he has never had. He has a pretty high level EHCP (for disabled children) but no one seems remotely interested.
5) Got 2 more bags of muck for the allotment.
6) Made a Polish cake. We had them growing up, though I'm not sure they are Polish in any way.
7) Did the online pub quiz.

Rainy again. The garden looks green and fresh.
Gave in and started steroids to halt scary asthma attack. Worked brilliantly as always but now I'll have to stay in for a week at least. Still, it's much better than not being able to breathe!!
Our new garden bench has been christened very well by all the rain.. Must get some teak oil.
Finished watching Filthy Rich about Jeffrey Epstein. ( steroids make my sleep pattern even worse than usual!) Not an easy watch, but well done, and fascinating. And frightening in many aspects!
New freezer arriving today. Old one is 21 years old. Still working, just, but struggling to keep temperature down in hot weather. New one is auto defrost, which will be a real treat.
Happy Friday everyone15 -
Hope you continue to feel better HappyCas
For yesterday,
Watched a video of a Norfolk nurse surprising her daughters with a reunion after being parted for over 2 months, made me cry.
The Night by Frankie Valli being played on the radio and memories of my first Northern Soul All Nighter at a sports hall in Peterborough, happy days.
Over at the yard, girlie was zesty and on her toes.....and then on mine! She trod on the right one and may have broken big toe, nothing to do but apply Arnica & ice pack.
An unexpected afternoon resting up on sofa so caught up on various blogs and woo-tubes stuff.
My DB turned up with jacket had left at his so shuffled to doorstep and chatted to him from distance, lovely to see him.14
