5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

I'm quite happy about the rain. The garden looks much better. But I don't remember anyone asking for it to be so cold!! Back to jeans and jumpers, and the heating has come on. I suppose I should turn it off - it is June after all - but it can stay on until after my shower!
New freezer settling and chilling. Will transfer food later, and I will make a list of what we have. The hard bit is keeping it updated.
Don't think I'll ever be on GB Sewing Bee. Spent most of yesterday afternoon making the straps for a lunch bag. In my defence, I didn't really have enough material and so they are almost patchwork straps, but still....
Not likely to be sitting chatting in anyone's gardens this weekend. Would have to do laps to keep warm! Back to the sewing then.
Happy chilly day everyone

Morning all - very blowy here and set to rain on and off all day. I also am considering putting the heating back on...
Blimey Frith - that was a trek for DS!
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Finished my book - trashy, frothy, chick - litty and most enjoyable
2. yoga - though i fear i will never be able to do 'standing half splits'
3. cleaned the bottom half of the house - the top half will be done today
4. Friend came round for a socially distanced coffee in the garden. She brought her new small dog - gosh aren't dogs hard work? He was funny though
5. Curry left overs for tea - yom...
Have a nice day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Another one whose heating has clicked in, tbh we had forgotten to switch off but just as well!
For yesterday,
Made a loaf, well Ken did the hard work and boy did it rise in the oven, had opened a tin of yeast rather than a sachet so wonder if that was it?
Also changed the bed, was sneaky as waited until beloved was on conference call so couldn’t nag about resting up!
Watched the 1940’s version of Little Women, very saccharine sweet at times but enjoyable all the same.
Tea was a all day veggie breakfast, very tasty.
Early night as had slept rubbish the night before and getting into clean sheets.15 -
1. Back much better
2. Long phone call with my parents.
3. Enjoyed reading my book - at times in the garden. It was warm when the sun came out briefly.
4. Zoom chat with friends. Hopefully will be able to see them next time we "meet". A few drinks may have been consumed.
5. Fish pie followed by crumble and enough left for the freezer.15 -
They'll be a cheer for it ...
Wells, we has the stake nite. Note the proper cocoa and none of that foam stuff! As I saids yesterday, to do the snake, put in a proper pan, on max, flip over to sear, then turn heat to 2 and toss every minute.
PM2DD Note the Grimsby mug! It makes proper cocoa and proper tea!
And then served up with the mushrooms and grilled tom!
As the stakes are seared, there is no juice on the plates! Note the cheese dish, was nearly empty yesterday, only the red LieSter inn there! Note Raffles food and treat box! Why we bovvers to get hims them we don'ts know!
Friths, your thrift still having cash!
LT our heating is always on the thermostat things. Not kicked inn yet, but some days inn the morning, she just trickles a glow!
Now with Your BoPshire!
The stake nite was good. And proper. Used to get the snakes from w8rs, but last one we has from there was a tad not butchered and two pieces joined! Now we get them for betetr, and less at the A1D! Then wobbleades were consumed and flix watched.
Was the flixnet thing last night, Blindspotting. Very good to watch at this time and different to things! Recommended by BoP! Got another voucher for the Rat flix channel, so will be looking shortly.
Watching the cricket again as we are stuffing the Aussies. Good to get the commentary up so I knows when the wickets, sorry the fours are sent from the bat!
Done tasty wings of buzzard for supper this evening, dark treacle, chilli, garlic, termites, tom puree and as I has no lemon, some orange juice used instead. Will be grilled later. As expressed, Raffles is unable this weak to do the BBQ weather! He is currently resting at our neighbores.
Had the usual snorkers and best back this morning. With mushrooms, tatties, poached egg, grilled toms and some SpagYetti! Tea was drinked! Tum was rubbed.
That is all, Jenny gives ato the needy, Keep Faves!
There, comes across, bounces one and leaves!

Pleasures today.......
Lie in because not at work. Two cats and one dog on bed with me.
Mixed sunshine and showers whilst walking with dog, dog having massive fun chasing the ball.
Two big lots of washing done, the beauty of an empty laundry bin. I know I have had to use the tumble dryer today but it has taken the chill out of the kitchen.
Dust, polish, vacuum session in living room. I changed my hearth decoration to the summer solstice one, itsa comin' soon.........
Mushroom omelette, fried potatoes and bacon for lunch followed by home made bread and butter pud with custard. This evening we will have cheese on toast and fresh strawberries, maybe some yoghurt and chocolate too.
Looking forward to a hot shower and clean PJs this evening, followed by a film on TV.
Tonight we both (me and son) have clean sheets on our beds, sprinkled with lavender essential oil.One life - your life - live it!16 -
Funny weather here today sunny one minute and the next dark, heavy rain and very windy. After the third time pegging the washing out and bringing back in again minutes later, I gave in and popped it in the tumble drier.
so pleasures today seem to be the same as some of yours today.
1. A lie in....bliss and Mr M fetched me a cuppa in bed.
2. Nice chat with my aunt and DD3 today and with DD1 and 2 last night.
3. Steak night here too ‘‘twas lovely , mine medium rare and Mr Ms a bit more well done just as we like it.
4. TV looks rubbish tonight so just about to watch Blue Planet yet again, but I love and wildlife programme so I’m content to watch again.
5. Checked the online banking and despite the food bill increasing during lockdown due to reduced fuel costs for the cars and no going anywhere or doing much managed to squirrel another £800 into savings. I think food prices have definitely increased as our eating habits haven’t changed much other than Mr M not taking a packed lunch to work.Well Behaved women seldom make history
Early retirement goal... 2026

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) Various jobs done around the house.
3) A lady from the local FB group has surplus plants so is bringing me runner beans and a pumpkin plant tomorrow.
4) Played lots of Scrabble online.
5) Just did the online quiz with bigger son, who is in his tent. He's cycled back from the Peak District and is spending the night about 20 miles north of here. Very socially distanced but with a loud muntjac prowling around! He's eaten most of his supplies (porridge, pasta, cous cous) so will be back tomorrow.
