Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son borrowed his father's lawnmower and did a lovely job of cutting all the grass on the allotment and hen pen.
3) While he was doing that, I planted French marigolds, borage and did a few more tidying up jobs in the garden.
4) More muck from the farm.
5) Went to the farm shop for supplies and got some runner bean plants for my dad.
6) Took bean plants to dad and had a chat from the driveway.
7) Had a campfire on the allotment.
8) Watered the garden.

1. Saw 2 patients as well as making phonecalls. Felt slightly better about it as spent very little time with colleagues.
2. Home and opened birthday presents. Many plants
3. Flowers from a neighbour. They normally grow them to decorate the church at this time of year so gave all neighbours a bunch of flowers.
4. Many phone calls and messages from family and friends.
5. BBQ in the evening. It was lovely sitting out eating, drinking and talking till late.

Belated birthday wishes for yesterday VL
Tuesday pleasures,
Toasted soda bread with blood orange marmalade, my new favourite breakfast.
Over at the yard, saw my fellow livery owner and we had a good catch up from a suitable distance, my girlie was sleepy in the warm sun.
Messages with middle niece and procured something for her birthday this week.
Evening walk with small dog, we remembered the tennis balls so she was happy, had to avoid the fields as farmer was spraying again, looks like it’s some sort of bean crop, for cattle maybe?
Strawbs with mint choc chip ice-cream for dessert.

A day of unmitigated warmth but not too much so!
A self rooted thornless blackberry plant discovered in the top of the compost heap under a layer of grass on our new allotment plot which has been severed from it's parent plant and is just being planted against the back fence here to ramble along the fence in one direction and along the side of the big shed in the other.....love a free blackberry or 10.. He's called Bernard!
I put out some books after a cull of the shelves with a notice saying 'free please take' and put them on the front of the drive and people have 'please taken' result!
We've cleared the small borders we have in our tiny back garden and now have 6 tomato plants in, 4 runner beans to ramble over the arch over the back gate where we've removed two very old rambling roses, and a double row of fine beans too with room for lettuces and radishes in various spots amongst the herbs.
The ornamental grape we planted last autumn has survived and is growing beautifully and starting to climb up the wires we've strung for him up to the trellis on the top of the fence, next year we should have grapes.
I hope I'm allowed a 6th? still being here, still being healthy and still in lock down because it keeps us safe! mind I'm missing all the rugby!

A most beautiful day today.
Meet up with friend was lovely. Sat on either end of a bench in woodland, sipped our coffee ( brought from home) and ate our cake ( ditto) and chatted for an hour. We've spoken on the phone every day since lockdown began, but it's so much better to chat face to face.
Spent ages this morning removing labels from a new jumper, bought pre lockdown. When did they start making labels out of recycled brillo pads? Or is it just me who is driven mad by them? And why are they so well sewn on? One false move and your new jumper has a hole in it. Ask me how I know!!
After the most glorious day, it's now a very warm evening. Time to sit in the garden with a cool glass of wine I think
Happy balmy evening everyone
