Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son went for a bike ride(see below)
3) Cleaned the house! Living room, stairs, bathroom, 3 loads of washing...
4) New mixed salad seeds arrived so I planted up a long pot of those.
5) Made a rather nice curry for tea, with rice and naans. Then treacle tart and custard. Bigger son said (from his bed) that he was too weak to eat any tea (at 5.05pm). Then, at 5.15, called to say he would have some after all!
6) Spoke to neighbour who was painting her fence.
7) Watched First Dates Hotel.

Good morning
up since 2am again !
Have made decision regarding garden. Although I love it looking like a pretty meadow not everyone feels the same way so strimmer to the rescue. Was just hoping to encourage bees and butterflies. My sparrows have got over their disappointment at lack of food from me as every time I go out into the garden a couple of them swoop out of the grasses. My lovely chubby wood pigeons not so adaptable.
Have watched the first 2 episodes of 'I know this much is true', Mark Ruffalo. Gritty, compelling, fine acting. In my humble opinion. I love to watch him. There is something about his face that makes me think of cherubs but the expressions in his eyes are very adult and deep. And for me speak volumes.
Made my favourite bacon and potato salad. Potatoes go in warm/hot to soak up dressing and last of all. All of my salad ingredients were either juicy or crisp. And it is true that you can revive a lettuce with cold water although I did add ice cubes.
With the absence of bread I have managed to eat the whole fruit loaf ! It was good while it lased. Note to self..........do not buy any more .............. tee-hee.
Today we will be having roast beef. Have had it in freezer for months ! Am hoping that if I cook it slowly it will last 2 days, the second helping hopefully with a lovely salad. We shall see.
I am hankering to grow something in the garden although I only have containers and pots to work with. I did successfully grow beetroot in my Mum's old wheelbarrow that was destined for the tip. Put holes in the bottom and off I went. It was great for following the sun around the garden. Just had an idea to try tomatoes...........
Last year at the bottom of the garden a blackberry bush appeared out of nowhere. I don't know if I have done the right thing but about 4 weeks ago I cut it right back. It has come back with a sweet vengeance which is what I hoped for. Hope it's fruitful.
Our TV's are well over 10 years old (nothing wrong with that) but I really would love to become more interactive in this sense. However, my partner in crime has done his 'Which' research and says only the larger TV's are real smart TV's........50 flipping inches ! I know my eyesight isn't great but am not sure I could get used to that kind of presence. Again, we will see as money is tight and it only took a year to get a new microwave. Of course it has to be a microwave, convection oven and grill. This chosen by the person that never cooks.
It must be me because I like things really simple. I like my toaster to toast, my microwave to microwave. Still, it will come in handy when/if the oven breaks down. Must be grateful and not so impatient ! I always want everything now and as I have discovered that I can do exercise classes, online FREE courses, Ted talks, Netflix etc on a TV I am kind of chomping at the bit. Everyone I know has smaller smart TV..........even my Mum. Cost 200-300 pounds. And it's a curvy one with great colour and picture. My laptop is so old that trying to hear anything is impossible. Anyway, enough moaning as I know it's moaning about unimportant stuff.
Hope you all have a wonderful day

Wow, that is some bike ride Frith.
For yesterday,
Food shopping for first time in 14 days, still no lemon tea but did get some white bread flour. Town was definitely busier,
Rest of morning spent in garden, planted rocket, mustard cress and more radish seeds as we are quickly going through current crop. Popped some little plugs of Lobelia into pots that had a few gaps, if frost forecasted easy to move.
The young sparrows and their flying lessons.
Baked a wholemeal soda bread.
We forgot small dog’s tennis ball on walk, tried to improvise with a stick and her look of utter disdain tickled us both.
