Okay aches and pains keeping me awake so..........
My favourite bread, along with my second favourite was all sold out. Only just rediscovered the delights of a good cup of tea and a lovely slice of bread and butter. So, something I have thought about buying for yonks was popped into my basket.
Who knew that a fruit loaf was that scrummy ! I feel a new addiction emerging. ;-)
Spoke to my parents (arghhh.........how do I stop the 'bold')AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger. You know who you are.....
I HAVE A GOLD STAR and A MEDAL and a Title !13 -

For yesterday,
Went to see girlie, took a bucket out to the field with grooming brushes, apples and carrots. Foraged over her fence for cow parsley as it’s one of her favs, then sat on upturned bucket and watched her grazing, really must bring pencils & pad next time I do this.
She kept coming over to check up on Mum and resting her head on my shoulder whilst I scratched her chest, beautiful girl.
Rest of day just as lazy, reading my book and singing along to South Pacific.
Pottered around in garden, always jobs to be found this time of year. Deheaded the azaleas and rhododendron.
Watched The Danish Girl, missed it when released in cinema and did not know based on true story.14 -
A few recent pleasures:
another local walk; more baby coots and greylag goslings, swan still on her nest, few fishermen back with their tents and I could smell bacon cooking!
having finally ventured out to get compost I planted up my long empty butler sink with salad leaf and cress seeds and some herbs
a lovely pork and apple casserole and enough left for tonight
OHs mum out of hospital
a mention on the epic DFV post 😊
Happy Sunday 😊14 -
Yesterday was laden with pleasures.
Early walk with dog, went to the fields in the next village for the first time in months. Dog had lovely time going in and out of the river.
As ever, a lovely cup of freshly brewed coffee on return.
Productive time spent potting on plants - peppers and mange touts. Also sowed salad leaves, runner beans and forget me nots. Rosemary plant looking a bit sickly - it was in a decorative pot but had no drainage holes so it is now in a proper pot, a little larger, and has had a dose of Epsom salts as well (for the magnesium).
Lunch of five cheese pizza and salad followed by Gu zillionaire cheesecakes. They were half price in the co-op (wouldn't buy them at normal price) and are in handy glass dishes rather than plastic pots.
Good session practising singing ready for choir meeting tomorrow.
Telly was dire so episodes of Dr Who followed by a brief visit to the Now70s channel.
One life - your life - live it!15 -
A nice day but not very sunny here.
Gave DD a small tree in a pot yesterday for their new garden. She rang later to say there was an ant nest in the bottom of the pot! Oops, sorry! We didn't know! But glad to be rid of them!
Naan bread I made were good. A bit of a cross between pitta and naan, but still nice.
I seem to be collecting bruises on my legs. I've always been a clumsy clot, but it's getting silly now! Six year old DGS had fewer bruises last time we saw him!
More garden pottering ( and potting!) today.
Happy pleasant Sunday everyone
