IKEA thing looks fab - not a swear word in sight - it's a bog standard Kallax, a 2 on its side and a 1 with baskets to hide all the carp stuff
Minette Walters - Fox Evil. I love her writing too, this one took two days but often i read them in one so i've been saving it until i had time to binge read.
Do you prep for a viva? All i can do is to prepare answers to 'typical' questions.. Like any exam, there are only so many ways a question can be asked so having some fairly stock answers up my sleeve will aid the nerves. I am most worried about them using 'academicese' in the questions, something that i've never been so good at.
So happy for you that you've saved your precious messages.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Our bath is mended - hopefully. We have to leave it 24 hours before it can be used. We had to get a man in - great care was taken to disinfect everything he would come into contact with and we left him to it. We know the builder and trust him so that helps. Who'd have thought we'd have a sense of danger from getting someone in to mend the flipping bath?
2. DD's homemade bread for lunch. I don't eat much bread but am a sucker for homemade.
3. A family walk in the woods in the sunshine. DD and i walked back along the canal - she is struggling a little at the moment so wanted to give her some 1:1 mummy time. DS and OH walked back through the woods to the car.
4. left over takeaway curry for tea - leftovers are my favourite food, especially if its takeaway curry.
5. Family film night - my choice. Beautiful Boy - about the effects of addiction on a family - cheery Friday film..I think for my next choice, i will steer away from gritty real life drama..
Have a great day all.

For yesterday,
Hay fever bad but the pleasure of having a tablet to pop that helps.
Morning spent in the kitchen baking, sunflower seed rolls, malted grain loaf and chocolate chip cookies, the kitchen seems to be my happy space.
Weather was warmer so the front door open and had pleasure of seeing our postie greeted by small dog, this consisted of running around with tennis ball in mouth and refusing to hand over for it to be thrown.
A couple of our first radishes with lunch, planted out more plus some rocket in the afternoon.
Evening walk around the fields followed by lo quiche & oven chips, no van around here ☹️.

Well flibber me jibbets !
It seems that I didn't forget to put the lid on the dustbin. My pretty fox was spotted removing it at 8 this morning. In broad daylight !
I am being subtly blamed for Tiggy having e-coli. It could be true although I do get rid of bird doings with disinfectant. Will have to research today as Tiggy comes first not my incessant need to have wildlife in the garden.
D4V. Your posts always stun in their comprehensiveness and eloquence . Am suitably awed. So glad that you managed to keep the messages and photos from old phone. I recently had the opposite experience, losing the bulk of things I treasured. Even after trying to reverse the process. Am still quietly weeping over it. More investigation is needed but am not in the right state of mind. Soon.
My nephew, 10 years, definite ADHD, bright as a button loves to watch 'Come Dine with Me'. Yesterday he decided to cook for his family (all under careful supervision). He created the menu which they were given to peruse (my sister a little worried as to whether they had ingredients) but he had been clever and had checked. So they had prawns in garlic and chilli, chicken fajitas and sweet pancakes for desert. A little repetition with chilli in two courses but hey..........he did all the prep including making the pancakes. I have never made pancakes (probably because I am not keen). We are so so proud of him. He is so tiny for his age but has the energy of 3 children. I take my hat off to my sister and my BIL for always directing and supporting that intense energy and very bright intellect.
Finished yesterday with a lovely long chat with a friend. Got on my soapbox a few times but it's okay as she knows me really well and it always ends up in much laughter and mirth. I know how to laugh at myself !
Have a wonderful day.......am off to check for bird pooh !

Pleasures for the last couple of days.
Supermarket tackled with speed, efficiency and everyone doing the 2meter dance effectively. Result!Sun shining, garden bursting into bloom ....sitting listening to bird song and the bubbling away of the water feature.
Great online yoga class, feeling energised and calm at the same time.
Long walk with Mr M and the dogs, found a circular walk not to far from home so drove there, only saw 3 people and it was a lovely walk and nice to see different scenery.
Lovely lunch in the garden and home made lasagna for later
tonight - movie night with Mr M , Wine (Me) and beer (him) chilling in the fridge. Pop corn shall be ‘popped’ later.Well Behaved women seldom make history
Early retirement goal... 2026

It was at stake ..
And sunked with some wobbleades as well. Tasty I say!
Note the non non-stick pan of fry. Ask why chefs don't use non-stick. The stake came out medium rare as usual! No you will not burn the stake either, just turn every minuet to evenly cook. Hot pan too start, then down to 2 and get flipping.
PM2DD Is like watching girls footie in an empty swimming pool!
PM2DfV The refrigerator works better when defrosted.
Nows on with the BoPiness of the day!
Had the stake last nite and some wobbleades of curse. Watched another flix, that is available on the river and the flix things. The Spy next Door. Slated on the tomato site, but very good romp. Again, BoP is selecting a flix for this nite! More toomorrninn.
Now I is watching the cricket, we has already beeten the Aussies once tooday, now for another! Theys already 8 for 2. game on, again! More later!
Had mes usual snoker brekfest this day, too snorker, too beast backs, toms, grilled toms, fried toasy and poached egg. Tea was drinked. Them nice biscuits did not see lunch this day either. Raffles is collapsed after his hard work inn the Yellow thing inn the boudoir!
That is all from BoP this weak, more of the same nonsense next?
If you see a Lert, make sure you keep your ...

DfV thank you for your wonderful post. I'm so pleased all your texts are in your new phone. Always surprises me if something like that goes right!
Decided to try red salt. Sounds good but I only have smoked paprika! That sounds very ' overheard in Waitrose ' even though our nearest Waitrose is at least 30 miles away!
Jazee. Despite living in Yorkshire all my life, I have never heard of chip spice. I must not be far enough North or East!
Seen both DD and DS today. Separately, of course, and at the prescribed distance, but still a treat.
More garden pottering, and then back inside to make ' house special ' curry. Spent ages trying to find a naan bread recipe that didn't need yeast, or have to be cooked under a grill ( don't have either). Eventually found a Nadya one I shall try.
Happy curry Saturday everyone13 -
Happycas, you need to be near Hull!Spend less now, work less later.11

Jazee. Aah. I'm a bit too far north and definitely not far enough east!10
