Bala, I related to your post. It took us around a year to get an all singing microwave due to research, decisiveness and pennies, and ditto the TV was gifted from my late DF who was obsessed with tech it is 50 inches and surprising how quickly you get used to it. It’s over 17 years now and unsupported but is clinging on to its Smart abilities. You don’t need to worry about size for Smart use thou?
1 Up bright and early for a beautiful day.
2 The weekly food delivery was friendly and happy.
3 A bit of garden weeding, a bit of garden reading. I had an online virtual basket full of plants but didn’t purchase them immediately, they sold out so it wasn’t meant to be so a bit miffed hoping they may get more in, but it’s noticeable now they are open they aren’t fussed with online.
4 Tonight’s food is breaded haddock with brown rice and veg, lunch was leftovers.
5.Some online shopping at Joe Browns just again a virtual basket hoping for a bank holiday sale.

Happy birthday, VL!
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Went out to local agricultural engineers for supplies - paint and steel.
3) Had a look round local nursery whilst there.
4) Bigger son made a bench for my room. Sanded scaffold board seat and steel legs. My job was hose piping the steel after he had heated and bent it!
5) I spray painted the outdoor table.
6) Beanburgers for tea.
7) Cut smaller son's hair - including with clippers for a short back and sides. Actually really pleased with it.
8) Watched the Great British Sewing Bee.
9) Went out after 11pm to put the washing out. Had the light switched on for that (it's not automatic). Stood with my back to the front door, turned the light off, and watched a few satellites. Heard some scratching in front of me and the large hedgehog is back! He wasn't pleased to see me, so stood completely still long enough for smaller son to come out and take his photo.

Hello PK
Yes, further investigation is needed and I really need to get to grips with the technology. As for the all singing dancing microwave am still a little afraid of it............ tee-hee.
Cooked my roast beef slowly yesterday but it still ended up on the tough side. Roast potatoes were yummy as was the salad.
Popped the bottom of the lettuce in some water and it's already shooting.........now what do I do with it. ?
2 brooms broken this week. The outdoors one is not surprising as it stays outdoors and had a light metal stick which corroded. The indoors one is fairly new but it's the plastic that holds the stick to the broom head that has cracked and broken. Ditto with the loopy thing that goes on top of the thing that holds up the washing line. Am going to have to be inventive as I hate discarding things that haven't been worked to death ! ;-)
My crow came to visit today. It is so clever as up until recently I would know it was in the kitchen because as it would peck at the bowl it would move on the tiled floor. Today it was as quiet as a mouse and we were both surprised by each others presence. Now, it could have flown away with it's contraband but chose instead to hop onto the fence just outside the back door and show me in profile the piece of kibble it was holding delicately in it's beak. I always put the bowl outside after these visits as I won't let Tiggy near it and usually it comes back to finish it. Not today. Either it was too hot or it wasn't keen on the menu. Tiggy doesn't really like dry food either.................
Having one of those days where I feel grateful for everything.
Sweet dreams

Just a sweet memory I would like to share.
My grandfather, never rich even though he made waist coats (his speciality) for Saville Row would always always bring a bag of something when he came to visit. Nice biscuits were a given, as was fruit in season. I bought a pomegranite today, haven't done for years, and it reminded me that as a child when he used to peel/open them for me I always thought they were rubies (red diamonds to me). I have never changed my mind. They still feel so special.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

Good morning. Just in from the doggy walk across the fields. Just on way home and witnessed a crow take down a baby starling and then a mass of starlings dive-bomb the crow and what a kerfuffle ensued. But the crow flew away with it in his mouth.Anyway! It’s a beautiful morning, a touch of cool after a day of humidity. We were up early yesterday. Over the fields with dog then down at allotment for seven o’clock. I pulled some weeds and DD2 topped up the potatoes with soil. Picked some rhubarb, it’s not been a great crop this year and a little bunch of chive flowers.Came home and made some rhubarb jam. Just enough for a small jar but it’s just me that likes it. Also made scones but it’s not just me that likes them so they were shared and enjoyed. Then it was time to go to mums for a telephone consultation with hospital instead of actually attending hospital. Had a very nice doctor. Then remade her bed. She has the biggest & heaviest quilt I ever did know and it exhausts me wrestling with it! My own I just flip , shake and it’s done...this is a half Nelson and a few throws to the ground!Sat for a bit in garden. Phoned sister to let her know hospital stuff but was too humid and warm so went in. But nice to have the patio doors opened.niece popped by on way to pick up her husband, so we chatted . Me in my driveway and them in the car.Early to bed and slept right through despite my dream that I’d left Poppy dog outside and forgotten...she’s been gone six years.Just about to get showered and dressed and into supermarket before seven when it’s extra quiet...mother has given me a list!Have a lovely day and stay safe, lovely to ‘see you’ back here Mrs LW11

I'm unable to like any posts at the moment - the button has vanished.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes.
1. My last day at work until Wednesday, apart from Sunday but that's elsewhere so will be fine.
2. Enjoyed a walk at lunchtime. Sunny and warm a colleague who is a friend came with me. Had a good chat.
3. Helped DH clear his clinic room. DS1 offered to come and help which was the pleasure.
4. The council replied quickly to my email regarding my broken bin.
5. My flowers are looking gorgeous still.

Likewise VL so everyone should considered yourself thanked.
Thats a lovely memory of your grandfather Bala
For yesterday,
Have started doing my pilates first thing in the morning when I get up, otherwise I procrastinate all day and end up missing out.
It was both of my girls birthdays, small dog was 9 and had a rasher of bacon for breakfast.
The beautiful grey one was 8 and had her nails done ( farrier visit ☺️ ) and I also gave her a pamper by trimming up mane & tail.
My lovely farrier deserves a mention, always cheerful and happy in his job, my girlie who can be wary of men loves him.
Very warm in the afternoon so found a shady spot in the garden and did a bit of sketching.
A clever magpie who when unable to perch on the seed feeder has learnt to take a flying leap at it to give it a knock and gobble up the fallen seed.11 -
Morning all, thanks Mhags xxx.
1) We walked later in the evening yesterday at 8ish because it had been soooooo hot in the day and it now has that dusty smell of summer outside which is very nice indeed.
2) DD1 and James are bringing us over a pack of yeast that she got online this afternoon, 500g of Fermipan which should last me for a good long time. They are bringing baby too and will sit in the garden while we sit in the conservatory, I ache for cuddles though!
3) Message from the doctors surgery early this morning saying we should wear face coverings when out and about, finally! not that we are out and about but it holds for everyone else too!
4) Lovely supper after our walk from the cupboard in the form of some ready made Ashoka curry pouches I got from Asda a while ago and it was gorgeous we had channa masala, markani dhal and bindi aloo along with a pouch of ready made basmati rice. Yummy!
5) A really good sleep last night too.
My thanks button has disappeared too, has there been some sort of problem across the whole of the boards that necessitated it's removal?

Another glorious day. So lucky.
Early morning walk around the garden and discovered my new rudbeckia seedlings, planted in a bigger pot yesterday, all pulled out and scattered on the ground!! OH says it will have been a blackbird wot did it! He says they are vandals! Anyway, replanted and twiggy sticks now protecting them. That's the thanks you get for feeding birds all winter!!
Asd! order has no butter!! Quick dash to local convenience store and they had plenty. Phew!
Might be a bbq for tea. Hope so. It would be nice to have a change from me slaving over a hot stove! I'll make the nice cool salads.
Happy 🌞 day everyone13
