Dumpling I know exactly how you feel. I lost 4 stone last year some of it before I joined this thread.

I had an op in Feb and have since put on 21lbs. I could cry as I feel a failure. Why did I do it, why did I start to eat rubbish again, I have tried to start the diet again nearly every week usually on a Monday but to no avail. Reading your post has made me realise how tough it can be and how losing weight is not easy so this week will be different.!! Today is the third day the first two days were Ok and so was today until just about half an hour ago when I raided the fridge and ate some lamb from a roast leg. I've now put it in the freezer and will do something with it another day.

I've got to accept my weight gain and start again so Knitwitch can you please delete all the smilies and I'll see how it goes. Thankyou

Wishus what's in a home made chocolate protein pot please? I need lighter breakfasts preferably with some protein on my running days.....

This is what I put in mine:
40g oats + 100g low fat Greek Yoghurt +3 strawberries chopped + 1tsp cocoa powder + 1 tsp chia seeds.
I have basically tried to recreate the "Peel juice bar" protein pot, but it's a cheapo version, costs something like 40p for the ingredients as opposed to £2.50 from the Peel shop. I believe they may add a small amount of chocolate whey protein powder, but not very much, and cacao nibs instead of cocoa, but there are still loads of good phyto-nutrients in cocoa powder, which is much cheaper. Also, using a flavoured yoghured ups the berryness, but tends to also up the sugar, so I use plain and it's sweet/chocolatey enough for me.
My version works out at 254 calories, 34g carbs of which 6 sugars, 6g fat, 16g protein and meets 29% vitamin C.

Thank goodness for this thread, folks. I need something to keep me centred!

A cheeky cider last night put me over my calories (still consumed less than I burned), but I think it's that, plus... I don't know I'm feeling really 'got at' today. I feel like I'm being shamed for not recovering from my broken ankle fast enough now 3 blokes, including 1 friend last night, have told me they have found it a breeze and I must be doing something wrong. And my OH who has never broken a bone in his life just says I'm "paranoid" for feeling told off, but maybe they have a point if they are saying that (???).

I'm focusing all my energy today on trying to walk 'normal', nice and straight, without my cane, and I find that makes me walk just like the chap last night - so slow. I suppose that is better, though...

Heard that chime of the M&S van though, and was so tempted to go and see what goodies he had. No, no, no!

    I feel properly resentful though.

    Today's plan:

    b. Aldi maple and pecan crisp with yoghurt
    d. cheese and tomato sandwich
    t. A mystery! I'm off to a brewery for an event. I don't know what I'm going to eat, but it wil be something from a shop. Hopefully I will make wise choices and not let this resentful child inside me make the decisions.

    Hi folks,
I seem to be travelling all the time and not having much choice about what I eat.

I am not losing any weight .

See you next week....off to Lugano where it is warm and rather expensive.

As I was travelling last night, I had M&S pasta salads for my dinner. Notice the nutrition info is not presented the same way on all of them, which can make it harder to pick in a hurry. I would normally have gone for the bows with pesto and pine kernels - all reds and ambers- but stuck to ones with mostly green traffic lights on where I could see them (toasted fregolo and super green salad, and orzo and sun dried tomato), and came in well under my allowance for the day. :)

Today, I have accidentally left my Fitbit in the kitchen - noooooo! :(

So I will just use my GPS on my phone to record my walk to the station, and I'll have to make sure I stick to my allowance. Trouble is, I'm dogsitting tonight. I normally get paid in pizza...

Anyone have any ideas for anything I could grab real quick from Morrisons that I can just schlep in the microwave that isn't as bad as pizza?

    b) egg sandwich Friday!
    d. cheese sarnie
    snacks houmous and carrots, apple

Been OK with the food since Monday, kept within my allowance and the weight is starting to come off again.

Unfortunately this lunchtime I craved something sweet, tried a pear but that didn't work so in the end I had 6 x biscuits for cheese with butter. Just hope I haven't done too much damage.

Dinner will be smoked haddock, poached egg and vegetables. Just starting to pick the first of the strawberries but there's only enough for one so I'll have those and my DH can have the rest of the plum and apple flan from last night with custard. Usually I always give my other half the pick of the crop but not tonight - I'm being selfish for once. :rotfl:
