Forgot to post last week, but in the past 2 weeks I've lost 3.5lbs. I have been relatively good, still avoiding the 'naughties' when I've been shopping, and eating a lot more fruit, although I must admit I had a chippy tea last night, but that was after a 3 mile walk.

    -2 for me, please
  • Hi, went to doc and the culprit seems to be the old water infection. Probably had for some time, no pain just 1 1/2 - 2 hr toilet all through night too (not helpful with arthritis). Had tablets but think its still around. Gone back to the eating but waited until sugars were back to normal. I had sort of cut carbs but more for the slimming. Will give a day or so then back for more tablets. Weighed this am but not yet checked if lost anything. Thanks for asking.

I can claim another 1lb loss this week (total 2/7), but after I thought it would be a cinch, it was in fact a struggle to get it, and I think I can say a huge thank you to the loveliness of going swimming for helping me with that against what would have been a bit of a self-sabotaging end to the week. For all the patient logging I was doing Mon-Fri, I only went and succumbed to pints and late night chicken burgers on Friday, when I knew I'd have to also spend Saturday in a pub, where the available food was, yet again, burgers.

Something I shall not mention on the cutting down thread, but I lost a friend to alcohol-related illness this weekend. Not a close friend to me, though he was to my best friend. That's the second friend in a year to this horrible disease. Both younger than me and I am barely middle-aged unless you are mean.

Yesterday was my first alcohol-free day since Wednesday.

So going swimming yesterday was absolutely glorious. I just switch off from the outside world and swim and swim and swim, following the lines on the bottom of the pool.

    Today:

    b. avocado toastie
    d. carrot and reduced fat houmous sandwich, salad leaves
    t. sausage and mushroom pasta with passata.
snacks . apple and mini muffin (leftover from last week's picnic, still miraculously okay. Well not miraculously. That's sugar).
    Keep reading books!

I don't know why but I seemed determined to sabotage my efforts to lose weight this weekend. I seemed to be eating everything in sight. Why do I do that?
Ah well back to the plan today
