STS this week. Not too disappointed as I had 2 blow out days and thought it would have gone up.

I've been having a bad patch with sweet things as we still have lots of chocolate and biscuits Left from Christmas and I can't bear chucking stuff out which is daft as I will only eat it!

I'm considering getting a bicycle as I used to love cycling, 2 things are making me hesitate - the roads are busy around here, and I haven't ridden a bike for 30 years! Are they effective for losing fat?

I cycle a lot and it totally transformed my shape. I do however really cycle I don't do canal paths etc, I live in Yorkshire and there is a reason we have the Tour de France/Yorkshire - the hills are evil. Start off slowly, maybe 2 miles with a bit of a gradient somewhere in that then build up from there, the thing that will make or break it for you is the seat, the thin racing seats are more comfortable once you get used to them but whatever seat you have the bones in your behind (my experience was it was the bones not the skin) will be very painful and it took me a good couple of months for that to pass.

With what's going on in my life I would just say 'elephant's heart':heart::heart: However, foxes are not my best friends, I prefer my chickens/turkeys to be alive, although I expect a Malayan F Fox is not even related to a Reynard.

I'm going to go for STS this week as I'm now the same weight as I was at the end of the last challenge even though I put on 7lb over the holiday period but now have lost it again.

Appt at the Royal Brompton Heart Hospital in a few days time for a whole day of tests. Hoping for a workable outcome.

Apparently a Malayan Flying Fox is actually a Fruit Bat :p

Thanks for the info dolly. I like the look of the classic ladies bikes like

but are the any good for a long cycle do you think, or just nipping to the shops?

I have a hybrid bike a bit like that and it is fine for out and about (plus I have added a 'comfort' saddle). When we go to the New Forest camping with friends we always do quite a bit of cycling and for that I always hire a mountain bike as my normal one isn't up to off-road. I did use it one year but the brakes gave up on a big downhill and it was both scary and expensive to fix. It depends on what you are going to do with it.
