I'm pleased to say that I've lost 3lbs this week! :j
For most of the week I was in agony with gum/tooth pain, the left side of my face was swollen, and it was extremely difficult to open my mouth to eat. Consequently I've been mostly having porridge or soup as it was easier. I had to brave the dentist for the first time in about 7 years, as I thought I might have an abscess, but he said it wasn't, and the pain was probably due to me needing a filling, and I have gum disease and have lost some of the bone surrounding the teeth. Luckily the pain has got less intense as the week has gone on.
I was convinced that the dentist was going to take one look and say I needed to have teeth taken out, or root canal work, so I was quite pleased with the outcome of the appointment. I'm going for the filling next week, and I'm dreading it as I'm a real coward when it comes to dentists, I almost need tranquilizers just to make the appointment, lol!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Bought Tom Kerridge's cook book 'Lose Weight For Good' as I have been enjoying the TV series.
I just watched the last 2 episodes on the catch up and they were very good, I've written down the receipe for the Cajun chicken, it looked yummy!'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

They say that weight loss is mostly due to exercise, and that has certainly been proved right this last week.
Hubby has been ill with this cold/ flu virus this last week or so and he's not felt like eating or cooking, so we've had mostly soup and toast, beans on toast, sandwiches etc. Generally speaking, that sort of food plus my all fruit Thursday would have meant I'll have lost weight.
However I normally walk to town and back at least once a day (about 2 miles) plus two days at work when I'm on my feet for my entire shifts, so normally that plus extra running about keeps my step- numbers up, and according to my fitness app thingy I walk 5/6 miles extra easily on my work days. As I've been taking MIL backwards and forwards to hospital several days a week, it's easier to swing by the shop in the way home in the car to get paper, milk, etc so the walking has gone out the window.
The good thing is I've stayed the same but I'm sure if I'd done my normal walking it would have been a loss.
Ho hum, such is life, back to the walking methinks!
Happy Sunday everyone x0 -
Sue - I’m with you there - I snapped a wisdom tooth off last year and had to have sedation to get it taken out! Hope you get sorted.
B - porridge and banana
L - salad - beetroot, celery, apple, feta and walnuts
T - Jack Monroe’s aubergine and spinach satay
I’m actually starting to feel a bit healthier. 14 days in and I’m a lot less lethargic. I was consuming so much sugar before, almost obsessing about eating and when the next snack would be.0 -
I'm starting to feel the benefit of healthier eating too Frith. I had a late start today because my leg was very sore last night which stopped me from sleeping until somewhere around 1:30am. Hopefully that means it's busy healing. Today's food :-
Breakfast : Bacon medallions on small w/m toast
Lunch : spiced chicken, pink lady apple sliced with yoghurt to dip
Dinner : roast chicken, dry fried roasties, carrot and turnip, gravy
Snacks : 2 ginger nuts0 -
I've been having a bad patch with sweet things as we still have lots of chocolate and biscuits Left from Christmas and I can't bear chucking stuff out which is daft as I will only eat it!
I'm considering getting a bicycle as I used to love cycling, 2 things are making me hesitate - the roads are busy around here, and I haven't ridden a bike for 30 years! Are they effective for losing fat?0
