  • Thanks once again Kathrynha for the chart - it's looking very doubtful that I'll hit my goal but I will give it my best shot lol!

well done beanie as well for SOTW !

Had a shock this morning as we'd had people over for food Saturday and had done ribs in the reggae reggae sauce only to find out it was 22 syns for the jar ! But as that fed 5 of us then I don't think it was too bad (keep telling that to myself I think!)

Hoping to go swimming again tomorrow so at least I'll have hit one target!
  • morning everyone
well done beanielou on SOTW and well done everyone for the losses.

    Today's menu
Breakfast - bacon medallions, mushrooms, beans and a frylight fried egg and a milky coffee (part HexA)
Lunch - homemade syn free soup (tomatoes, onion, lentils and rice) with 2 slices of no crust wholemeal as part of my HexB. Followed by Count on Us Skinny chocolate muffin dessert (7.5 syns) with strawberries on top for speed.
Dinner - the Steak and Beak Potato Hotbake which I made last night - took ages but was yummy - 1 syn for the plain flour and I will have with lots of brocolli
Snacks - Alpen light - will count it as 1.5 syns as I still have part of my HexB to use/

"Star" week for me so I am very worried about weigh in tomorrow - pretty sure I have gained again!! Aghhhhhh.

Tete - apparently its good to do something like painting your nails when you feel like snacking on something naughty!

bubbs Your pies look yummy - I am going to give these a go too!!

Well done beanie, delighted for you.:T

You did well too to get that half pound saver upper.:T

Good luck for tonight kathrynha. Hope the news isn't too bad. At least you're hanging on in there.:A Do you think sipping on NAS ginger beer might help?

It is miserable weather msm but you're probably feeling it more because you're under the weather. Hope you start to pick up very soon.:)

I hope you're going somewhere warm for your holiday denise. I dodged showers with the washing yesterday so you can guess today's Body Magic:(. Pleased to get back to dancing last night so that will have helped too.

Bottled sauces can be a nightmare gettingtheresometime. Goodness knows what they put in them. Conversely it does surprise me that some ready made meals like the sauces on some lamb shanks or barbecue beef can be so low.

I'm persevering with the plan. I'd love to have cauli cheese with my fish today , although might weaken by dinner time. I think it's the summer weather!:rotfl:

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with veggie chilli, cottage cheese and salad
D: baked haddock, SW chips, Speed Veg (hopefully;))
    Syns: tbc

That, and ginger tea are my drinks of choice at the moment. I am told the ginger tea makes the office stink but I don't care.

Lots of sugar and/or oil from the ones I've looked at that have been high.

I prefer to make my own. If I find one I like I make a note of the ingredients, then try to make my own version using the herbs and spices in it. To make it more "saucy" yogurt, tomato puree, soy sauce and water are all good for adding liquid without adding syns. Which one you use depends on the type of sauce.

tete, I'm just using this as an analogy but I know of people who to stop themselves going out to buy alcohol they put their PJs on so they won't go out. I know some would go to Tesco in their PJs but.....:rotfl:At stressful times, I think I'd take an hour at a time to put off going out and make sure you have plenty of SW meals and snacks planned. As for non SW things to de-stress then a relaxing bath, bed with a book, a walk or run might help. Or just come on here (like beanie did with the biscuits;)) and hope someone's around to talk you out of it!:)

Ooh any excuse to get into my PJs as soon as I walk in the door! :D
What about having a budget for the month, (you could even penalise yourself for every chocolate/take away) and then treat yourself with the money you've saved at the end of the month.

You could also join some groups... keep fit, dance etc. you will make loads of new friends x

I'm actually trying to join in the grocery challenge this month after realising what I spent in July. This week's task is to try to live out of the freezer as much as poss and not go to the supermarket at all.

I'm actually a really active member of my running club, but as Bubbs said I have been out for 10+ weeks now with a sprained ankle. I do still go along almost every week though, and to parkrun on a Saturday, to help out, but it will be nice when I can actually take part again as I do miss it.

I went for a wax yesterday so I can now go swimming :o - I do enjoy it when I'm there, it's just getting out of bed early enough to get there before the fun floats come out!

I thought of that but I find painting my nails a massive chore! I do crochet in front of the TV though, and of course you have to have clean hands for that, so I need to be stricter about actually getting it out and doing it (not least because my friend's baby is due and I've only done four rows of its blanket!)

I was reading a woo-woo self help book about binge eating disorder last night and the thing I took away from it is that it's rarely about food addiction or greed, it's usually a distraction from feeling other things. I for example will cram biscuits into my mouth while I'm completing job applications, because I find them boring and difficult, and eating distracts me from that, and even feeling guilty about eating is a distraction from the feelings of inadequacy I get when doing stuff like that, if that makes sense? The book said that before you eat anything, take a moment to ask yourself "What is the purpose of this food?" - and if it's a meal and you're hungry that's fine, even if it's a glass of wine or a piece of cake with friends, that's fine; but if it's a chocolate bar because you've had a carp day, or because you always have a packet of crisps when you watch a film, then just asking yourself the question will make you think twice about having it, and make you concentrate on feeling the actual feelings that you're feeling. Do you see what I mean? Sorry for the essay, I just found it really helpful!

Kathryn - surely the office just smells of ginger? People spend a fortune on candles for that! Thanks for the chart and well done Beanie!

I think I've prattled on enough so will post today's menu and be off:

    B - Banana, apple, coffee
D - BNS, carrot and sweet potato soup from the freezer, with bread (no butter)
T - 2x Heck zesty chicken sausages (1), bubble and squeak (the last of it thank god!!), mushrooms, baked beans
    HEA - Milk
HEB - 2x WM crustless bread
    Syns - Sugar (4), sausages (1), hot choc (2) = 7
    Weightloss: 14.5/65lb

That's a really good way to think about food. Will have to remember it for when I feel better. At the moment eating is because I have to.

And yes the office just smells of ginger, which I think is a lovely smell
