    Morning all,

well shock at WI this morning with a loss of -1lb!! truly don't deserve it but am not going to complain!

Managed to say no to the goodies in the office, hit the gym and 2lts of water yesterday!

    Plan for today
    B: FF Yogurt and Plums
    L: speed filled chicken salad
    D: SW curry (2syns)
Snacks babcy corn, wheat crunchies (6syns) probably a gin (2.5 syns)
    walk 2018 miles in 2018 - 781 of 2018
Save £5 for every PR: 10 of 35
  • Hi CEYCEY,

Don't be disheartened and don't write the day off. Make sure you drink lots of water and incorporate lots of speed. A bit of activity too. I'm sure if you keep this up then you will see a loss the next time.

Water really does help. I was stuck at STS for many weeks, I really upped my water and now I'm moving again. I'm also very active, nothing too serious, just lots of walking.

    Good luck x

    I missed bubbs meal!

Barrie, welcome. I was told that if you jog, that the impact on your joints is double your weight. i.e. if you weight 17 stone, the weight impact on you knees is 34 stones.

    I am power walking!

    Beanie, special hugs xxx

LOL Jogging helps because you are actually floating for part of the movement. Tried a bit of Power walking yesterday when we went for our walk/run. Hazel said some unpleasant things about what I looked like. If Hazel tries to jog I can just keep up with her by walking very briskly. So I walk a bit, jog a bit, run a bit, sprint a bit. Then turn round and walk back to her. Keep this up and I do about 40% more distance than her. Stops me staying with her and putting my old Sgt Major head on!

Welcome barrie . You're in a good place to lose weight. You and Hazel are doing it together and you have the time to exercise, shop and cook. You can save money doing SW as to be successful you need to plan ahead and only buy what's on the menu. So no waste and no need for take aways.

You'll need to plan other filling meals and snacks other than bread. Fried potatoes are good with a full English. Cold sausages and chicken in the fridge are good for snacking.

Loads of Sausages and Chicken & Beef Burgers in the Freezer's. Sorted out Fridge Freezer, Freezer and Chest Freezer yesterday. Discovered 18 M&S Bramley Apple Pies. Nearly 56 syns each:mad:. Lots of other M&S goodies stock piled. Hazel works for them and I used too. We like the Meal for £10 plus wine. Oh Wine. Under the stairs we have over 100 bottles. Now that will be around 2 years supply, (4 months pre SW) We used to buy in bulk when things were on offer.

Started going through our bulk buy curry sauces. 21 syns each bottle. Custard 20 syns a tin!

I could go on for hours. Nearly finished putting the syn value on all the jars/cans in cupboards and the garage.(Never new when the balloon would go up so have loads stock piled in the garage)

I ask you how can we stop eating Apple Pie and custard. Only 80 syns between the 2 of us! Have to be the reward for a 10 mile run/walk:rotfl:

1 success to report. Have switched to Hovis Nimble Malted Wholegrain bread. B choice. Started the loaf on Saturday and still 4 slices left. All I can say its similar to bread:D

    Have a good day everyone.;)

    Hello

Was wondering if I can join your group.

I got the SW books off eBay and I've been stalking this page for a good week now. I started following the EE plan last week, im really enjoying it so far!

I've seen several colleagues plus friends really succeed at SW in recent months and I really like the idea of free foods. At my heaviest in 2014 I was 14 st 7lbs. I slimmed down to 13 stone, then put a bit on, the slimmed back down again. Then I went holiday a put a bit back on again!

I was on Wednesday 12st 1.5lbs. I'd like to get myself to around 9st 7lbs. I was really happy with myself at that weight. I'd like to lose 10lbs by 4th September (your current period in this discussion)

    My plan for today -

B - 2 boiled eggs plus 2 alpen light (HexB)

L - pork (no fat) stew which is from last night. Has chickpeas, fresh tomatoes, tinned tomatoes and tomato puree, mixed peppers, onion, garlic and seasoning. I used fry light to brown off the meat. I'm having that with an Apple, grapes and cherries.

    S - 2 light cheese sticks (HexA)

D - cod which I'm going to do in little parcels with leeks, garlic, seasoning, plus some sweet potatoes and cauliflower

Syns - I've been enjoying bounce bars which I searched online is 8.5 syns?

I do a minimum of 10,000 steps per day and I gym 2-3 times each week and clubbercise class on a Wednesday. I'm very active it's just I like my foods (the wrong foods) to much. SW I think will really help me control what I eat much better. I love pasta and can make my own syn free sauces with meats, this really excites me!

Oh just seen the message about your signature being removed! Do tell what it said :rotfl:
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Welcome SarahJ.

Barrie - it looks like you have a mountain of food that you're not going to be eating. How about giving some of it away to family and some to a local food bank? I think when we start SW we all have some "naughty" stuff which we end up either using up syns on or giving away. You however have a much bigger problem than most of us!

Well done MoneySaver on bieing SOTW.

    Today's plan:

    B - fruit & quark
L - HM syn free scotch egg; salad
D - shepherd's pie made with LO roast lamb leg from yesterday.

    HEA - milk
HEB - not sure; nothing planned so may not have anything again (I often end up not having my HEB if I don't use it for breakfast or lunch).

:T well done WJN and saverupper. We love to see losses.:D

Welcome sarahj. You sound as if you've really got into it.:)

I know it's tempting ceycey but fluctuating weight across the week, even across the day is normal. Can't you put the scales on the top of the wardrobe or somewhere inaccessible?

Barrie, it's a matter of taste but as you're only having 2 small slices of wholemeal a day I'd go for something tasty. There's no advantage to eating 'diet' bread. My current favourites are Burgen Soya and Linseed or a more mse alternative:money: is a small sliced wholemeal loaf from Lidl. I think unless you can really ration yourself (and there's no way I'd use my syns on an apple pie but wine's a different matter;)) I'd donate some to family and friends and other things to a food bank. You sound brilliantly organised labelling products with syns. What a great idea!

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, scrambled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: turkey rissoles, LO fried veg (inc. potato), beetroot
D: cottage pie with swede and carrot mash, kale, broccoli, cabbage
Syns: squirt of HP sauce, may put a little cheese on pie

Welcome SarahJ! That last sentence of yours really struck a chord with me - I spend so much time when following SW moaning about what I can't have, it'd be so much better to focus on what I CAN have whilst still losing weight. You sound really motivated :)

I am feeling :A today because I took a packed lunch to the hospital when accompanying gran on her appointment!

    B - Weetabix, apple
D - Roast veg (aubergine, courgette, onion, spring onion, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms) with quinoa, mint tea
T - Diet cola chicken with new potatoes that need using up
HEA - Milk in Weetabix and coffee
    HEB - Weetabix
Syns - Sugar in coffee (3) and on Weetabix (1), extra bit of milk (1), Fab lolly (4), hot choc (2) = 11
