Sooo, I couldnt decide what I felt like eating tonight, but went for a forage in the cupboards and ended up cobbling together a pasta 'carbonara' made with bacon, onion and mushroom, with a beaten egg and one tbsp FF fromage frais, and some black pepper. Am I right in thinking this is all free? I'd been avoiding anything carbonara-ish as recipes seem to involve a lot of Quark which I don't like, but this was so tasty and easy and comforting that I'll deffo make it again if it's syn-free.
Well done to the losers! Lovely to see you again Shala! Ouch Beanie, hope you're OK!
A new week tomorrow, feeling motivated!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Definitely syn free tete and well balanced for EE with the onion and mushrooms. Sounds like you've had a SW friendly weekend. Onwards and downwards!
I cooked butternut squash for the first time this weekend. No idea why I've not used it before. I bought a bag pre prepared YS in Sainsbury's. I used half chopped in the veggie chilli and the rest I roasted with the other veg tonight. It was lush, similar to sweet potatoes but very caramel tasting.0 -
Morning all,
Well last night's stir fry was delish. I will have to find a different sauce as the Morrisons Katsu sauce I used was quite high in syns. But I suppose when split in two portions it was still within my syns.
TETE, Your carbonara sounds lovely, I will be trying that for sure, although I will make it veggie. It sounds really good for those times when you don't have much in the cupboards and are feeling knackered and at risk of a take away!
MAMAN, was your veggie chilli a SW recipe? Could you please point me in the right direction? Or if it wasn't could you let me know what you added to make it so tasty?
Thanks muchly xWeight loss 2017/2018 - 49 lbs0 -

I am just making my first post here
all those in the challenge a HUGE well done
I go to group but I have been stuck at 5st lost since easter
my own fault I cant get my head in the right place - but all these posts have so re-energised me
so Monday I right my menu plan for what is left of the week (weigh in Thursdays) and the following week
then I will keep in the kitchen my diary to log
thank you for your inspiring helpful posts I am really hoping to join you for the next challenge
H xx
Welcome and well done on your 5 stone loss.
If you have an idea how much you would like to lose over the next 5 weeks when this current challenge ends, let me know and I will add you to the spreadsheet.Zebras rock0 -
I really shouldn't take the weekend off from here. There is sooooo much to catch up on, but think I am all caught up now.
If you have posted a weigh in since Thursday afternoon and I haven't mentioned you in the above post please nudge me.Ceycey1980 wrote: »Kathrynha - how's the sickness? have you managed to get through a day without being sick yet?
Seem to have it down to once a day, which is liveable. Feeling very tired, sore and bloated, so had a rather lazy (and off plan)weekend.
Thank you everyone for the breakfast suggestions. Liking the idea of sausages. I like them cold, and stuff those that moan at miso noodles stinking in my office, I will have them again. Got some leftover chicken breast today though.
Today's plan:
Breakfast - chicken
Lunch - pasta salad
Dinner - stir fry
Snacks - Strawberries, Aldi quavers and cereal bars
HA - milk
HB - cereal bars
syns - salad dressing (1), quavers (3)Zebras rock0 -
Kathryn you're doing a sterling job! Glad your sickness has reduced, hope you feel even better this week. And to those who moan about your food in the office - do they have any idea what you've been going through and how little choice you have in what to eat??? :mad:Moneysaverme wrote: »TETE, Your carbonara sounds lovely, I will be trying that for sure, although I will make it veggie. That's exactly what it was!! I'd got in from a day out and was flumping about looking at Chinese menus but nothing was tickling my fancy so I looked in the fridge and had the FF to use up and just thought I'd give it a go.
That fromage frais has been a big success - normally when I buy a nat yog or similar half the pot goes to waste, but I've managed to use nearly the whole lot in one way or another and it's free.
Maman I must confess that although my meals have been SW I have had treats this weekend - ice cream, wine, biscuits... but every little helps I suppose and I'm deffo back on the wagon today rather than still picking at leftover treats from the weekend
Today:
B - Coffee
D - BNS, carrot, sweet potato, onion soup with bread
T - Carbonara as yesterday
HEA - Milk
HEB - 2x crustless WM bread
Syns - sugar in coffee (3), butter (3), mini Wispa (2.5), hot choc (2) = 10.5Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Most of them are fine, just an odd one that is a k**b!Zebras rock0 -
morning all!
Well done to everyone with the losses and commiserations on the gains. I think a STS result is ok as long as its not happening on consecutive weeks!
It seems like everyone has made a good effort to stay on plan over the weekend.. I on the other hand have been terrible! I weighed myself this morning and have gained 2.5 of the 3lb i lost - I have TWO DAYS to reign it back in for my official weigh in on Wednesday. I have to say, knowing that I have to come on here and check in with my weigh in result, is definitely an incentive to get my !!!! in gear! I guess it's similar to going to weigh in at a meeting ( I am still considering going to meetings but in two minds about it!).
Was out for drinks on Friday and had about 5 cocktails, Saturday night had burger king and Sunday I had fish and chips. I know I'm a disgrace and very ashamed of myselfIt's because I wasn't at home sat/sun and got lead astray....
beanielou - I hope your face is better! What happened??
tete - i made a carbonara for the first time last weekend - it was nice but I found it a bit bland. Maybe i will try it with fromage frais! I used a philly light mini pot.
Kathrynha - glad the sickness is limited to once a day! and i feel the same re: being away from the board over the weekend! There is so much to catch up on!
Today and tomorrow to be honest my aim is to keep calories to a minimum rather than be on plan as I think that's the only way I can lose what I have gained this weekend, so there isn't much point setting out my meal plan! x0 -

Maybe some SP days will help. I don't know too much about them, as I'm not allowed to do them, but from what I gather you need to eat 50% speed and 50% protein, plus your healthy extras, although I think you get an extra healthy B.
By doing an SP day you would automatically reduce your calorie intake.Zebras rock0
