Just signed up to a Quidco Account :0) thank you very much for your help, by the way what is the best option to choose to be paid by quidco Paypal or Bank Transfer, I am a quidco newbie.

    Many thanks again

    Jase

    Hi Jase

Bank Transfer's 'best' in that it goes straight into your account as cash. I tend to use Paypal though since I use that to buy stuff from ebay - so it means stuff I save money on goes on stuff from ebay (usually stuff I didn't really need.... )

By the way, a Quidco tip - make sure to go back when your car or house insurance needs renewing, you get BIG returns from Quidco for these - usually up to £100.

I know we are wandering off topic badly... but I agree. I change my insurance each year now via Quidco... plus order Dell PCs for friends through Quidco and anything else that allows it. I checked my account yesterday and have racked up £700+ in about 2 years for myself and family. I had to choose a more expensive home insurance than I needed last month as the cashback was higher than my original quote... thought they would not be happy about that!

I would have gone with 02 anyway - so £25 is for nothing. If you have been on a site you want to buy from before going through Quidco it is often better to clear your cookies prior to opening Quidco as it could cause it not to track properly - or in my case I open up Firefox just to order via Quidco instead of my normal IE so I know it will track and not get confused.

    Hi all

I'm going to take the plunge and move from AOHELL to 02 BB
I know I have to ask for a MAC code, do I do this before I contact 02?
I'd like the changeover to go as smoothly as possible and hopefully not have any/much downtime during the changeover. I've never swapped ISP before and want to try and make it straightforward.

    Thanks for any help/ advice

You can apply to O2 immediately, without the MAC code - we did. Then as soon as you have received it, you can log on again and enter it.

Don't forget to go via Quidco for your £25 cashback http://www.quidco.com/o2-broadband/

    You won't regret it!

    Thanks TractorGirl

How soon after applying to 02 did you cancel your old ISP?

You don't need to cancel it as such. When the MAC code is applied, it automatically tells them that its cancelled. Make sure you cancel your direct debit or however you pay, and as you've probably been paying AOL a month in advance, make sure that once you are up and running with O2 that they reimburse you for any days you've paid for but not used.

You need to make sure your exchange has 02 available first. You can do this by applying online with O2 or checking http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php . I guess you may have already done this.

As part of the process I think O2 claimed you should only be without broadband for an hour or two on the changeover day.

You get texts all the way through the order/delivery process so you know where you are. Once you put your MAC code in it seems to take about a week to changeover. I may be able to let you know how long my downtime is on Monday when I am supposed to be connected!

I didn't even realise that I had been switched over, when I moved to 02,and I was mighty impressed.

Still getting speeds of around 6.5 meg, which is nearly the same as I was getting, once I had downgraded from 16 meg to 8 meg.

So far everything is still as good as the day I switched.
