O2 Broadband (merged)

Wasn't aware of the contract difference. Thanks.
Anyone know of any other reasons to chose Be over O2?0 -
One CRUCIAL difference for you is this I think:
As of a few days ago o2 had T&C's (havent checked them today) that allow you to cancel within 14 days of the service going active; whereas Be provide no cancellation window that I can see - ie I think you're committed to Be for now at least. Maybe transfer to o2 later ?0 -
There is a seven day cooling off period so I should be okay.
Only other difference I can see is the speed and I don't imagine I'd get anywhere near the 24 max from Be. If I got anywhere close to 16 I'd be a happy camper.0 -
I'm finding the 8meg o2 broadband slightly quicker than my 1meg tiscali at the moment.. Maybe it will speed up..
When attempting to get on the internet after switching my computer off and on again i didn't notice an o2 broadband icon, just the o2 broadband assistant. Does anyone have the o2 broadband icon and can maybe show me how to get it please..
I have to praise o2 in the way they contacted me via text message that my line was connected and within 30 mins i was on the net again..
I just seemed very slow but that may be down to amount of rubbish on my computer..
Maybe someone who has had it a few days can give me a few pointers..
Thanks in advance..0 -
just done a speed test 3.76 meg. o2's average is 5.33 meg..
Its a good job i didn't go for the 16meg package..0 -
UP TO 8mbit.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

ADSL is always an "Up To" speed and the download speed you get will depend greatly on condition of line, condition of equipment on line, equipment at exchange and your distance from the exchange etc.
Dunno if O2 use rate adaptive but if they do it may be a couple of days before your line speed settles, if you have a new master telephone socket on your line (normally the first socket on the line and it may have a split going left to right just above the fitting screws) then plugging into this without extensions etc may help your speed improve a bit. If you have a socket with a split above the screws then you also have a test socket, plugging into the test socket via a filter is the best way to see what speed you should be getting on your line.0 -

I presume you have an ethernet connection and so you are connnected all the time.
The only thing you need to do is to open your internet browser (Internet Explorer in your case) and you're ready to go.
There's no connecting procedure like dial-up.
Hope this helps.0
