Our seller left us fleas...
Nothing from our lender, Natwest.
Estate Agent came over a few days after completion (he was on holiday when it happened, and it took 10 months to go through) with a bottle of Prosecco and a weight off his shoulders :rotfl:0 -
we did pay hefty EA fees and didnt get anything from the EA or mortgage company (Halifax) but my friends who bought a new build got a lovely box of treats from the developers so i had thought it was a new build thing and hadnt realised EAs sometimes give gifts too!
I left my buyer 2 bottles of nice prosecco. My seller left me a bottle of wine and a filthy kitchen!0 -
I moved in 2014 and got a box from Nationwide - it had a couple of (Nationwide) branded mugs, 2 teaspoons, some teabags and a couple of individually wrapped biscuits, long life milk, grape juice, 3 or 4 home improvement magazines, some hand soap and some cleaning products, and some kitchen roll & loo roll, and a plastic key for opening meter cupboards.
It was a nice surprise, but not as useful as it might have been as it was delayed and arrived a month after I moved in. Had it arrived on the day (which it was supposed to, according the the card it came with) it would have been handy as my sellers had not cleaned. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
I got nothing from Newcastle BS but I did get a box of goodies from Barratt, a bottle of Prosecco a card and some chocolates.0

We've just completed and the post office (Bank of Ireland UK) are our mortgage providers and haven;t had a gift (yet?). it was fee free and we do get £500 cashback so won't hold out much hope. From the sounds of the posts above they seem like though out treats.Little One born 19/12/18

Halifax sent me a big box containing wine, posh crisps and dip, a picture hanging kit and a tool kit which has loads of useful tools in (incl little tiny screwdrivers) and comes in its own plastic case. And the box had a huge bow on it!

We didn't get a gift from anyone, though we did have a fee free mortgage with £1000 cashback from the West Brom so I guess that was the gift, as we weren't aware until our MA told us that you could get cashback on mortgages. It was nice to have the extra cash in the bank, but it didn't last long!!0

I got a first time buyer box that I registered for back in 2008. Didn't know they still did things like that. We'll be leaving our buyers a bottle of something.0 -
