Never got anything from an agent, but a seller once left a dirty breakfast plate, complete with knife, fork and runny egg yolk in a kitchen drawer!

We had one from Nationwide last year, it had mugs (promo ones from wren kitchens), tea, coffee, energy drinks, Baylis and Harding soap, numerous cleaning supplies, and like Lucky Duck's the box could be turned into a toy castle.

I believe they use this company to arrange it all https://www.homemovebox.com/how-it-works/
  • I had one of the nationwide boxes ... it had some nice things in it like mugs energy drinks and cleaning supplies ....i really wish though it hadn't been packed with straw that stuff got everywhere.. I was tired enough from moving to deal with picking up half a farmyards worth of hay out of my conservatory.
Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.
  • Humph. Have moved house a gazillion times, never received anything from either mortgage provider or estate agent.
I wonder if you need to pay extortionate arrangement fees to get goodies? I've never had anything.

We did get left a big pile of bricks by the former owners of our house even though they promised they'd move them

I found stacks of dirty mags in the loft once when I moved in lol - that was about it! Never had a gift from any of who you mentioned. I usually gift the EA and mortgage bod (fizz or flowers)! I'm obviously too bloody nice. Only mug I got was the tattoo saying it on my forehead!

I didn't have any arrangement fees, no valuation fees, no broker fees and they gave me £750 cash back for using them so it can't be just ones that have paid for the mortgage.

The mortgage company send you a gift?!? really?? We are first time buyers so never heard of this. At first when I saw this thread I thought is what the seller had left for the buyer as welcome gift.

We are rented so no property to sell. We are going to pop round a welcome basket to our sellers new home though (my husband is a baker) Sellers estate agent (who are very helpful will get something) Our solictitors are getting naff all. :p

I dont care about gift, It'll be a ruddy gift just to get in the place to be honest.

  • TSB didn't send us anything, but our broker sent us a happy new home card.

The vendors left us with a filthy house, several things they'd said were being left having been removed, things they'd promised they'd remove being left and a massive hole in the wall in the living room!
