Wondering what peoples experiences are of of 'welcome' gifts from mortgage lenders / estate agents after completion?
Hearing stories ranging from key rings to magnums of champagne, to goodie bags of tea and coffee etc....
Whats the best/worst gift you've had.....if any?
Personally, I'm about to complete on my first home on 13th July, and certainly not expecting anything from Natwest, but hear other lenders are quiet generous?

One of my sisters received a basket with hand-wash, tea and some other household items (Halifax I believe but this was about 4 to 5 years ago)
I got nothing (natwest) but the lady I was buying from left me a card and a bottle of m&s bucksfizz.
When I move, if I end up selling to a person to live in I'll probably get them a bottle of wine and leave a takeaway leaflet or two. My area is full of buy to let purchasers so if one of them I probably won't leave anything.0 -
I dont think you will get anything from Natwest.
My agent gave me a 241 voucher at a local carvery, box of maltesers, bottle of wine and an umberella.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Snap. We got that last year. Was unexpected but the mugs are a nice big size.0 -
Last year HSBC's offering was something very similar, although it came with some stickers to convert the box into a kids play castle!1

My friend moved into his flat recently and Nationwide gave him a huge box of goodies; biscuits, food stuff, cleaning things etc. It was pretty impressive.
