    Hiya!

Had a vey early start yesterday for the trip to Brum, and escaped most, but not all, of the showery weather.
Luckily I wasn't driving! So could relax a bit.

The workshop was extremely good and worth the effort we'd had to put in for it.

Recovering now!:D Haven't even got up to make a cup of tea yet, though I have been watching more TV recordings of "When the boat comes in!'

I think I really do need some now!

I should look at my old teasmade and see if it still works!

So glad the day went well after all Sue :T 52 floats? Wow! That is a LOT.

Pyxis I'm glad the workshop went well and I will now read back to see what the workshop was, because somehow I missed it on my first reading and I know you'll have told us about it :o i assume either singing or Am-Dram.

ETA Ah, I was right, Am-Dram! I'm glad you enjoyed the day :)

PN Seems typical of the weather in this country really!

The weather attempted to intervene yesterday and for a while it looked like it had succeeded when a sudden and torrential downpour followed by two heavy showers flooded the events area where the bands were playing and other carnival activities were going on. Luckily we are made of sterner stuff, so after it had stopped people avoided the more flooded parts and carried on (unfortunately, one of the three bands I wanted to see had to be cancelled - out of 3 I managed to see one of them over the two days as my sister in law had to have an emergency scan on Saturday)

Really felt for the organisers but at least some of the day was salvaged and the spectacular fireworks last night was able to go ahead (which at one point had looked very dodgy as to whether they would be able to)
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

It is a real shame when all that hard work and organisation has to be written off due to really bad weather.

I used to go to a lovely little country show every year. One year, it had rained very, very heavily for days and days beforehand, and although the rain wasn't too bad on the day, when I got there, they'd had to cancel the whole thing because the parking fields weren't driveable-on. You'd have been instantly bogged down.

It was such a shame, and they looked devastated.

Printer ink - for the nice people complaining about the cost of printer ink, this looks like a steal.

£66 for the printer including starter cartridges with enough ink for 1500 colour prints (3000 prints in the black cartridge).

It's cheaper to buy an extra printer at this price, rather than toner cartridges, though.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Ooh! Don't get me started on perfectly good printers being made obsolete in a relatively short time by unavaibility/soaring cost of the right inks.

I can't win. Some time ago, I had to dump a perfectly-working MFC machine due to not being able to get the inks any more.
More recently, when I realised that the inks for another MFC were becoming scarce, I bought up loads and loads, only to find, a couple of months ago, that the machine went wrong and can't be repaired, and now I'm left with a load of inks I can't use in any other machine!

(Sorry, I've probably said all that before! :D)

Aren't 'starter cartridges' designed so you can't get cheap printing even going down the 'throw the printer away when the original carts run out' route?
    I think....

If they're the same as printer inks, they're all a different design.

And I think we've had the conversation about using the cheap ink 'compatibles' which can wreck the printer, which is what happened to my second MFC, and why I won't risk using non-Epson inks on my very good Epson MRC.

Looks a tank to me, have to be a weight lifter to steal that!

Yes, but this is a workgroup printer, designed for small teams doing a few thousand colour prints a month. So, perhaps HP's idea of a starter cartridge is one that lasts them a couple of weeks? Hopefully, it'll last me a couple of decades.
