Ah, you've heard about my long term plan :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
In the interim it's definitely better having more hair on the chin coz I can always wear a wooly hat on top - but it tends to fall off the chin
Here you are......perfick! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

We have a fox in the back garden, desperately seeking shelter from the wind and snow. On the one hand I wish he would live elsewhere, on the other I do feel sorry for it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Now, if you kept them in the bathroom they could serve as a soft cushion on which to land when you fall out of the bath after opening/closing the window :rotfl:
I'd love to .... but there's genuinely not enough space to put them. It's a nuisance having to store them away from the place where they'd be most useful/needed.
Somebody capable of putting up shelves could easily create a wall shelf for them.... I'm not capable, so it's not a priority at all.0 -
The snow's coming down a bit hard now. "Proper snow" that lays and gathers, drifts and piles.... a real "snow laid and covering the ground" as opposed to the half-4rsed attempt it did of the job earlier.
Looks like I'm now "in for the duration" .....
Nothing to get as I don't need much to start with .... so there's no need to go out unless somebody needs my assistance. In fact, if there were a local "Emergencies" team I'd happily turn out for that.
Update: It's now laid to the point where incoming neighbours wishing to park their cars will have to "go a bit easy" lining themselves up in their spots as you can't see the lines/numbers so have nothing to go on when trying to park.... it's about 2" deep at a guess (not going out to measure it just for the sake of an Internet post)0 -
Still only snowing very lightly here, but it's been at it on and off all day, and it's pretty windy so I imagine there are drifts all over the place.
DS has just arrived home from school - apparently they shortened all the lessons so everyone could go home early without actually missing the whole of any one lesson.
DD's school is carrying on as usual. The company that runs her school bus seems to be working with the various schools they serve, so that school decisions about closing early are linked to bus company decisions to run buses early. It's quite a complicated business - there are 4 bus companies serving her school, and most of the routes serve at least two schools, so getting all the early closures coordinated must require a fair amount of back and forth communication. The bus companies vary a lot as to how easy it is to get updates on their websites about what's going on. Happy DD is with one of the ones giving full details on an easy to find page.
Still making very slow progress with my reports.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
No more snow up here (well, down near the coast at least, plenty in the east of the county I understand) and most of yesterday's has gone with the sun making attempts to break through. It's blowing a hoolie though, making it feel a darned sight colder than the 2.4 degrees that my outside thermometer says the air temperature's reached.0
