I should just about be ok but I must must must remind myself to get some more when I go to work otherwise it could get very messy tonight.:rotfl:

Just been outside - it's drifting against my front door, which isn't good if you get a ton of it when you open the door, so I got the brush to brush it away and it's dry/powdery snow, like fake snow. Not wet at all and just brushes away straight away.

I'm all right Jack. I've got food, drink etc. Heating's working, but not on at the moment as I did have it on earlier for a bit.... trying to eke it out a bit.

EDIT: Changed my mind about heating as I could see an icicle hanging from the condensate exhaust pipe .... and I figured I'd best turn the heating on, to keep it moving, so the heating works and that pipe doesn't freeze up. Not sure if I've done right or wrong really .... but at least if it stops working the house will be warm by then, rather than starting from a position of being cold and discovering it won't turn on :)

I made it into work safely, main road was ok although a little eek with snow drifts at points.

I am also now relieved to say I have toilet roll!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

DW can't understand my anxiety about running out. :o
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

DD's school has announced it will be closed tomorrow.
DS's school says it is watching the weather and will decide soon.
My school will not close under any circumstances. I will be going to work as usual tomorrow (just without the bit where I drop DD off at the bus stop on my way).

The memories of how difficult childcare used to be for this sort of thing when they were little are still very strong. I am sitting here feeling happy they are big enough to leave on their own. :D

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

All bar two schools in the village and main town have already said they are closed tomorrow. Not checked for the big town but I would assume it is similar.

The posts on Facebook on our local pages brought back memories of how I felt having to go out on bad mornings to get them to school, especially as we tend to get cut off far easier in the village but with a lot of our children at schools in the town.

I'm not due to work tomorrow so will watch the weather from the comfort of my home. Will be nice to not have to worry about driving anywhere especially with what is forecast for here tomorrow.

My school has now announced that although it will be staying open tomorrow, staff and kids can come in whatever keeps them warm and comfortable - no need for uniform for the kids or "professional" clothes for us. :)

I did exactly that, Pastures. On Tuesday , I turned the heating up a degree, and it doesn't go off overnight either.
I'm terrified of the boiler breaking down, as the cold and damp affects my asthma.
I may be too warm at times, especially upstairs, (downstairs is colder due to no floor coverings....long, boring story), but at least if something happens, the fabric will be well-warmed through.

I'll worry about the extra cost later.

    Don't tell Martin. :D

I do hope you've followed that wise advice to strap two carpet samples to your slippers :)
Just like fitted carpet, without the cost. Very MSE.
