Pretty much every school shut here today including the high school which absolutely never closes (much to our stress over the years). Apparently all the roads are horrendous with new snow over ice from defrosted snow and slush yesterday.
I'm just getting my courage up to get the car cleared and get to work.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I actually remembered to cover my windscreens two day in a row, but in the end, other windscreens didn't appear to be frosted up.
What surprised me was that although very little of the short snow shower settled, and then only on north-facing pavements, etc. it froze so hard that it wasn't slippery.
I found that weird.
I think it's due to it being so very dry.(I just lurve spiders!)

Very snowy here in the village but the school is open. Most pupils live in the village and walk anyway. When I went past with the dogs they were having fun building snowmen.
I checked on a few elderly neighbours while I was out and made sure to feed the birds when I got back. A couple of birds had taken shelter on the bird table when there was a sudden snow shower.
DH got to work but said he had to turn the computer off in the car as the car didn't like it. Whatever that means.
Stay safe everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Drive to work was much better than yesterday, partly because I think everyone else was avoiding going on the roads so less frozen slush, compacted icy snow and ice!
All public transport cancelled here so no buses or trains running at all, loads of shops, cafes and restaurants shut. Personally, I think it was worse yesterday.
Local businesses doing a roaring trade in sleds. We made it! Do you think you'll get many customers today Sue?
I hadn't noticed we were due to get more snow last night, so I had a surprise when I got up. I must say our not-very-tidy garden looks very pretty!0 -
I doubt it, very low numbers yesterday too.We made it! I'm sitting in Waitress cafe while DS has his only lesson for today.
The man serving food to the tables is wearing a beard net. I appreciate the attention to food hygiene but I'm a bit scared of him. As I catch him out of the corner of my eye, he looks like the love child of Hannibal Lector and Jason from Halloween.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sleds! :rotfl:
Trouble with sleds is you need some(thing)(one) to pull it!
Oo-er! It's very windy out there.
I bet the cover's blown odd my windscreen.
Those covers are annoying.they're just not quite big enough to have them pulled taut for the shape of my car. The magnetic things end up on glass if I pull them taut.
So I end up having to bunch them up a bit, which means the wind can get under them.(I just lurve spiders!)

I'm "funny about beards" - they creep me out.
I'd prefer to choose to not eat anything prepared by or served by somebody with a beard.
Beard nets are even worse. That's a whole new level of creepy.
Beards just creep me out and gross me out ..... they're not a good look on anybody, especially these new style beards.0 -

I agree.
DS2 has grown something resembling a beard. He thinks it makes him look older and wiser. I think it falls into the 'too young to have enough hair for a beard' category.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
