So we can get them up there and then use the second set to get them down again....

Perhaps we are envisaging different sorts of wardrobe! :D
I tried it with mine and it was doable, both getting the steps up and getting them down.

    But heyho! :D:D:D;)

We must all be related, it's a family curse on dad's side to have a long body but short legs.

Golly! My dad sure must have got around a lot! :rotfl:

Just everyone spare a thought for Joe, he is 5ft nothing! Mind you, he does seem to have very long arms for his height as he can reach higher than I can...clearly demonstrated by his spider getting rid of ability but then that might be because I am hiding under the cover/behind the sofa/in the hallway whilst at the same time Josh is screaming like a little girl.

That should be made into a comedy sketch!

There was a kids' puppet programme on in the black and white days.... was it Twizzle? ...... about a little boy who could twizzle his arms longer to do things. For the good of mankind, I should add! :D

    So that's Joe.

You are the quivering lump under the carpet.

Josh is a personification of Munch's The Scream painting!

This is Twizzle, not twizzling in this pic.

There aren't any video clips remaining, apparently, only a few stills.

It was one of Gerry Anderson's first forays into this type of thing.

This chap suggests converting a standard bulb to fit a BC3 socket. Only tool required is a pair of scissors.

I am not sure you should try this at home.

Woke to a sprinkle of snow and frozen pipes. Outside tap still working, so at least we can have a cuppa while deciding what to do.

For once the forecasters got it right for our town.....cue lots of people complaining about the school closure website crashing.

I woke up because it was too quiet outside, goodness knows how I am going to get to work this morning, our road is virtually undrivable.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Turn the main stop c0ck off? That limits the damage to the water in the tank in the loft.

Can you swap shifts with somebody else? Maybe the road will get gritted or the snow will melt?

    ... frozen pipes....

As a soft southerner, we used to get the potential of frozen pipes in the 60s/early 70s. We never had it in our house as dad was super-keen to ensure they were all lagged with rags etc, it was one of his "man job obsessions".

But I've not been aware of any worry of frozen pipes since houses started to be better insulated, have double glazing, fitted carpets and central heating etc.

When I moved from the East, which today would be right where the cold stuff is, I was really pleased to get away from the bitterly cold/freezing winters when the winds etc would often come directly from Siberia. Haven't missed that bitterly cold winter stuff at all since I moved over 20 years ago. Those cold winters were one of those "mentally saying Thank God" to myself as I drove away from the area - and still don't regret moving JUST for that reason.

    I don't do cold....

I have small kick stool which automatically clamps itself down as you put any weight on it. Better than ladders or set of steps.

We have a step with a handle. I think it would take up too much space in PN's bathroom though, from what she's said about the size of it!

ETA I was thinking of PN using something like that to get in and out of the bath safely, not to change light bulbs :)
