The sun is shinning. I have a blue sky. What's all this nonsense about snow. :)

The sun is shining out of a blue sky here too... but there is still snow on the ground from yesterday.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
  • Still snow on the ground up here too, but starting to melt a bit today.

I'm up far too early tomorrow for a 3 hour drive so hopefully we don't get any more snow and ice tonight.

Should really have been in bed already but logged on to book a hotel and discovered my loyalty points account had been hacked and emptied of most of the points!

Half an hour on the phone to a call centre established that I wasn't currently visiting China on loyalty-points nights, and I didn't order an ipad and various other gizmos either.

They claim they'll have it all sorted in a few days.... we'll see. (insert grumpy Scotsman smiley here)

Do you have plenty of data and hotspot on your phone, silvercar? You should be able to operate almost normally with that if your TV is smart or you have a Firestick. We’d melt down with no internet!

I have some data and a hotspot and a smart TV. How do I connect? Watch on the phone and mirror to the TV? or is there a better way?

Activate hotspot and connect the TV to it via wifi.

Should be able to use virtually all the watching apps on the TV. Can watch BBC live on iplayer - I presume the other terrestrial apps do the same.

  • The weather front has arrived.... it's 1 degree outside.

First time I won't have to scrape ice off the car for a good few days now. :)

A lovely new moon out there.

Yesterday evening, there was a very good transit of the ISS in a beautifully clear sky, and two the previous evening!

    :(:(:(

Rather surprisingly, :D:D, I couldn't find a grumpy Scotsman emoticon, only that character from the Simpsons.

    EDIT.

Will a mildly perturbed Scotsman do?

Woken up to snow and ice this morning, apparently the side roads are horrendous...something I will find out about myself in 40 minutes as I try to get out of our close.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

We’re up to -6, from -7 an hour ago. Heady heights!

We’re supposed to be heading for a shepherd’s hut with an outdoor hot tub in a bit! Brrr
