It's just wet, wet, wet here. It's raining, big cold drips - and has been raining since yesterday.

I need to take the car out for a blast to recharge the car battery, but this isn't the right sort of weather to do that; the roads will have slow moving traffic due to the rain. I've been putting it off for days due to weather/traffic reasons. I just need daylight hours, in the dry, to give the car a good long blast.

We still have no TV or boradband. :a

We had a a few inches of snow yesterday and a wedding to go to in Central London.

Roads gridlocked by mid morning due to an accident on the A1.

Looks like a lot of the big roads ground to a halt yesterday morning. Amazingly the trains kept running although I think the tube gave up in NW London.

    Snow/sleeting again now :(

I did here a rumour that snowflakes had been seen in Poole....
    I think....

Do you have plenty of data and hotspot on your phone, silvercar? You should be able to operate almost normally with that if your TV is smart or you have a Firestick. We’d melt down with no internet! We had a couple of power cuts last night which was a bit hairy, wondering if we were going to stay warm, but they were brief.

We have lots of snow. Glad there is no school as the kids are 30 miles apart of a day time!

This is our effort yesterday. Not an amazing photo but I don’t think there’s another picture in existence of all four of us and the dogs :o

We had a wonderful day playing in the snow, cosying up with lunch in front of the fire in the local pub and watching movies. It probably won’t happen again after this year, given the irregularity of snow days and the size of our kids. I feel very grateful though.

    Lovely pic Doozergirl:D.

Weather story, three drivers got on a boat in Esbjerg that was supposed to dock in Immingham 14.30 on Friday. Stayed in port till Saturday morning, then bounced across the North Sea and then spend most of the day berthed but unable to get off in Immingham. Only 48 hours late.

Glad I wasn't there, I'm not that good a sailor!

Currently waiting for Scottish Power to be bothered to pick up the phone....42 minutes and counting.

I have a meeting at 12, so can't hold on indefinitely, although it is giving me time to read some of the paperwork for the meeting that I should have become acquainted with over the weekend before running out of time

    Have a good week all.

    Hiya, Doozergirl!

    That's one big snowman!

Was it all snow, or did you use something inside it? :D

Rain has stopped. There's a glimmer in the sky.
More rain due, though, until Thursday. Then dry.

Am relieved there's no snow, as I have AmDram stuff tonight, tomorrow night and Thursday night!

Don't quote, will delete as I don't want to annoy the airline before flying with them again.

The [airline name] flight last night from [place] to UK landed late, crew presumably timed out and had to overnight the plane in London.

That's caused problems today (there will be a minimum 5 hour delay on the next flight), so the issue will have cost the airline a minimum of €150000 in compensation [ETA: Assuming from inside knowledge it's not completely due to weather].

That's IMO the risk you take though basing a single plane at an airport far out of anywhere else. I'm sure they could probably have flown a crew into London from elsewhere (probably [deleted, it's a city in Europe though]) to get back late but not overly late though, given they'd have had at least 5 hours notice it was likely to happen.

ETA: It took off 22 hours late.
