The weather front has arrived.... it's 1 degree outside.

First time I won't have to scrape ice off the car for a good few days now. :)

We are being offered rain falling onto freezing surfaces at 2 degrees this evening - aren't we lucky :)

Looks like staying cold and expensive to heat for the next week or so then a little milder and cloudy for a totally unseasonal Christmas :)
    I think....

    Hahaha! That always happens! Always!

And then we get more cold snaps in Jan and Feb!

Or perhaps Feb will be a heatwave again, like in 1998!

Not too long, but the print is very small.

I like your two colour approach.

Pot. Kettle. Black. but I think bold and not italics is easier to read.

Thank you. :) How do you like it now?

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Yes, really glad you kept the bit about your children only being alive due to seat belts. :T

Well, there wouldn't have been much point in my asking the NP what they thought if I wasn't going to take any notice of what they said! Glad you like the sig, anyway. :)

Any other NP interested in the Alabama senate election tonight?? I'm afraid Moore is going to win, and that if he does the rest of the senate Republicans will roll over and accept him without following through on any of their threats to refuse to seat him, or have an investigation, or anything. Hoping Jones wins, of course, but not feeling very hopeful.

What I really really don't understand is Moore's accusers. They've come forward with their stories because they think (rightly) that he's not a fit person to be a senator. Which is a brave thing to do and well done them. However, they say this isn't about party politics because most (all?) of them voted for Trump. But why, why, why if they expect their fellow citizens to listen to their stories and vote against Moore, did they themselves not listen to the stories of Trump's accusers and vote against Trump a year ago????? Do they think sexual assault disqualifies someone from the senate but not from the presidency????

It is an interesting one - in theory the democrats should have no chance in the state but the GOP are testing the pin a rosette on a monkey (is this still PC to say?) theory. Sadly T will treat it as a vindication if Moore so much as scrapes a win :(

Not PC. Offensive to monkeys in this case. ;)

I've won a rug! Local company, I generally never win anything but this time I did.

Apparently it is a luxury one in grey and quite a large one too.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Enjoy your new rug Sue, sounds lovely.

Speaking of rugs, I see that Moore had the rug pulled from under him (sorry couldn't resist). And common sense won out.

In terms of why victims would vote for Trump, there are a couple of reasons.

First he is a step removed. Although they were victims, the accusations against Trump were not proven. He was not the one who abused them. Plus we should not forget that Trump made promises to the Fly Over states that made it look as though finally someone was interested in their plight. Others didn't, it was all same old...

Second, Trump was not Hillary. If anyone else was put forward they could have voted differently.

Third, the Bannon machine was at its most powerful. Moore's defeat shows that it has weakened. The Republicans though are very split. This predates Trump and has a lot to do with the Tea Party. These grass roots movements promise states like Alabama that really are at the tail end of the American Dream, that they have a part to play. The problem now is that Trump is not delivering on his promise to the poorer states.

There are US states that aren't as wealthy as Alabama, but only a handful.
