Do you have a walk in or minor injuries unit nearby? Maybe pop along and get yourself checked out.
I'm trying to avoid finding out if/where... then driving there, then the trauma of parking, then the entering, then the waiting.
I've isolated it to being "swollen/hurting along the length of the area between ring & small fingers; swollen down that strip to about the wrist". Still hoping it'll just go away0 -
I think one of the conditions is not working (kind of fair enough I guess), plus I have quite a few appointments to attend. If I can get by ok on the money I think I'd rather try and spend my time having fun
I might (finally) look into matched betting...
Doozer, I need to send you some pics of my bathroom! I went completely OTTI did shop around for stuff but it ended up being not very MSE (oops). I absolutely love it though, which is I think the main thing.
I'd love to see it
And fun sounds like a great idea!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

The best thing about a Minor Injuries Unit is that there is no, or barely any, waiting.
The drama queens still go to A&E. Not great for A&E, but good for those of us with intelligence.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I've now looked. It's not in a great spot, being at the main Hospital, where traffic is busy.... there is an onsite multi storey car park. I'm confident driving, but would be a little worried if I ended up in an awkward parking situation where I needed full dexterity of both hands.
I'll wait awhile. It's not getting worse; I suspect they'd just say "nothing broken, it'll just hurt for 2-3 weeks".
So I'll wait a bit more.....
Nothing is in danger of dropping off, which is my usual gauge for how critical things are

Not where I live....
but agree, it's the best place to go if you decide it needs to be seen.0 -
Get a taxi, or ask one of your housemates if they can give you a lift.
Show the housemates the hand.
Is there a bus service?0 -

Two housemates have cars, one's on nights/asleep, other's at work all day. Both take way way too many drugs for me to ever get in their cars
There is a bus..... I'd have to research that.
I'll wait. Nothing's dropped off and it's got no worse.
I can see swelling, it's not especially discoloured. It just hurts....
Phone just rang, viewing tomorrow/noon, so I could stop off at MIU on the way back if needs be.0 -
I think my injury has reached it's "resting point" now.... it's not broken, it's just hurt/swollen.
I can use thumb/index finger to gently hold some things, but any form of gripping using any of the fingers makes the small/ring fingers hurt as they'd be flexed/moved too.
I couldn't, say, hold a bag in that hand, or carry anything. The fingers move and flex all right, but extending them all the way or holding my hand out "flat", causes a bit of a "bruised hurting" in the small/ring fingers and associated hand area. There is slight swelling up the hand where the bones of those fingers continue.
I figure it is just swollen/bruised, nothing can be done with it, it just needs rest and for me to be careful for a week or so ....
It does throb/ache if I move about.... but if I can rest it somewhere cool when I've finished moving about it stops. e.g. if I go to make a coffee, not using my left hand, just going there/back it throbs/aches sufficient to require resting even though it's not been used.
I lived
Told you I would.0 -
