🍆 How about holding an aubergine?

Would it prevent anything from swelling?

A bag of frozen peas (or any other vegetable) on it would help.

There is an ice machine here. Yesterday I iced it twice.

This morning half the palm of my hand and round the base of the ring finger are black. Putting my palm down on a surface it's visibly swollen, almost 2x larger than the uninjured side.

It doesn't "hurt" beyond "the hurt of bruising", so nothing's broken.

I've googled.... looks like I only need to worry if things were worse, or get worse.

I am clearly still living... so that's all we ask each day isn't it. :)

If you are interested, at the right price, perhaps you should actually make that as an offer? That way, it gets passed on to the owners, and you are on the books as being interested.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

There's a post just like that on the house buying board right now. There's nothing wrong with doing that and if it focusses them and no one else offers, you're in there rather than waiting for a price drop.

It may go before that point, but it might not and you are at least in there at the front of the queue.

What I meant was an email saying for example 'I offer £xxxx for 12 Gluepot Lane, subject to contract.'

You could add “I really love the house, and I would buy it with the intention of living there for the rest of my life. I am really sorry I cannot offer the full asking price, but that’s the way my finances work out, I am afraid. As you know, this is an all cash offer, and I am able to proceed immediately.”

It’s up to you what you do, but you lose nothing by sending an email like that. The agent has no doubt seen hundreds just like it, but it may make a difference to the vendors, and they are the ones making the decision.

Most vendors would rather sell to an end user, rather than to someone who is going to undertake work they are too scared to do themselves then sell it for a profit. So, it’s worth making that point.

i remembered this discussion from before.

Hand pain not going away, so i was off to the car to my "1st aid stash" i'd popped in there when camping in 2018.

i thought I might have "something" there and it turned out to be ibuprofen.

So I found/read the relevant posts and deemed these are the right sort and just had two.

i had a burger in a flatbread 2 hours ago, which is food.

Aspirin and ibuprofen are anti-inflammatories; they belong to a group of drugs called NSAIDS, (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). As the name suggests, they act on inflammation, as opposed to pain as such.
These can irritate the stomach, especially if not taken with food, and in very extreme cases, may cause or contribute to a stomach ulcer if not taken with care.

Ancestry free until Monday, for war dated stuff... you can never be sure what's included/not until you click and it either gives you a scan or asks for money. I did get/see a 1960 ship travel New York to England this morning, for example... so that's not "war dated".

Got the washer this morning ;)

The trouble with not having confidence in getting the washer is that one'd wash items sooner/smaller pile, and/or more often "just in case".

5-6 more weeks here roughly.... so I will need to find a "next address" in 3 weeks or so.

How's your hand, PN? Hope it's easing.

If not, get yourself down to the MIU, no need to suffer unnecessarily.

It's not dropped off; still not functional. Its perpetual nagging/aching has eased a little.

    I'm sure it'll pass... soon.
