The trouble with not having confidence in getting the washer is that one'd wash items sooner/smaller pile, and/or more often "just in case".
5-6 more weeks here roughly.... so I will need to find a "next address" in 3 weeks or so.
They want to free the place up for Christmas?
I've noticed that Sheringham is as quiet as anything in early December, and then it fills up for Christmas and the new year. It's pretty bracing next to the North Sea at Christmas, and it can't be that much warmer on the South coast. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Invalid update. Day 4.
Day 2 I had two ibuprofen, twice. Didn't yesterday as i like to feel the pain so I can gauge if something's getting better or not. I don't use medication, so prefer to use it as a "last option" choice.
Today the bruising's coming out and hand is swollen, black, yellow and bright red. injured hand looks plump and like a young person's hand, compared to uninjured one which is skinny and a bit wrinkly - they look 20+ years' different in age.
It aches a bit.... every time I move it. Took 2 Ibuprofen an hour ago.
i believe it's on the mend.
This new keyboard is not working out though. It's temperamental and most of the Ctrl functions refuse to work, so i think it'll go back.... when I can drive. Tomorrow I'll switch it for the old keyboard that just had a dicky "T"0 -

Yes. i hadn't got round to/CBA to come back and mention that, which I discovered later.
Between freebies I keep a notepad list of what I want from each/either site.... on a freebie weekend I hit that list first. There is generally little else/new for me to get any more that's available online. It's been a long time since I reached a point where the only real way forward was to either physically go to record centres, or buy pricey certificates... so I discover little new these days.
I am still waiting for a US death. 1960s, Philadelphia, my aunt who married a GI. She died there sometime between, say, 1965 and 1973, but I've no idea when. I found it odd that I used to remember mum getting letters from her sister with air mail edging.... and yet she never kept a single one! Having said that she also destroyed her divorce papers and didn't even have her birth certificate or marriage certificate. Odd that. You'd think most people would have kept birth/marriage certificates. She went abroad once, in 1983/84 so she must have needed her birth certificate to get a passport.0 -
Houses update: Nothing coming to market.
Odd one appeared this morning - I thought "you've been on before"... so I checked. It'd gone on mid-Feb and sold within 2 weeks. I'd not wanted it for several reasons... 57 was an EoT 1970s house with a very wide garden as it was end of the road - they'd added this new one onto the end of the terrace AND put a new build detached at the bottom of the garden. I'd not wanted either.
The new EoT is the one that's reappeared. It'd completed mid Jun for £275k, the full original asking price. It's now on for £275k and says "only occupied for 2 weeks" - and you just wonder .... "that was quick then!". Mid June to beginning of November isn't 2 weeks though is it... very odd.0 -
I'm pleased to hear about the bruising coming out, PN. I think you're right and it's starting to heal.
Strange about the EOT, i wonder why it was only occupied for 2 weeks? Perhaps it was "settling" with a lot of creaky noises and they thought it must be haunted
Right, I need to send a PM to Sue, though I know she's not well atm so i won't expect a quick reply.0 -
Have now answered Ivyleaf, hope it helps.
I'm now very much on the road to recovery although I had a rather big asthma episode earlier tonight with peak flows down to around 33% of my normal. This one was not related to a chest infection though, just a few of my normal triggers being triggered because I had the bright idea I wanted to do a spring clean and try out Josh's snazzy air freshener thing......dust, polish and the snazzy air freshener are not best buddies with my asthma.
Joe is home for the weekend, already he wants the heating to go on (I'm still holding out) but then he had an absolutely horrendous journey home from a flood hit Lincoln where his halls are on the banks of a river which has overtopped, he had to schlep his way out to dry land to get to the train station. Not that his horrendous journey was to do with any weather related thing, nope, it was trains that were too small and a cancellation of a train when they were already on it because they wanted the train for another route! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Hope you are recovering Sue.

Maggie How are you? Are you in Wales atm?0 -
Hi there ivyleaf, sadly am in Liverpool at the mo. Had several dental appointments, but apart from hygienist that's over (touch wood!) till next May. How are you doing ivyleaf? Hope all is well.
We have tickets for Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Empire for Friday, not sure if we'll go back to the caravan after that or not. My car needs servicing 9 Dec, Rent Day at allotments is 14/15 Dec, hygienist is 16 December. Hoping to get off to caravan after that for 25th (don't want to use the C word yet).
I'm finding that the journey between here and the caravan is setting me back worse than it used to in the past. At least a week before over the packing and travel. So we try to stay for extended time at the caravan and at home, if you see what I mean!
Not all bad though, OH has planted garlic, onions and shallots at the lottie, and he brought me a little nosegay of nasturtiums yesterday. Probably the last of the year as we had frost this morning.Nasturtium by Maggie, on Flickr
