I'm delighted to hear you've recovered well GDB.
I'm ok, pretty well all things considered really! I'm about to start the paperwork to apply for ill health retirement  mostly because after 2 years of being great work are now sadly being not so great and this would be the most feasible exit route. I'll have to reacquaint myself with my inner MSE but thanks to overpaying my mortgage quite a bit should be workable financially. Its a huge change and I probably wouldn't have been doing this now if it wasnt for the problems at work but I overall I think its the right time.0 -
Not here we are onto the beginning of the 3rd week of money going up in smoke. We have already had two weeks of fireworks. Compared to last Sunday tonight here is quiet.
I am not going out. I have the evidence of what can be flying through the air.
Last Sunday was Diwali.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sorry to hear that, lovely.
Could you use the opportunity to do something on a self-employed basis? Maybe a virtual assistant? Or anything, really. The world could be your lobster.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Virtual assistants are "ten a penny".... I bet there's a lot of mileage to be had in private tutoring science subjects for GCSE and A levels. That would be higher paid and more predictable work hours.
With tutoring you're booked for slots. With VA stuff you can tend to get all-time-consuming clients who are irrational and start demanding things at the drop of a hat.0 -
I think one of the conditions is not working (kind of fair enough I guess), plus I have quite a few appointments to attend. If I can get by ok on the money I think I'd rather try and spend my time having fun
I might (finally) look into matched betting...
Doozer, I need to send you some pics of my bathroom! I went completely OTTI did shop around for stuff but it ended up being not very MSE (oops). I absolutely love it though, which is I think the main thing.

Lovely to see you Nikki, not so lovely to hear all you are going through.
As an update on today and the parking experience, wonders of wonders but no-one blocked our lane and no idiot parkers in our bit of town (different story just up the road though)We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I've had a nasty slippage, stepped on a wet railway sleeper outside and went down like a sack of spuds.
I think I've done more damage than I first thought... I thought it was just pain, but 3 fingers/left hand took the brunt, so currently typing one-handed, other hand in a bowl of ice "hoping it passes"0 -
Do you have a walk in or minor injuries unit nearby? Maybe pop along and get yourself checked out.We made it!
