What a lovely pic, Maggie! i know just what you mean about it taking a lot longer to recover from travelling ((HUGS)). i'm not too bad thanks, though I've been having trouble with my shoulder since the beginning of this year. I'm having physio appointments, and doing exercises every day, and it is improving but it does get me down at times as it's taking so long! And it's the side i prefer to lie on at night, and I can't because it hurts (whinge, whinge!)

So, that's two possibles you have seen in the last week or so. Forgetting about price for a moment, did you like one more than the other?

Ivy, have you got a frozen shoulder? I did my left one in three years ago falling down some steps in Barcelona. Left it to heal naturally, took about 18 months. Have recently had another accident and did the other side but worse. Damaged 2 of 4 rotator cuff muscles and the top of my biceps.

This time I bit the bullet and went for a guided ultrasound. Paid to go private. Not cheap (£640) but worth it as I'm much better. Had 3 steroid jabs directly into the muscle and although not healed has been much better.

Oh, I'm glad you're getting better viva. Not frozen shoulder in my case, but impingement. Thankfully the physio is helping. It's a lot more mobile than it was. I had another session the other day. I asked my nice physio if I'll always have to do exercises, but he said No, he thinks a few more months of doing the exercises will do it. It's taken a long time though. I first went to the GP about it in February!

What I'm most looking forward to is being able to sleep on my left side again! It's my preferred side. I never feel I can snuggle down properly on my right side :o

Quiet on here. Hope everyone is ok.

We visited Harrogate last weekend, never been before and was impressed.

I've been busy at work and getting over my hospital trip last month alongside extra appointments for both me and dad.

I think I have finally recovered, only in the last week or so but I am now back to my normal with peak flows (for my asthma) stable for the last week. It's taken much longer to recover this time even with increased medication although I expect not resting when I should have has probably played a part. I have been roundly told off by my asthma nurse for not taking sick leave (I was given a fit note for two weeks with a view to extending further if needed) but I just can't afford to take time off with no pay (I don't quite earn enough averaged out for SSP and we don't get paid sick pay, it's getting closer but not quite there just yet) as that is my only income.

Youngest has started his driving lessons, eldest is suffering from sibling jealousy over the fact, especially as youngest is doing so well and has already been told to get his theory test done with a view to taking his practical test in January.

Youngest is also knee deep in his dissertation project, assignments etc. He had a major eek time after working on prep for his dissertation over the summer, he was told he couldn't do what he wanted to do (a research type written dissertation) and had to do one with a practical element, however his dissertation supervisor was so impressed with his subject matter that he has been told it is perfectly suited and an excellent idea for his Masters. His supervisor seems to be a good one, he keeps giving youngest research papers to read, digest and discuss the following week which is keeping him on his toes and expanding his knowledge much further than his lectures and workshops have been doing and as it is on a one to one basis, is helping him to grow without becoming overwhelmed by lots of people around him.

Eldest has now been in his new job for two weeks, he's liking it but it is a huge change from what he was doing before as he has moved from sales based roles into a finance based one. He has been experiencing a little bit of impostor syndrome as he is surrounded by all these people with (in his words), proper degrees rather than his lowly Film and TV production one but they must have seen something in him to have kept tabs with the recruitment agency he is signed up to after he moved role last time and they were a little too slow in offering an interview and by the time they did, he had already accepted a job offer elsewhere. As soon as they found out he was available again, they extended an interview offer without application and he was offered the role within 12 hours of the interview.

Middle son has been my rock over the last couple of months and an absolute godsend to us all. I feel so much guilt that he has had to take on this role and feel he should be living his own life, so even though it would be a nightmare for us, I am still encouraging him to live life, even if that means a move back to his university town (which is where his heart, friends and prospects are).
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Sorry to hear you've not been well Sue. Nobody should have to go to work sick because they cant afford not to. Really disappointed that this is the reality for some, even though we are in the 21st century, not the nineteenth.

It's all very quiet on this thread lately.....

How is the house search going on PN, anything turned up?

Hope everyone is ok, life is just rumbling along normally for me right now...well as normal as my life can ever be!

I had the usual Annual Event yesterday. Didn't do anything. Nothing happened. It was bitterly nippy outside, I stayed in (bed).

It does seem interesting... but, as a unitasker, I need to have my mind clear before adding new interests/tasks to the list. I'm too unsettled at the moment... if I started and stopped I'd carry the heavy weight of "guilt" for years. :)

Absolutely nothing.... I wish I'd been keeping weekly stats from the start as they'd give me the measure of the drop off.

I am not expecting anything now. Few will want to decorate their house with Xmas fripperies and shop for Xmas and entertain house gawpers with all the hassle of tidying up/making sure there are no trip hazards....

Just checking other factors. e.g. it's an an area where there's a lot of "high risk" flooding, it's 39' above sea level, so needs checking further as it is actually on a sea-surrounded peninsula.

Spare cash if bought at full asking price: £40k.

So, at 39 feet asl, it's not at risk of flooding? Or have I misunderstood?

With £40k+ available, you can do a lot of work.
